While Lucas was teaching Allison, Scott and Stiles were in front of the gate of the parking lot. Scott then tried to climb out, but seeing Stiles wanting to do the same, he stopped him.
"Stiles, you need to stay here to keep watch." Scott put his hand in front of him while explaining. Stiles' expression fell.
"Why do I feel that you're Batman and I'm Robin?"
"No one is Batman or Robin, Stiles." Scott could only helplessly remind him. Stiles looked at him hopefully and asked:"Not even sometimes?"
"No!" Scott looked at him insistently.
"Fine." He threw his hands in the air and backed away. Seeing him finally give up, Scott swiftly climbed up the gate and made his way to the school bus. He carefully entered the bus, looking around at every spot, in the distance he even saw some blood on the seat. Scott then let his senses feel the surroundings, as he slowly walked, more scenes started flashing in his mind. He saw the man trying to reach for him, screaming and begging for his life, then he was quickly pulled away by the figure in the dark.
Scott retreated in panic, then in the distance he saw someone. The figure grabbed the bus seat like it was a toy and threw it right at him. The memory stopped as he saw lights flashing outside, he quickly ran outside, with an effortless maneuver he climbed a car and jumped the fence. "Drive, drive." He prompted Stiles while catching his breath. Stiles quickly drove off, as they were driving he turned towards Scott and curiously asked:"So, did you remember something?" Scott nodded.
"It wasn't me who did that, I tried to save him, it was Derek." Stiles looked at him in shock.
"Then why would he tell you how to remember?"
"I don't know." Scott could only helplessly shrug his shoulders. Thinking of something, Stiles quickly told him:"Maybe it was some kind of pack thing, an initiation to do the kill together."
"Like ripping someone's throat out is a really bonding experience," Scott replied sarcastically.
"Yeah, but you didn't do it, so it means you're not a killer." Stiles added, happy that his throat would not be ripped out anytime soon. Scott realized this too, and smiled. Lucas was explaining to Allison some of the mountain ash and wolfsbane uses, and how they could be used against shapeshifters.
"You said a beta will change its eye color to blue when he takes an innocent life, right?" She curiously asked him. Lucas looked at her as he thought of someone in this situation, then he shook his head.
"It's not that simple, a beta could even think he was the one responsible and still have blue eyes, it's like a stain on the soul. Even if the werewolf finds out that he's not responsible, he's still going to have blue eyes." Allison nodded as she tried not to forget these details.
"I know what you think, but blue eyes aren't exactly a good indicator of guilt, do not be quick to judge, and know there are humans more evil than a shapeshifter could ever be." As he was speaking, he thought of the werewolf he killed, when his ability activated Lucas didn't put much thought into it and made up his mind to kill him for his power.
When he saw the werewolf's eyes, Lucas found an excuse to not feel guilty about his actions, but as time passed he realized these emotions didn't affect him, it's like something inside him grew distant from guilt, unaffected by it. His right eye remaining the same was proof of it, Lucas even had an extreme thought, if he killed someone he truly found innocent, his emotions would not even sway. He shook his head, throwing these kinds of thoughts out of his mind.
Allison, on the other hand, was in deep thought as she listened to his advice, then asked something that stunned him.
"Could hunters be evil?" Lucas looked deeply into her eyes, he saw some hesitation and hope for his answer.
"Yes, some hunters have a so-called code, but they bend it as they please, they are monsters in human flesh." Lucas honestly told her the truth, knowing that one day she would find out her closest relatives were those monsters. Allison nodded, her gaze hesitant, wanting to ask a question but afraid of what the answer would be. Then she changed the subject.
"Do you have a code?" He stared at her, knowing she was still hesitant to know about some things, but he didn't dwell on it too much.
"Yes, my family has its own motto, they follow it until their deaths." Allison was now conflicted, thinking she had stirred some bad memories. Lucas looked into her eyes as he muttered his motto.
"Sa…"
