In the sky very high above the Long clan valley, at a height where even the Yin monarchs and others at the same level as them would be unable to reach, two figures could be seen floating causally, looking down at the Long clan. One of them was a slightly huge man with tough skin dressed in fur. He gave off a savage vibe that was ruined by the slightly silky smile he had on his face.
He stared down at the Long clan, his gaze focusing on Long Feng's figure as though the distance and buildings between them didn't exist.
"He isn't bad. But he's still far too shabby compared to my expectations" the man said with a smile. He turned to the person beside him.
"Wu Kong, you've been with him for a while. Tell me, how good is he?" The person standing bedside him was actually Wu Kong, Long Feng's master!
"His talent is passable. His personality is a bit weak and he needs some tempering. His will is good but not enough. He is too naive. But his recent experience seems to have reduced some of his naivety" Wu Kong replied expressionlessly. The fact that this man stood beside Wu Kong and spoke to him as equals, it could be seen that he was probably from the same place as Wu Kong with similar heaven sundering powers. The man was a bit startled by Wu Kong's words, then he laughed"Do you have a beef against the kid?
You sound like you don't like him. But then again, that's how you are. Try smiling for real one day" Wu Kong ignored the man, his gaze focused on Long Feng as well. The man continued"Wu Kong, what do you think of him." He asked again more seriously.
"He should. The kid is filled with a determination to grow stronger. I think he is good. And he'll only get better" Wu Kong slowly replied. The man nodded heavily"That's good. It's about time you returned too. Master's plans aren't a secret to those old undeads. They won't allow it to succeed. They're soon going to flip the Nine Heavens in a bid to find him. We need to keep them occupied" Wu Kong looked up with an icy glint in his eyes"That's also good. I haven't shown myself for a long time.
It's time for us to come out of hiding and show those old things who are the rulers. If they want to find him, then we'll throw the Nine Heavens into Chaos!" The man laughed thunderously"That's exactly what I'm saying! There hasn't been much changes among us. The Chaos Tablet master left behind lit up about a decade ago during that mysterious phenomena, but there's nothing on it" Wu Kong nodded"That's about the time he was born. We have a bigger issue now.
The Chaos Spirit did take control of him and unleashed a tiny aura of Chaos into the void. I'm afraid those old things would sense this chaos energy and things might not be good" The man also stopped laughing"That's right. I also sensed it as I was coming. In that case, they would also sense it soon. They would know that the Chaos Spirit did coexist within him" Wu Kong closed his eyes for a minute then reopened them calmly"It doesn't matter if they find out. It's not a secret anyway.
Now, all we need is to buy time for him to grow stronger, Without interference" saying this, Wu Kong suddenly waved his hand below. Above Long Feng's room, the air suddenly warped and the figure of a person appeared briefly before it was swallowed by the void.
"Oh. I also sensed that person. He should be guarding the kid right?" The man asked curiously.
"That's right. He has been with the kid for a decade now. But he doesn't need any protection otherwise that could interfere with his growth. He must survive everything by himself" Wu Kong replied calmly. The man smiled"That's a bit too harsh. But then again, he's no ordinary person. But that man protecting him was a divine being. That is far beyond this puny lower plane. What could have brought him here?"
"The kid has a bit of a complicated family background. That could have been a family member sent to watch over him" Wu Kong replied indifferently.
"Ah. Then he'll probably be in some trouble after you threw him into space. Hahaha!" The man laughed again.
"Let's leave. The sooner we return, the sooner we can stir up some Chaos in the Nine Heavens!" The man added, licking his lower lip excitedly. Wu Kong slowly shook his head"I'll wait till he breaks though. That should merely take a few days. Then we can leave". He replied. The man smiled and nodded, falling silent while they both watched Long Feng's quiet comprehension. This book is hosted on another platform. Read the official version and support the author's work.
