"Stiles, do it!" Derek stared at Stiles' trembling hand, urging him to cut his arm.
"But Lucas just told me he got the bullet." Scott's eyes darted around his arm, worried that Stiles would suddenly cut it off.
"I don't have much time anymore." Derek gritted his teeth in pain while looking at Scott. Before they could continue, a voice broke their conversation.
"I guess I'm interrupting something." Lucas' gaze swept the room, then concentrated his attention on the bone saw in Stiles' hand. Stiles dropped the saw on the table with a sigh of relief.
"Lucas!" Scott exclaimed, happy that he was finally here. Derek, on the other hand, stared at him closely.
"Do you have the bullet?"
"Yes."
"Then give it to me!" Derek's patience was already running dry; the pain made him even more angry. Lucas walked slowly, a few more steps closer to the table. He glanced indifferently at Derek.
"Why should I help you?" The moment he uttered those words, a brief silence remained in the room. Scott's eyes widened, and Stiles looked constantly between the two of them. Derek's eyes narrowed, his eyebrows lowering slightly.
"I don't have time for this, kid." Derek impatiently stretched his hand toward Lucas' chest; the unbearable, increasing pain made him even more anxious. This content has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere. Slap. A hitting sound echoed in the room the moment Derek's hand approached his chest. Lucas swatted it away effortlessly. Derek's eyes widened as he stared at his hand, then at him.
Before he could think further, his body shook in pain, and, gritting his teeth, he asked: "What do you want?" Lucas pondered for a second, then replied: "For now, nothing, but you'll owe me a favor." Derek nodded, then stretched his hand forward. Lucas then gave him the bullet. He watched as Derek opened it, burning the wolfsbane inside and quickly stuffing all the ash into his wound. Derek screamed in agony as he dug his fingers deeper into the wound, then fell to the floor, his body constantly twisting in pain.
After the screams, a brief silence followed. Then Derek slowly got up; the black lines on his arms vanished, and the wound completely healed. He stared coldly at Lucas, as if wanting to take a piece of him. Lucas, on the other hand, put his hands in his pockets, watching Derek with interest. That's it, I feel it. When Derek was dying, he barely felt it, but now his predatory ability seemed to have awakened. It was like a desire to kill the being in front of him and extinguish the threat.
Could the threat posed to me be a factor, or simply the desire to hurt me? Lucas thought about what it meant, then the corner of his eyes briefly checked Scott. He then shifted his gaze back to Derek, his lips curling upward slightly, observing him with interest. Lucas' body shifted slightly, his left leg stepping forward. He then took his hands out of his pockets. All this was done slowly and naturally. Do it!
Lucas' gaze concentrated on Derek; a part of his body was like a starving wolf, waiting for his prey to make a move. Derek's gaze on him only lasted a few more seconds before involuntarily shifting. The more Derek watched him, the more a sense of unease grew within him; he could only tell himself to calm down.
"Thank you. I will keep my promise." Derek spoke in a low tone as he faced Lucas again. Scott and Stiles breathed a sigh of relief, seeing the tension finally easing up between them. Then Lucas turned around, wanting to leave. Before completely crossing the doorway, Derek spoke.
"Who are you, really?" Lucas didn't turn around; he only briefly answered: "Just someone trying to survive." Then he walked away from their sight. Derek's eyes lingered at the door for a moment before turning toward Scott.
"He's dangerous. You should stay away from him." Scott looked strangely at him; before he could say something, Stiles sarcastically spoke.
"Buddy, if you haven't noticed, the only dangerous one here is you." Derek gave Stiles a cold glare, making his eyes dart around.
"Did you tell him about the Argents and that you could find the bullet in their possession?" Scott tried to recall the conversation with Lucas, then his eyes went wide as he remembered that he had never mentioned the Argents. At that time, he never thought about it. Lucas responded as if he could easily resolve the problem, so he ignored it.
"See what I mean." Seeing Scott's expression, Derek knew he had hit a nerve. Scott then shook his head.
"That still doesn't mean he is dangerous. Plus, he saved your life; you should at least be thankful." Looking at the two of them, Derek shook his head and left, not wanting to waste more time on them.
