Chương 139: Incoming Darkness

Morning came and Lucas was still in the same position, only what changed was the containers on the table that were filled with blood. His cheeks were sunken and he looked like he was about to die. Lucas looked at the blood and muttered weakly.

"By blood and silence." •••• Lucas walked into the main room of the base and sat on the sofa. While he was trying to rest, Malia, who was ignored, was looking at him weirdly. She approached him closer and began sniffing his body, then her pupils shrank when she smelled the blood. She grabbed his arm instinctively and her eyes turned blue. Feeling her strong grip, he opened his eyes and looked at her, when he saw her expression he knew that she was worried.

"Don't worry, I did it."

"W-w-why?" Malia managed to speak some words, and her face was confused. He smiled and gently stroked her head, making her tense expression relax.

"Sometimes to gain something…you need to lose something else."

"Very poetic!" The elevator door opened and Marin walked inside. When she approached closer, she froze and stared at his face.

"Are you alright?" Lucas relaxed his body on the couch and waved his hand.

"Nothing to worry about, have you seen Allison?" Marin glanced suspiciously at him, then sat beside Malia.

"I just met with her, she said that she will tell her parents about her." Lucas sat up straight when he heard this, he wasn't sure how the Argents would react. He was more trusting of Chris' character, but Victoria's character… •••• While Lucas was worried about the outcome, Allison had already gathered her parents in the living room. On the couch, Chris and Victoria looked at each other in dismay, Allison was pacing in front of them and every time she was about to open her mouth, she hesitated and didn't speak.

Victoria looked at Chris, then finally asked Allison.

"What?" X2 Both were even more confused, but then that confusion turned into shock as they watched their daughter's hair slowly turning silver and her pupils shine with a silver glow. Chris' face turned from shock to a ferocious expression.

"That damn Ashford! He did this, didn't he?! When I got the news of him becoming an Alpha, I should have joined the hunt!" Victoria was hit even harder, her expression was soulless. She couldn't believe that her own daughter had become a…

"No! Lucas saved me!" Allison put her hands up and tried to explain what happened.

"What?" Chris' anger subsided and he looked at her in disbelief.

"I was gravely injured, only Lucas' bite brought me back to life." She sat down next to her parents and explained the fight they had with the Alpha Pack. Both of them were silent after hearing all that happened. Chris' expression was constantly changing. He wanted to say that it was Lucas' fault in the first place, but he knew that they were hunters and danger would always come for them. Victoria, on the other hand, closed her eyes in pain, and their hunter code was constantly appearing in her mind.

She got up and without looking at Allison, she walked away.

"Mom!" Allison was heartbroken, and could only watch her mom leave. Seeing her expression, Chris' face softened and all of the useless thoughts disappeared, Allison was his daughter no matter what.

"She…needs time." He got up and put his hand on her shoulder, and looked directly into those silver eyes. •••• The school bell rang and students made their way inside class, Lucas sat beside Allison and looked at her with worry.

"Did you really tell them?" Allison put her books on the table and lowered her head and answered.

"Yes…" Just as he was about to ask more, he stopped, by her reaction he could tell that it didn't go that well. Just as he glanced in another direction, his face froze.

"Who is she?" As if by magic, the invisible Stiles made his appearance and looked in the direction where Lucas was gazing.

"I think she is a new student… is something wrong?" Lucas didn't answer and his eye color became red. Stiles looked around in panic and almost had a heart attack. Lucas then saw the surrounding energy around the girl, it looked just like a fox. Without responding to Stiles' question, he shifted his gaze and looked outside the window. In the far distance, he could see a woman looking similar to the new girl. When he looked, she seemed to notice his gaze and looked back straight at him.

His eyes didn't change back, and he stared coldly at the unwelcome guest. •••• The moonlight shone on the Nemeton, the once grand tree was left with only its past glory, but it still gave a rare sense of ease.

"Crunch!" A figure dressed all in black approached the Nemeton and slowly made its way underneath it. When the figure arrived before the roots, it stopped and stared at them for a few seconds.

"Whoosh!" Only a blurry shadow could be seen in the dark and with a cut, some of the roots fell off. Then the figure continued until it saw what it was after. There was a jar inside the roots and the figure could see a fly inside it. It grabbed the jar and opened it, making the fly get out. The figure reached for it and closed its hand, when the hand opened again the fly was nowhere to be seen.