Long Feng was once again immersed in a state where his mind was blank with no thoughts other than various enlightenments of the Dao. A faint light appeared in a part of his Dantian, completely overshadowed and suppressed by the dense demon energy that filled this area. But the light was tenacious, refusing to be snuffed out as it stood it's ground. This light was the representation of Long Feng's light Dao concept, which was about to reach level one.
"Light… a power that stands in complete opposition to darkness. Two extremes that signifies Yin and Yang in the truest sense. They are vastly different yet vastly similar at the same time. In that case, reversing my understanding of the demon Dao will equal to increasing my comprehension of the light Dao!" Long Feng muttered blankly as the tiny strand of bright light rapidly grew in size, density and power. Rank one light Dao concept! Ten minutes later… Rank two light Dao concept! An hour later…
Rank three light Dao concept. Half a day later… Rank four light Dao concept! Long Feng would have been astounded by this speed of comprehension. At this rate, he wouldn't need the few days he imagined. Just a day or two would be enough. This was because he chose a unique method of comprehending light, and that was to invert his understanding of the darkness, the demon Dao. By doing this, he was rapidly raising his light Dao concept and also connecting it in an inexplicable way to his demon Dao.
This was because they both shared the exact same understanding, just opposites. It was like two sides of a coin. Although this connection didn't seem very important now, it was actually brilliant. This was because If any of the two Daos surpassed the other in the future, Long Feng could simply invert his understanding of that higher Dao to increase the lower one and catch up, keeping them equal. This method had effective decreased the disadvantage of cultivating multiple Daos and splitting one's time and attention.
Two days later, Long Feng's surrounding was completely filled with endless darkness that could devour light and also pure light that could melt the darkness. Although the light was still a bit inferior, it was rapidly growing. A few hours later, it reached the exact same level as the demon Dao; rank seven light Dao concept! In just three days, Long Feng has comprehended the grand Dao of light from nothing to rank seven concept level! This was enough to shock even the mainland a bit!
At this moment, within the center of the blazing bright light, a pure white rotating ball of energy could be seen. And in the center of the demon energy, a similar sized ball of demon energy could be seen. The two energies dominated half of this area each, none giving way to the other even a bit. Long Feng had to push his full soul energy to keep the two energies under control and prevent them from colliding and causing great damage to him.
"This is a huge danger! If these two extreme energies collide, they can cause an explosion that could kill me if I'm careless!" Long Feng realized In shock.
"How the hell am I supposed to create a spirit core with these two energies that wouldn't even agree to share the same body?" Both of them had reached rank seven Dao concept level, but the current issue was that they were like two blood enemies now. Just being close to each other caused the two energies to rage and almost leave his control.
"This is insane! I'm risking my life!" Long Feng cried out inwardly as he struggled to keep them under control.
"I can't keep them suppressed like this for long. I'm have no choice but to risk it all. Master, I'm doing as you said. If I lose my life trying to breakthrough to the spirit realm, then that would truly be a joke of the century for both you and I" Long Feng thought as he decided that attempting the breakthrough again was the best choice right now. But then, he suddenly had a feeling that his breakthrough was going to stir up some disturbance.
Normal spirit realm breakthroughs were quite calm save for the rapid flow of natural energies. But he was about to attempt a different method of breakthrough. He didn't know what could happen so it wasn't a good idea to breakthrough in the middle of the Long clan. He quickly left his Dantian, rushed out of his room to find his father and told him about his urgent need to leave. His father didn't really ask much, simply nodding and telling him to be careful.
Long Feng left the Long clan and Li Yue'er's figure trailed behind him. He didn't have the time to tell her to return. His control over the two energies was rapidly decreasing. He didn't have enough time to even leave the Long Clan's valley. He decided to find a secluded area at the edge of the valley and sat down cross legged on the grass, ready to begin his unique breakthrough. Li Yue'er stood some distance away, protecting him and ready to take action if anything unusual occured.
