Lucas then ordered a drink and sat down with Steven. Steven swirled his lemonade and glanced at him.
"I already sent 2 people to the town near the target, they would help with what you need." Lucas looked at him and nodded. Having someone in that zone will help.
"Did you send men to check the Calavera Family?" That was his second goal, this time he needed to leave no survivors, or else he would wake up years later with some avenger at his doorstep. Steven took out his phone and checked it, then he showed it to him.
"It was confirmed yesterday, by the looks of it the Calaveras are preparing for a war." He observed Lucas' face then continued: "But don't expect something from those lads, they are only 3 of them, and they could barely strangle a chicken." Lucas chuckled.
"I only need them to be my eyes, leave the killing part to me!"
"Will you stay the night?" Lucas shook his head and put down his drink.
"I will leave now, I just passed by to give you the money." He then got up and nodded one last time at Steven before leaving. •••• While Lucas was on his journey, the people of Beacon Hills were still living their lives. When Alan Deaton entered the room, he suddenly stopped and glanced at the person in the dark.
"It's unusual to see you here." He put down his bag and looked at the visitor. Marin glanced at her brother with a smile and spoke: "Am I disturbing your regular life? I need some information about someone." Deaton glanced at her, unimpressed by her presence.
"I don't have the information you're looking for." Marin didn't mind his refusal and still asked her questions.
"I think you do. It's about Lucas Ashford." If you spot this tale on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation. Deaton froze for a second, but it was enough for Marin to notice it. He then narrowed his eyes and spoke with a heavy tone.
"I suggest you don't poke something that should be left sleeping!" Lucas' image from that night came immediately to his mind. He was perplexed by what Lucas was, but he chose to leave him alone. Marin's face showed even more interest when she saw her brother's wariness towards Lucas.
"Now you got to tell me!" Deaton sighed and sat down.
"He's the one responsible for Peter's death." He sensed that other things were going on, but he was not sure.
"Wasn't Derek?" This time she was truly surprised. If it was true, then she had to reconsider his threat.
"Derek just killed Peter, Lucas was the one who brought him down. Now, he and Derek don't see eye to eye." This immediately brought interest to her.
"Could it be that he was after Peter's spark?" This was her most immediate thought. If that was really his goal, then he must have some connection with the werewolves… and likely some of their weaknesses. Deaton watched his sister suddenly smiling and frowned. He came to this conclusion too, but he wanted to mind his own business. From the looks of it, she would do the opposite. •••• After 10 hours of driving, Lucas finally reached his destination. His car passed by the sign that said "Welcome to Greenwood!"
The town was even bigger than Beacon Hills. He then stopped right in front of the hotel. When he got out of the car, he frowned and looked around. He noticed a few people walking on the streets; normally, you would see a lot more. It was not just that, the atmosphere felt weird to him. If he had to describe it, it was like a scene from a horror movie in the 90s. He then looked at the hotel sign, which flickered constantly.
"You got to be kidding me…" It was like bad signs were written all over the place. Lucas then shook his head, thinking that most towns have something creepy about them.
"Hey! Are you Lucas?" He looked over and saw two guys shouting at him. From the looks of it both of them seemed Mexican.
"Are you Jordan and Mike?" The leading man nodded, he had a slightly darker skin tone than his companion.
"I'm Jordan and he's Mike." Lucas shook hands with them, then they talked as they were walking towards the hotel.
"Did something happen here?" Mike and Jordan looked at each other, then Mike responded: "Yes! There have been kids missing…we think that the shapeshifter is responsible." Lucas looked at them, then he gazed towards the forest.
"Did you narrow down the search?" If they didn't do this much, he had to reconsider their usefulness.
"We did actually, in the forest near a lake there are dozens of caves and tunnels underground. But we didn't explore further." The fact was that they didn't dare. Lucas glanced at Jordan then nodded. Closing his eyes for a moment, he couldn't imagine the fate of those kids. Could they still be alive?
