The smile on Lucas face only made him more irritated, then suddenly, before he could act, his senses flared up, his instinct screamed danger. Peter's pupils shrank, then he looked towards the house in apprehension. His eyes narrowed as he glanced back at Lucas. He was sure now that Lucas was not just acting brave. Peter observed him a few more seconds, then, without continuing talking, he turned around and left. Lucas's smile slowly vanished from his face as he stared coldly at Peter's back.
He really wanted to take the opportunity to kill Peter here. This would have been the easiest way. He didn't just design his house to protect him; it could be used as a prison too. Once Peter was trapped inside, he would be helpless; then Lucas could even burn the house to the ground if needed, or just fill it with smoke from wolfsbane. Unfortunately, his wishes were not granted, and now he had to take the hard way. Not more than an hour passed, and someone else was already knocking on his door.
When he went outside, he saw that it was Stiles and Scott. It could be seen that Scott's eyes were a bit agitated.
"Lucas!"
"We have a problem! Peter is constantly following me." Scott looked desperate when he said that. Who in the right mind would like it when a crazy killer showed up at their front door? Lucas looked left and right, observing and sensing that there was no one; he turned towards them.
"Then you must be lucky, he was here just an hour ago." Stiles' face dropped, then he looked around in panic.
"Why would he come here?!" A case of content theft: this narrative is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.
"To ask where Derek is." Scott and Stiles glanced at each other, then Scott quickly asked:"Do you know where he is?!"
"And what did you tell him?!" Lucas just looked at him for a few seconds, then responded:"I didn't tell him anything. As for Derek? Why would I care about him?" Stiles observed his reaction, then asked curiously:"So you know?" Lucas nodded without care. Then both of them stared at him, thinking that they would get an answer, but Lucas remained silent. Scott's patience was running out, and he slowly started getting frustrated.
"Tell us, please!"
"As I stated, I have no interest in that."
"Tell me!!" Scott's eyes turned yellow as he raised his voice, taking a few steps aggressively towards him. In that moment, Lucas felt a sense of hunger within him. His predatory ability awakened; his instincts were telling him to finish off and devour the threat. Lucas felt it; it was a hunger deeper than he experienced with the first werewolf, as if Scott was of higher quality. He licked his lips involuntarily, then focused on Scott, wondering what to do with this hormonal werewolf.
"Scott… I think that you forgot what I do for a living…" Stiles' pupils shrank, then he quickly pulled Scott, trying to calm him down.
"Buddy, we can find out about Derek in another way." Looking at Scott, Lucas was starting to get annoyed by his gaze; he tried really hard to suppress his killing intent. Lucas closed his eyes, feeling that he might slit his throat any moment now, then he spoke in a low voice.
"Stiles! Get him out of here! Before I kill him!"
"Sounds good to me!" Stiles didn't want to find out if he really meant it; he pulled Scott desperately away. Scott's eyes slowly turned back; by now he realized he'd gone overboard, but Stiles didn't give him a chance to say anything and pulled him away. Sensing that they were gone, Lucas slowly opened his eyes, which were now fully changed. The silver veins from his left eye spread even further, reaching down to his neck. A low grunt of pain escaped his mouth; he arched his back as he tried controlling himself.
Then he began chanting constantly:"Three things cannot long be hidden: the sun, the moon, and the truth." Lucas repeated this for a few minutes. After some time, the silver veins on his neck slowly started receding back, just as they were before. Lucas breathed heavily as his eyes changed back; he then sat on the floor without care. The only thought in his mind was why this happened. Remembering Scott's actions, he realized that for the first time, Scott had bad intentions towards him.
But the most important thing was why he had such a large desire to kill him. Even with Peter, that didn't happen; his ability was always active with him also, but never this violent. Lucas thought of the difference between them, and between Scott and him. Suddenly, a thought came to mind: "prey". That's right—prey. There was a difference between him and Scott, and that was the huge difference in strength. Scott was like an easy target, a bold deer trying to be threatening.
