The time seemed to be frozen for a moment as the spear went straight through the Kanima's stomach.
"SKREEEE—HSSSS!" He watched the creature scream in agonizing pain, with blood flowing from its wound. Just for a second, its eyes changed back to human form, and he could see a hint of pleading in them. Lucas' eyes shrank as hesitation filled his heart for a moment.
"Whip!" A sound broke his train of thought as the Kanima's tail headed straight for his neck. Lucas instantly leaned his body back, while pulling the spear out of the Kanima. Before the Kanima could rejoice over this action, Lucas spun his entire body and swept the spear towards the Kanima's neck.
"Slash!" The Kanima's head wobbled in the air before hitting the floor with a thud. Its body fell straight to the ground, as the Kanima's still-open eyes were staring directly at Lucas. Gazing into those eyes, Lucas closed his eyes for a moment before opening them again.
"Mercy is for the weak!" A massive wave of energy entered his body with the death of the Kanima. Lucas clenched his teeth as the pain rivaled that from when he killed the Skinwalker. The moment he laid eyes on his arm, he was stunned. Green scales appeared on it, spreading quickly.
"No!" He could feel it—something was trying to bind him to some kind of shackles. Before he could panic, his predatory ability fully awakened. Silver and gold lines spread throughout his body, fighting against the foreign threat. Suddenly, he heard a sound, as if some shackles were broken from within. Then a wave of energy washed over his body, eliminating all of the previous effects and dispelling the venom in his arm. This story has been unlawfully obtained without the author's consent.

When he looked over, he saw Matt trying to flee in panic. He glanced slightly at the washed-up ground, then realized why he could do that. Lucas took a few big steps, then jumped three meters high, grabbing Matt by the neck and bringing him down.
"Ahhgg!" The moment they landed, Matt felt a tremendous amount of force on his legs, then they went weak.
"Don't worry… it's just a scratch!" Lucas confidently reassured Matt.
"Ahhhg! You're a freaking psychopath!" Lucas put a hand on his chest as he looked at him.
"That's very hurtful, you know?" Then he released his grip on his neck, making him fall to the ground.
"Unfortunately, I will have to release you from your pain now."
"No! Wait! Please, I will not tell anyone!" Matt's eyes were filled with tears. If one didn't know better, one would think that he was a good guy. Lucas smiled as he watched this, then pointed towards Jackson's body.
"For him I may have had some hesitation, but for you…" Before Matt could even think of something else, Lucas' spear pierced right through his mouth and exited from his back.
"…not one bit!" Matt couldn't even scream in his last moment; his body only twitched once, then went completely stiff. Pulling back his spear, Lucas then looked around.
"Ahh… it's going to be a pain to clean all this stuff."
"Wiiiuuuu-wiiiuuuu-wiiiuuuu!" The distant but close wail of sirens cut through the night, and he could even faintly see the lights rapidly approaching.
"Fu*k!" Lucas glanced over at the bodies in hesitation, then leaped for the stairs. When he grabbed the stairs, he leaped a few meters again and landed outside the pit. Lucas didn't dwell much on it and ran in the opposite direction. Not long after Lucas left, a figure stepped in and looked at Jackson's and Matt's dead bodies. As he glanced over the scene, he seemed to realize something, then quickly disappeared into the darkness. •••• When he covered a certain distance, Lucas glanced back.
He could already see the warehouse surrounded, and even more police cars arriving. Suddenly he felt someone closing in. When he looked closer, he relaxed.
"Why are you here?" Malia sniffed slightly, then glanced at the blood on his body.
"It's not mine, don't worry." Lucas opened what remained of his clothes and showed his skin to her. She glanced at him, then turned her head and walked past him.
"Are you a cat now?" Lucas was speechless by her behavior. He didn't know why, but sometimes he could feel her emotions in a more direct way. Lucas then quickly made his way back. Since he didn't bring his car, it took some time for him to arrive home. When he got close, Lucas made a turn and entered his house from the backyard. Finally inside, he breathed a sigh of relief.
"Now, let's see what new ability I obtained."
