After having a "conversation" with Malia, Lucas headed to school. It was still daytime, so he couldn't attempt to get in now. Arriving, he parked his car and headed towards the school building. Suddenly, he frowned and looked in the opposite direction of the school. There he saw Derek staring at him; beside him stood his sidekicks, Isaac and Erica. Lucas found their group rather funny. He was somewhat tempted to go and smack Derek's face, but then he abstained from it.
Thinking about what he was going to do made him smile. This smile didn't escape Derek's eyes and caused him to glare at Lucas in confusion. He was genuinely flabbergasted by Lucas's behavior. First, he was so angry that he wanted to kill him, and now he looked like he was happy with his presence. This made him even more vigilant against Lucas. He was sure that Lucas was somehow involved in what happened these past few days.
After staring at each other for a couple of minutes, Lucas got bored and began making his way towards the hallway. When he entered, he saw Allison cheering Lydia up. He noticed her eye makeup seemed a little messy, and on her shirt a few wet spots were barely visible near her collarbone. Lucas kept walking towards them. When he got near, he was spotted by Allison. He gestured with his eyes toward Lydia. She shook her head; the only thing she could do for her was give her a shoulder to cry on.
Lucas didn't intrude and left for class. While the teacher was teaching, he couldn't help but think about some future threats. The one he should be careful about was the coming of the Alpha Pack, led by Deucalion. It's just that he didn't know if they could still spot the potential in Scott. But with Derek being an alpha, the chances of them coming were still high. This made him even more sure that he needed to prepare for them. Enjoying the story? The arrival of the Alpha Pack didn't scare him but instead brought a longing for their sparks. And he could get more than one. A smile formed on his lips as his pupils glowed for a second. The teacher suddenly felt a chill run down his spine and looked around in panic. After thinking that it was just his imagination, he started teaching again. •••• After Lucas finished school, he didn't leave and waited for everyone to leave the building. He waited a few hours before all the school staff left for good.
He turned towards the bushes and whispered:"Come out." The leaves brushed to the side as Malia made her entrance. The look she gave was that of reluctance, but she was eventually bribed with a delicious and expensive steak. The two made their way towards the school sign in complete silence. Arriving by the sign, he began circling it and searching for clues on how to move it. When he walked to its side, he saw some sort of circle with holes in it. Lucas's eyes lit up and he turned toward Malia.
"Quick! Insert your claws inside!" What followed was an awkward silence. Malia looked at him in doubt, and Lucas felt like an idiot. He sometimes forgot that she was just a coyote now. He then bent down and brought her close to the circle's level. Malia growled at him constantly, but he ignored her. As he pushed her paw against the circle, nothing happened. Then he glanced at her claws and tried again. For twenty minutes straight, this was the only thing he did.
Eventually, as Malia was starting to lose her patience, a sudden click was heard. Then the sign slid to the side and a deep passage appeared in front of them. His eyes sparkled with joy. For a moment, Lucas thought that it wasn't going to work, and he was already making plans to cut Derek's hand off. That would make it much easier. After staring at it for a moment, he began descending down with Malia behind him. Every step he took echoed in the narrow space.
When they finally arrived in front of another door—"It's your turn again." Without waiting for her to agree, he grabbed her again and shoved her claws into the same type of mechanism that they encountered at the entrance. This time it took longer than he expected. After 30 minutes, the door finally made a clicking sound and slowly opened to the sides. A sudden wave of an old, ancient smell hit their noses, making both involuntarily turn their heads. After waiting a few minutes, Lucas stepped forward.
The moment he stepped over the entrance, the space already felt more spacious. He looked around and saw metal stands on each side filled with what seemed to be documents. The most important thing that drew his attention was the smaller vault situated in the middle. Lucas approached it and observed it carefully. Then he saw that the vault required a code, which he didn't have. Although this was a happy problem, Lucas thought hard about the method he should use to open the vault.
