Lucas observed the monster in front of him calmly, his eyes intently monitoring his every move. Suddenly, the Wendigo lunged at him, his monstrous rows of teeth were heading straight for his body. Lucas muscles contracted. When the Wendigo arrived right before him, his entire body spun. With the momentum, Lucas spear collided straight with the Wendigo's arm.
"Ugh!" The momentum traveled straight into the side of his stomach; his entire body arched as he was sent directly into the cement wall. The moment he made contact with the wall, cracks appeared on it, and dust spread all across the basement. Lucas expression froze for a moment, then he looked at his hands in astonishment. Having fought almost always against monsters at the level of an alpha, this kind of overwhelming force surprised him.
Even Derek, who had just become Alpha, was somewhat physically stronger than him. This is the exact reason he decided not to be passive anymore, and start hunting for real. Lucas concentrated his attention back on the Wendigo; his senses could feel it was slowly gathering its strength so that it could strike before the dust settled. Suddenly, the Wendigo acted; he crawled on the ground trying to make his body invisible.
Lucas looked speechless at this fool; the Wendigo's white eyes were like a lantern in the dark, making him clearly visible. He now knew why the description said some could rival Alpha's strength, but some Wendigos got their ass beat just by some humans. The Wendigo's intelligence was overwhelmed by its insatiable hunger. Just as the Wendigo could crawl and strike his feet, Lucas brought down the spear from above, directly on its head. It was like a strike from heaven.
Unauthorized duplication: this tale has been taken without consent. Report sightings. Even though it was with the blunt side, the strike made the Wendigo's face deeply embedded into the concrete floor. Even his shouts of pain were suppressed by this. From the back of his head, blood poured down on the ground, the sight was disturbing, making it look like Lucas was the bad guy. The Wendigo's body twitched constantly from this blow, but strangely he was still trying to get up.
Lucas watched this without stopping him, then he put the spear on a table. He twisted his hands slightly and lunged at the Wendigo, who had barely gotten up.
"Raaagh!" Seeing him barehanded, the Wendigo roared in fury and pain.
"Thud!" His roaring suddenly stopped as Lucas fist slammed straight into his mouth. Lucas didn't give him a chance to breathe and struck again; before the Wendigo could do something, Lucas slammed him back to the floor. Lucas eyes were staring violently at the Wendigo underneath him. The Wendigo's eyes slowly turned back to its human form.
"Please spar…" Before the Wendigo could utter the remaining words, Lucas fists rained down on its face. He violently struck his face continuously for a couple of minutes. Blood poured down from his hands as the Wendigo's face became unrecognizable. His face was dented, as if a hammer had done this. His front teeth were now nonexistent; his body twitched less and less with time, when suddenly it stopped altogether. Lucas raised his head to the ceiling; a smile formed on his lips.
His face was filled with blood splattered from the Wendigo's face. He looked more like a crazy serial killer than anything else. His eyes were pulsating crazily, then a wave of energy from the Wendigo's body entered his own body. This energy made his body tremble in joy; he even felt his skinwalker part finally calming down, as if this finally satisfied its hunger.
"Huh?" Lucas closed his eyes in surprise, as he felt his predatory ability sending him some kind of choice. It was a choice between strengthening an existing ability or using this energy to awaken a new one. Lucas opened his eyes; he struggled visibly with this choice. His werewolf side could be strengthened too, but he felt it—the effects would not be anywhere near the skinwalker side. The potential of the werewolf he killed was too low to compare with the skinwalker.
That's why killing Peter was so important to him, but that didn't go as planned and was all ruined by Scott and Derek. Just thinking of Derek made his eyes fill with killing intent. He then quickly stabilized his emotions; the biggest mistake was his own. He became complacent with his own situation, forgetting that there were many terrifying shapeshifters that could come in Beacon Hills at any moment.
Lucas then concentrated back on his ability; his face frowned as he thought of the most suitable choice for his situation. Lucas then took a deep breath, as if finally deciding what to choose. When he finally decided, his ability automatically transferred the energy to the desired direction.
