Long Feng was already numb to this. He had met more Deity and Dao realm masters since the hundred continent meeting than he had seen in his whole life. Except during the Yin ghost forest fight where thousands of powerful cultivators from the mainland attacked the Yin ghosts. The head warden glanced at the shadowy figure and frowned.
"Old thing, I've brought a new brat. Name is Long Feng. Get his details down and give him his token." He shouted. The person in the shadows seemed to raise their head.
"New disciple? I seem to remember that the entrance test ended a year ago?" A tired voice echoed through the room.
"Oh? So you still know how to measure time? Good. The test ended a year ago, but this kid was brought by Lord Ao." The head warden replied. The person froze briefly before slowly rising and stepping out of the darkness, revealing another old man with a lethargic face. His expression was white serious at the moment.
"Lord Ao? Which Lord Ao?" He asked. The head warden snorted.
"Are you getting senile? Which Lord Ao do you know of?" The old man fell silent briefly, then he glanced at Long Feng.
"I thought…" he began but the Head Warden interrupted him.
"Yeah yeah. I know what you think, and I wondered so as well. Just get him his token and get over with this."
"What's special about him?" The old man asked again.
"Old Man, you're beginning to annoy me with your questions. Can't you just do your job?" The head warden grumbled but still replied, "There's nothing at all. His cultivation is exactly as you see it. Barely good. His talent…" he froze as he thought about his crazy thought earlier and shrugged it off.
"He is a low rank mortal grade talent. His combat power seems high though. He almost got three thousand points in the warrior tower." The old man pondered silently for a few minutes before he gets sighed.
"Why am I trying to stress this old brain of mine. I can't understand what that guy is thinking." He turned to Long Feng.
"Sit kid." Long Feng had been listening to their conversation casually and didn't really understand a single thing, but for someone who already had many mysteries surrounding him that didn't make sense, everything else was actually very reasonable. He sat down cross legged without a word and waited in silence. The old man walked over till he was standing before Long Feng then he raised a skinny and dry looking arm from beneath his robes. He slowly extended the arm and tapped a single finger on Long Feng's forehead.
Long Feng's heartbeat instantly slowed and nearly came to a halt. An extremely powerful soul power, far beyond anything he had been imagined surged into his soul core and completely ignored his defenses, breaking into his soul world. Long Feng's consciousness instantly went blurry and he fell unconscious, or rather, semi conscious. His eyes were half closed and his expression was blank, as though he was being controlled. But judging from the head warden's calm expression, it would appear that this was normal.
The old man then lifted his finger and calmly stared at Long Feng.
"What is your name?" He asked. Long Feng's expression was completely blank and even dull as he replied, "Long Feng."
"Where are you from?"
"Yihua Continent."
"The continent zone?" Both the old man and the head warden asked simultaneously, expressing their surprise. This narrative has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road. If you see it on Amazon, please report it.
"Yes." Long Feng nodded his head dimly.
"Unbelievable. Who would expect that Lord Ao would go to the backwater continent zone?" The head warden remarked.
"We can't understand what he thinks." The old man replied and turned back to Long Feng.
"What's your clan? Describe it."
"Long Clan, two hundred years history in the Star Mountain City of the Jianhai province."
"How strong is the clan chief?"
"Rank one Yang realm."
"Do you have any ulterior motives or thoughts for joining the Supreme Heaven Sect?"
"No."
"Why do you wish to join the Supreme Heaven Sect?" Long Feng remained silent at this question, causing the old man to frown.
"He's resisting? Impressive." He extended his arm and tapped Long Feng's forehead again, then he asked the question a second time.
"Why do you wish to join the Supreme Heaven Sect?"
"I… want to become strong." Long Feng replied.
"Hm. Strength… that's what almost all of them say. Nothing suspicious." The old man glanced at the head warden and replied. The head warden frowned and asked Long Feng, "Why? Why do you want to become strong?" Long Feng froze once more and even his blank expression showed some signs of struggle. Both the head warden and the old man were obviously startled.
"This kid… he's able to resist your soul power? This…" The Head Warden's heart began to beat slightly faster than before as his previous unease began to return again.
"Indeed. It is very rare for someone to resist my soul power, twice." The old man replied with a nod as he placed his whole palm on Long Feng's forehead.
"That should do it." The head warden nodded and asked again.
"Why do you want to become strong?"
"I… want to kill someone."
"Kill someone? Who is that?" The head warden asked again. The old man beside him glanced at him in surprise. The Head Warden seemed to be particularly interested in this kid, otherwise he wouldn't ask so much. Everyone had their secrets and as long as it didn't affect the interests of the Sect as a whole, then anyone was welcome.
"H-he…" Long Feng actually froze a third time, shocking both old men staring at him. The willpower required to resist this special questioning method was unbelievable. Doing it once was possible, a few had resisted before. Twice was extremely rare and the old man couldn't count how many youths had resisted twice in the last hundred or so years. As for thrice? This would be the first time since he could remember.
