Once close, he embedded his left foot in the ground and spun with all his body. His spear whistled as it cut the air and landed directly on the creature's arm.

"BOOM!"

The creature grabbed its arm in agony and gazed at Lucas with its spiral pupils. Its arm went limp, but Lucas didn't give it time to rest. His spear went for the same spot again, but just before the impact, the monster dodged and jumped into a spot full of mud. Quickly, its presence faded, and Lucas couldn't sense it.

Before he had a chance to try and sense something, a tongue flew from the ground straight for his feet. Lucas jumped swiftly, and on the way down he brought down the spear. The ground shook, and ripples spread throughout the cave. When the dust settled and he looked for the tongue, it was gone. Only the long cracks in the ground remained. He walked around, making his footsteps as loud as possible. Then suddenly he sensed a ripple in the ground beneath him. A hand popped out, full of acidic mucus, its goal evident.

Before it could touch him, his spear went right through it.

"GRAAAAH!" The scream made the ground vibrate, and the creature pulled back its hand, which had a large hole in the middle of the palm. He looked over at the tip of his spear and breathed a sigh of relief when he saw that the acid was not working on it. This spear helped him gain a huge advantage against many shapeshifters. A few meters from him, the ground shook and the monster surfaced again. Maybe it realized that its advantage was little. The most obvious thing was the hole in its palm that was not healing, and blood poured down to the ground from it. He smirked at the creature's sorry state, even though he was not in better condition.

"You should have remained hidden for eternity!"

"GARR HROO!" The creature's tongue vibrated, making a strange sound. Lucas glared coldly at it, then looked at the remains of the children.

"We are not the same! There's just a hunter and his prey here!" The creature snarled at him, then attacked. Lucas took a quick step back and struck its arm again. This time it was too late to dodge, and the spear struck the cracked arm once again.

"CRACKK!"

"NGHHHH!" Pieces of its grey armor around its arm flew around. The creature's bare skin looked bizarre, almost like a snail's body. With the skin now exposed, he didn't hesitate and swept the sharp edge across the arm.

"GRAAAHHH-kHHH!" Its arm flew from its body, and the monster's scream made the cave shake continuously. Before he could take the chance to strike again and end the fight, the creature swung its remaining arm and launched a piece of mucus at his face. Lucas' eye shrank, and without hesitation, he jumped back. With the new opportunity, the creature retreated a few more meters. By now it had realized that Lucas' strength was not weak, and it could die if this fight continued.

Its head constantly looked around, then it focused on the ground. Before it could decide to escape, Lucas' spear flashed right in front of it. Striking its shoulder head-on, the creature barely reacted and moved its head out of the way.

"THUMP!" Its knees cracked the ground. This strike had more momentum, and it directly shattered the creature's armor.

"Grrraaaa!" It stared at him with hatred, then reached for Lucas' neck. Before it could reach him, a foot struck it directly in the face, and its body tumbled a few times over. Lucas glanced at the entrance, then reached for something on his back and threw it in front of the monster. At that moment, he closed his eye without hesitation.

"FLASH!" A tremendous amount of light flashed right before the creature's eyes. Along with it came a resounding noise that affected even Lucas.

"RAHHHGGZZ!" The creature lost its balance and couldn't even get up. Not used to light in general, it had now received too much for its eyes to handle.

"RIPP!" The spear entered directly from its shoulder into its neck. Lucas then put his foot on its head. It still tried to fight. He looked directly into its eyes and twisted the spear further in. He could see the spirals in the creature's eyes getting slower, then stopping completely. Lucas' eyes flashed as his eye started spiraling before stopping, as a huge wave of energy entered directly into his head.

"ROARGHH!" The sound shook the entire cave and reached even outside, where Jordan and Mike were guarding. A wave of air followed right after the roar, and it almost made them pee themselves.
