A few days had passed since his discussion with Steven. While he was training with Allison and helping her control her strength, his men were quietly making a net around the town. Every key location had at least one person, even a foreign fly would get reported to him. While the hunters were waiting for the right moment to strike, he was doing the same. But this time it was different, he would use his men to the fullest of their abilities.
He didn't hire them to babysit an empty building, but to slowly make them full-fledged hunters. While he was thinking, Lucas kept dodging Allison's strikes without even looking.
"I'm talking to you!" Allison stopped and looked at him angrily. Lucas was stunned for a second, then he smiled as he found her angry expression cute.
"I'm sorry! What did my lady say?" He bowed and put his hand on his chest. Allison's angry face slowly subsided as she couldn't help but smile at his shenanigans.
"You said that hunters will come to hunt you, should we do something?" He didn't answer immediately and walked to the table and drank some water. He then looked back at her.
"Our men are already working on it, if I had to do everything why should I keep them around?" It's like being filthy rich and still trying to make some noodles for yourself. Although he liked noodles, Lucas liked them more when he didn't need to make that effort.
"Got it! Should I prepare?" Allison looked slightly nervous as she gazed at him. Even though she had killed Gerard before, this would be the first time she would have a direct confrontation against other hunters, and now she was a shapeshifter too. Lucas smiled at her overreaction and gently stroked her cheeks.
"No, in this operation we will use only guns, no shapeshifter abilities." If you stumble upon this narrative on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen from Royal Road. Please report it. Showing his men this directly could lead to one of them maybe shooting him from behind. He had to slowly train them and show them his part of the world. Besides, he hadn't used guns except for training in a long time and he kind of missed it. Even though she looked regretful, a part of her was relieved.
These past few days were a tormenting time for her, every time she went home she feared that her parents would find out about her. Just as they were about to continue, Lucas got a text from John telling him to go to the main room. He showed it to her and both made their way outside. When they got there, they saw John looking weirdly at Malia. She was on the couch and was looking at the big screen, the weird part was the remote in her mouth.
Lucas' mouth twitched, he was sure that this girl was doing it on purpose as a sign of protest. These past few days he had Marin come every day to teach her, and Allison helped too. The problem was that she was a stubborn coyote, and still didn't say a word.
"Malia! How many times have I told you? Not the remote, you're not a dog!" He could only helplessly ignore John's expression and went to her and grabbed the remote. He didn't forget to let her feel his love and gave her a very gentle knock on her head.
"Ouch!" Malia jumped off the couch and looked at him in shock as she massaged her head. It seemed that his "gentle" knock wasn't so gentle.
"Look at that! Our baby spoke!" Lucas looked at Allison and made an exaggerated expression. John felt like he had entered a mental hospital, he couldn't help but rethink his life choices of agreeing to work for Lucas. He was practically worked to death and Lucas dumped all the business on him, he didn't even get a raise. He slowly lifted his hand and looked at Lucas.
"Should I leave you guys alone?" He then gazed at Malia with pity, as if she was mentally unstable. Malia sensed him looking at her, and when she saw his expression she couldn't help but growl, wanting to take a piece of him.
"Alright, alright!" Lucas stepped in between them before John could get his ass beat by a teenager, or worse, ripped apart.
"Tell me." He then gestured toward John and sat close to Malia, looking to keep her in check. John gazed at Malia and sat down a bit further from them.
"Our men have started spotting suspicious people who kept coming to Beacon Hills, some even close to your house." Lucas listened carefully and nodded, his house location wasn't a big secret.
"Did you follow them?"
"Yes, at first we lost them, but Owen was able to keep track and discovered their location."
"Good." Lucas was satisfied with the work of his men, the money spent wasn't for nothing.
"They are located on…"