"Why are you so interested in the kid? Everyone has their secrets." The old man spoke. The head warden shook his head.
"Everyone has their secrets, but this kid… there are some things I need to know." He glanced at Long Feng again.
"Tell me your secrets!"
"I…" the moment Long Feng opened his mouth to speak, an invisible force seemed to seal his mouth, preventing him from speaking. He couldn't speak a single word no matter how hard he tried, or how hard the head warden urged and the old man tried to strengthen his power; they were all pointless. Long Feng was unable to say a thing. And strangely, none of the two Dao realm masters could sense anything off. He was in a semi conscious state where anything he was asked, he would answer to the best of his knowledge.
But when he was asked to say his secrets, his instincts kicked in. He absolutely could not reply, otherwise he would be signing and sealing his own death, catastrophe for everyone related to him and complete chaos in the world. After a few minutes, the old man frowned.
"You're beginning to take this too far. If I don't stop now, then his soul will really be injured severely. He couldn't even lose his sanity. We have confirmed that he has no ulterior motives for joining the sect. That's all we need to know!" He grumbled. The head warden's frown deepened as he stared deeply at Long Feng then sighed.
"You're right. I got carried away. He has passed all the tests and is now officially an outer disciple of the sect." He replied. The old man nodded and waved his hand, withdrawing his soul power from Long Feng's soul world. Long Feng's unfocused eyes regained their focus and he instinctively jumped backwards while staring at the two old men with caution. He couldn't recall anything that happened after he fell unconscious, and that was exactly what made him cautious.
Anything could happen in that time, like some of his secrets being unearthed. The two old men stared at him calmly.
"You've passed all three tests. Congratulations. You're now an outer peak disciple of the Supreme Heaven Sect." The Head Warden plainly spoke. Long Feng's caution lessened but didn't vanish completely. He clasped his fist and lowered his head slightly.
"Thank you, Head Warden." The old man suddenly threw something at Long Feng. The latter reacted instantly and grabbed it, his caution rising to the peak again. But he found out that the object was actually a token made if some unknown item that was extremely soft yet tough. This was his identity token as a disciple of the Supreme Heaven Sect! The token was dark golden in color. I'm front, the words 'Supreme Heaven Sect' were written boldly in black.
Behind, the words 'Outer Peak' and 'Long Feng' were written as well. Long Feng held the token tightly and smiled in relief. With this token, it was already official. He was a true disciple of the Sect.
"If you send your consciousness into the token, you will find a map of the outer peak. The pavilions that are dark signifies an empty pavilion, so you can pick one among them. The token also functions as a small storage space. You will find two sets of robes in there; those are the only robes you are allowed to wear within the sect. Each disciple is entitled to some resources each month. You'll find yours in there, and next time, you'll need to head to the Resources Hall to accept your monthly resources.
There is a jade that contains the general introduction and details of the sect, including rules, as well as your obligations and advantages. I'd advise you not to break break any rule or fail to fulfill your obligations, otherwise, let's just say you won't like the experience." The old man slowly explained. Long Feng quickly sent his consciousness into the token and was pleasantly surprised to find a map as well as a storage space.
The map was detailed to the mark, and inside the storage space, there were two sets of robes similar to the one every disciple he had seen was wearing. There were also several bottles of pills and hundreds of Imperial crystals.
"Thank you, Senior." He thanked the old man.
"No need to thank me. I'm just doing my job. Also, new disciples can receive a single mid mortal grade cultivation manual as well as two low rank mortal grade Dao skills. You'll get both at the Myriad Techniques Hall. Finally, you can enter two of the Sect's Dao comprehension grounds for two hours each and one minor trial land when it opens. Everything are in the jade. Go through it." The old man replied and added.
Long Feng listened to him blankly and decided to thoroughly read the jade to understand everything the old man was speaking of. They all sounded like really good things.
"You can leave. Both of you." The old man turned around and returned to his darkness where he sat down and continued his brooding.
"This is everything. The Jade will explain to you all you need to know. Go find a house." The Head Warden glanced at Long Feng and walked out of the room before he vanished. Long Feng held the token tight and walked out of the room, back into the large empty hall. He didn't slow down and quickly left the palace entirely, meeting hundreds of disciples scattered outside. His exit drew their attentions. They all seemed to be waiting for something.
"Who is that? He went in with the Head Warden earlier. He's not dressed in the sect uniform?" Someone asked.
"I've no idea. The entrance test ended last year so it can't possibly be a new disciple right?"
"Right. If so, then who is he?" The disciples were originally bored, so this quickly became a new topic for them to waste time. Luckily, none of them were present in the training ground earlier, otherwise they'd have certainly recognized Long Feng, the new 'trash talent' of the Sect.