After all, getting interrupted while at a critical point of cultivating could lead to drastic consequences, even death if careless. Long Feng closed his eyes and sank his consciousness into his Dantian. There, he rapidly thought of how to go about his breakthrough. It wasn't surprising to have two Dao cores actually. One would just have to choose one of the Dao cores to transform into the spirit core while leaving the other one. Or even create a brand new spirit core and leaving both Dao cores separate.
It was all normal. But having to extremely opposite Dao cores was unheard of. Daos like fire and ice or water, life and death, or such were impossible to dual cultivate in one body according to normal human understanding. The two would instantly repel each other and one of them would have to be abandoned. Yet here was Long Feng, having two utterly extreme Dao cores coexisting temporarily in his Dantian. This was enough to shock the entire mainland.
But this made his breakthrough more confusing as he had no one to guide him. Was he to use one of the two Daos as his spirit core or create a new spirit core and leave the two Dao cores alone? Or… a crazy idea appeared in his mind. Did he actually need to merge the two Dao cores of darkness and light together and use that as his spirit core? That was insane and logically impossible. His brain rapidly calculated his chances. Rationally speaking, this third option was utterly impossible.
Yet in this case, it was actually the most plausible. Why else would he need the two Daos if he could just use one? So he strongly believed that it was this third idea that was the true way. But then again, his rational mind told him that it was simply suicide. How exactly would he merge the two opposing Dao cores together? Wouldn't he just explode to pieces immediately?
"Damn it all! I'll risk it!" Long Feng gritted his teeth and exclaimed with red eyes.
"Master, if I die, then it's on your heartless teaching!" He calmed down and then released his suppression on the two energies, instead using all his energy to push them much faster at each other. The two spinning Dao cores shot at each other at very fast speed. When the two energies touched initially, they began to rebound strongly. Yet Long Feng used all his soul energy to suppress this rebound force while pushing the two Dao cores at each other.
Sweat began to drip from his forehead as he used all his strength to push these two cores closer and closer despite the powerful rebound force between them.
"Move!" Long Feng roared in his mind and closed the final distance between the two. A dazzlingly bright ball of light crashed into a pitch black ball of darkness. A terrifying rebound force burst out from the point of collision, trying to push the two cores apart. Yet Long Feng drew upon his will and held them right together.
"Merge!" He roared, veins sticking out on his face and forehead. Li Yue'er was absolutely shocked at Long Feng's state. He was drenched in sweat, his body was shaking and his veins were pooping out on his head. It was like he was going through something she couldn't imagine. Her expression turned to one filled with worry as she stood there, unable to decide what to do. Long Feng slowly pushed the two cores into each other with a great will that not even he knew existed within him.
"You will merge!" He cried out and pushed again, merging them further. The two cores were already halfway merged together. But then Long Feng's heart clenched as he sensed a terrifying energy build up in the center of that merged energy.
"It's going to explode!" He knew that if this exploded, then he was definitely dying. He couldn't survive the power of two rank seven extreme Dao energies exploding together. And yet he couldn't stop this no matter what he did. The explosion was already set and nothing he could do could stop it. Long Feng's heart slowly calmed down. He didn't die to Zhang Mo and a peak deity, yet now he was about to be killed while breaking through to the spirit realm by his own energy.
This was so ridiculous, even he wanted to laugh. His body was under extremely great pressure at this moment. The aura of the chaotic half merged cores was terrifying enough to make his entire body tighten.
"I missed one important thing! The dragons are three, not two! The final one is the thin barrier between the two extremes. And I failed to remember that. Ah… I really am reckless" he sighed. His bones were creaking, his flesh tightening and his blood boiling. At the most critical moment before the explosion, an unbelievably dense primordial aura was squeezed out from the depths of his body under this pressure. A single strand of gray energy was forced out of his body and into his Dantian.
Instantly, his Dantian world seemed to freeze. The aura of this single strand of gray energy was like an entire world weighing on the entire starry sky. Even the Three dragons glanced over before looking paway indifferently.
