Hope's struggling face appeared in his mind, her brave smile as she battled her disease and could still look for tomorrow.

"I must succeed!" Lucas muttered as he glanced back at the shapeshifters on the display.

"No matter how many!" The lights turned off as Lucas' shadow was slowly moving away. •••• The next day, Lucas was drinking coffee while looking down on the town from his building. Soon, a couple of footsteps were heard behind him. He took a sip of the coffee and spoke without turning to look over.

"Do you have any leads?" John, who was about to talk, froze, then shook his head and answered, "Do you really expect that it will be easy to find a scientist according to your needs?" Lucas turned around and looked at him.

"There's no hurry, just keep looking. How's Hope?" John's face lit up at the mention of his daughter, but then his eyes dropped.

"The treatment is barely enough, my heart breaks every time I see her in pain." Lucas didn't know how to comfort him, so he remained silent. Just as they were about to continue their previous conversation, the door opened and Allison walked out.

"Just stuff about the business." Lucas shrugged his shoulders and looked into her eyes. He could also see her change, but it wasn't bad; overcoming a terrible situation can change you for the better or worse. Allison's ears unconsciously tried to hear his heartbeat, but she got nothing. When she looked over at his face, she saw Lucas looking at her with a smirk on his face. She smiled awkwardly and averted her eyes.

"We are late for school!" Lucas smiled at her, then he told John a few words, then he and Allison departed for school. •••• Inside the guidance counselor's office, Marin was packing her stuff. Just as she was about to continue, the door opened and Lucas walked in. He looked around and smiled.

"We had a deal." While still packing her stuff, Marin glanced at him and spoke: "No, you said that you wanted me to work for you after you kill the Alpha Pack, but I never agreed to that." Lucas walked over and stopped her hands from reaching for some items.

"Are you sure that you want to refuse my offer?"

"Are you threatening me?" Marin glanced calmly at his hands, then looked into his eyes. Lucas grabbed the item from her hand, and he pushed her lightly back into her seat. He grabbed the handle and stared deeply into her eyes.

"Monsters will continue to come to Beacon Hills, and I need a Druid whom I can rely on."

"There's my brother if…" Lucas shook his head, stopping her from continuing with the suggestion.

"I want you!" Who would want a bald guy instead of a beautiful woman? The two stared at each other for a few minutes. When Marin saw that she couldn't reason with him, she sighed.

"Fine! But I will not stay long." She lifted her hands in surrender, and Lucas smiled.

"Do you do home counseling?"

"Hmm?" Marin glanced at him in confusion. •••• As soon as Lucas got out of school, he went deep into the forest to look for Malia. It was time to turn her back; he just hoped that it would work. After walking around for ten minutes, he finally sensed something ahead. When he looked over, he saw Malia glancing at him warily. He was confused for a second, then he realized that his aura may have changed once he became an Alpha.

"It's still me." She walked slowly toward him and stopped every few meters to smell his scent. When she arrived in front of him, she opened her mouth and bit his leg.

"Really?" Lucas rolled his eyes at her behavior and gave her a smack on the back of the neck.

"Rrrgg!" She growled at him, but her body was visibly more relaxed.

"I came to turn you back into a human." He crouched and stared down into her eyes. He could see the confusion in them at his words. His eyes turned red, and Malia was already starting to get agitated. Just as she was about to retreat, Lucas grabbed her by the back of the neck.

"ROARHH!" The sound shook the entire forest and even made many supernatural creatures in Beacon Hills tremble in fear.
