Chương 158: By Blood And Silence

This sight made everyone gasp in shock, especially Allison.

"Lucas!" Allison's face trembled and tears formed in her eyes, just as she was about to teleport next to him, her body was suddenly hit and sent right into the wall. Turns out, when everybody was distracted, the Oni that was fighting Scott took the chance to attack her. Scott's body froze and he didn't know what to do, his best friend had just stabbed Lucas, and… he couldn't even be sure that figure was still his friend.

Lydia and Malia didn't have the chance to worry as they hurriedly defended Allison, who was about to be attacked again.

"Puff! You think that you've won?" Blood came out of Lucas' mouth, but he still spoke, his gaze was unwavering despite what happened. Stiles grinned in enjoyment at the sight of Lucas injured.

"You may think that you're smart, but I'm a thousand-year-old fox." Feeling his heart beginning to slow down, Lucas raised his spear, wanting to kill the Nogitsune. Just then, two Oni appeared and immobilized his right hand. And one appeared by his left hand, just then the strongest of the Oni put its sword against his chest and began putting pressure on it. Lucas' skin glowed slightly as his obsidian defense tried to remain unbroken.

The Oni to his left suddenly went next to the strongest and also stabbed with its sword almost in the exact spot.

"Crack!" Suddenly, his defense broke and two more swords pierced his body. Lucas looked down at his chest, strangely he couldn't feel pain anymore and he had a weird sensation of finally being able to rest. Void Stiles smirked when he saw Lucas' expression, he had won. Just the thought of how he hid, fearing Lucas discovering him, made him hate Lucas even more. Lucas' red eyes dimmed and turned normal, blood dripped from his body onto the ground.

He stared at Void Stiles with such a look that even the fearsome Nogitsune suddenly got chills and unconsciously stepped back. Realizing what happened, his expression turned ugly, he, the Dark Spirit feared by all, had just gotten scared by a dying man. In rage, he pushed Lucas, making him fall helplessly on his back. The swords returned to their owners, but the damage to the heart was already done.

Blood seeped into the ground and Lucas smiled while still staring at Void Stiles, and suddenly he spoke and his words traveled through the space.

"Cough! To achieve something…you must lose something else…" The Nogitsune looked at him slightly confused, but that faded quickly as Lucas' heart gave one last beat and stopped.

"Nooo!" Allison screamed in sorrow as she felt like her own heart was broken into pieces. While Malia stopped moving altogether, memories of the first time she met him flashed in her mind, the time he played with her and the first time he fed her. A tear ran down from her eye as she closed them in pain. Lydia's body trembled as this scene looked exactly like in her vision, and Lucas' smiling face as he told her not to worry appeared in her mind.

"Why…."

"Ahhhh!" Lydia suddenly screamed and a wave of air headed straight for the Oni and the Nogitsune. Void Stiles managed to dodge in time, but the Oni were sent flying through the air. He glanced at the Oni, then at Lydia.

"Ah, a Banshee… can you see your own death?" Void Stiles lifted his chin to the right and smiled as he observed Lydia's expression. Everybody's attention was on the Nogitsune now, while Lucas' body on the ground remained unmoved, his blood slowly entered the ground. It didn't stop there and seeped through the cracks, and soon it dripped into a bigger space, strangely enough, that space was already filled with blood.

The moment Lucas' first drop of blood fell, something seemed to change in the pool of blood, and slowly the blood traveled back toward Lucas' body. Although to others it seemed like his blood was constantly flowing down, what was happening was the opposite. Suddenly, a strange formation lit up on the ground and all of them looked shocked by this sight since it covered all of them. It was all drawn in blood, and something strange was on it.

"Sanguine et Silentio" (By Blood and Silence).

"What's this?" The Nogitsune looked at the ground in confusion as even he was shocked by this turn of events. Then suddenly, a shiver ran down his spine, and he immediately looked at Lucas' body. It was now covered in a thin layer of blood, and the Nogitsune immediately sensed that something bad was going to happen. He then turned around and roared angrily at the Oni.

"Kill him! Kill him now!" The Oni vanished and appeared right next to Lucas' body, just as they were about to plunge their swords into him, Lucas' eyes opened and only pure darkness appeared in those eyes.

"Boom!" The layer of blood disappeared and with it, a shock emitted all around his body, sending the Oni flying helplessly into the distance.
