The moment the core shattered, Long Feng felt as though his heart shattered along with it. An extremely powerful wave of energy exploded within his Dantian, breaking through all barriers and spreading to his body. This energy consisted of all three Dao energies as well as Long Feng's spirit energy entirely. The force of it's explosion was naturally nothing to scoff at. If it was directed as an attack, then even Huang Fang Hao would find it hard to withstand it.
Long Feng's pupils shrank as his vital organs all shook and nearly tore apart. His veins and meridians almost all ruptured, his skin tore open in many places and he coughed up blood thrice. This time, blood actually flowed out of his ears as well! He looked extremely pathetic and ragged, almost like he was at death's door. But Long Feng couldn't feel all these. His eyes were bloodshot as he sent his weakened consciousness into his Dantian. The vast starry sky wasn't even shaken by the explosion.
This was a boundless realm that not even Long Feng, the owner of the Dantian could fathom. Forget the entire starry sky, he hadn't explored less than one percent of this world yet. The only place he had slight control over was where his spirit core was, and that was the place that mattered to him the most. That entire area was currently engulfed in a strange energy storm. It was filled with extremely chaotic energy which undoubtedly came from Long Feng's shattered core.
Strangely, the energy didn't disperse as it should have. Instead, it remained gathered in that specific area, running rampant. Long Feng's heart wasn't relieved though. He was unable to summon the slightest energy. It was as though he had never cultivated before. This situation left him feeling anxious and curious. Everything that was going on ever since he comprehended the light Dao was out of his imaginations. He hadn't expected so much complications to occur.
And now, his spirit core had shattered, yet the energy hadn't faded. That should have been a relief, but he had no idea what was going on, or what would happen next. And his consciousness was unable to approach the range of the chaotic energy otherwise it would be injured. Thus, he was left with no choice but to watch while forcing himself to stay calm and hopeful. Time slowly passed. Minutes turned to hours and hours soon turned to a full day. There was still no changes, no new development.
Long Feng wasn't discouraged. He remained patient, suppressing his worry and anxiety in his heart. He was fully aware that panicking wouldn't help him now. It was imperative that he remained calm in this situation so that he would be able to rationally analyze everything. A full three days passed quietly before the gathered energy began to rumble, rushing towards the center where the spirit core stood previously. All of these happened beyond Long Feng's control.
He could only watch and hope things weren't as bad as he thought. Minutes passed. The chaotic energy completely gathered together into a large cyclone that spun around endlessly. The energy cyclone was the definition of chaotic. It contained the demon energy, sword energy and light energy, making it extremely unstable.
If it wasn't for the fact that the sword energy had already merged with the other two and it was stronger than them, then the chaotic energy would've long since exploded and the Demon and Light energies would destroy each other. The cyclone spun around continuously and slowly began to change. The energies sperated as though an invisible law was silently working, bringing order to the Chaos of the cyclone. Enjoying this book? It was worth mentioning that as the cyclone became perfect, Long Feng also began to find it exceedingly familiar untill he couldn't get that feeling out of his mind. An hour later, the cyclone was no longer unstable. Instead, it was now spinning silently, calmly even without emitting a single fluctuation. As the cyclone spun around, an extremely strange feeling suffused Long Feng's heart. The spinning cyclone… looked very familiar. Far too familiar. Then it all clicked. The mysterious symbol!
The symbol which appeared on his forehead at some specific time, one half being a proud coiled Demon dragon, the other half being a coiled Azure dragon and between them was a straight hornless dragon. This cyclone wasn't made of dragons. Instead, half of it was pure demon energy, the other half was pure light energy and between them was a straight sword that emanated a piercing sharp sword aura and kept the two energies apart.
The moment he recognized the cyclone, the extremely similar symbol reappeared on his forehead, spinning with the exact same speed and frequency as the spinning cyclone. An extremely mysterious aura seeped out of the symbol. This aura didn't contain great power or pressure. Instead, it was deep. Endlessly deep, like an endless abyss. It silently gave off a subtle feeling of power, a presence of supremacy that had no equal and boundless profoundness that could replace the heavens itself.
The moment it appeared, time seemed to freeze. The spinning cyclone froze, Long Feng's thoughts froze, the world entirely froze for a split second. Though it merely lasted for the blink of an eye, that short span seemed like only the symbol was in existence, silently spinning with it's ethereal might. Long Feng's frozen mind also returned. But when he regained his senses, he could no longer see the spinning cyclone anywhere around.
He was still floating in a vast starry sky that was lit up by infinite glimmering stars, but at this moment, this starry sky which he was used to seeing in his Dantian seemed… different. He just felt like he was in a different place, no longer within his Dantian. And when he tried to leave his Dantian, he was actually unable to. That proved one thing; this was really not his Dantian world! And even if it was, then this was some corner he didn't know about.
But he was weirdly confident that this wasn't anywhere within his Dantian. Although he couldn't describe it, he was sure that this was an entirely different space. Long feng suddenly felt dizzy and when he looked around again, everything had changed once more. What appeared before him was a scene he was familiar with; a lone silver throne floating through the vast space and a masked man dressed in pitch black robes seated on it.
The man's head was lowered and some of his black hair fell over his face, further hiding his mask itself. Around the throne were nine blazing pillars of light and faintly visible through the light were nine figures. Further out were thirty-three dimmer pillars of light, containing another thirty-three blurry figures. This scene was similar to a painting. Several figures were paying respects to a single person; the man on the throne. That was exactly what this looked like to Long Feng.
This was the third time he was seeing this scene and he had no idea what it meant. (Note; This scene is an edit made in the earlier chapters. Visit Chapter 3 & Chapter 118 for more details.) This time, it lasted much longer than before. He himself didn't even know how long it was before the scene shattered like a mirror. Everything returned to normal. He was still in the palace Ao Zhentian left him in, and his consciousness was still within his Dantian.
The symbol on his forehead had vanished since heaven knows when and Long Feng himself didn't even know of it's appearance. Even if he did know though, there was nothing he could do. Everything was covered in innumerable layers of mysteries which he couldn't come close to unraveling, not yet. Looking around, the spinning cyclone had slowed down drastically and it spun at a much slower speed.
It's size was quite large, and if it was placed outside, Long Feng guessed that it would fill up this entire hall which he was in. That was really large. He curiously tried to circulate his energy and he was pleasantly surprised to find that it actually worked! His cultivation was extremely stable at rank one spirit realm. In fact, it was much more stable than before. This foundation couldn't be made any firmer than it was currently.
His spirit energy was a tad thicker than before, and he had full control over it This left him in a daze. His spirit core had shattered, and he couldn't see it anywhere. It had truly shattered to dust. Yet his cultivation hadn't declined at all? It was actually more solid than ever before? Was this a dream? Or was he still within the weird hallucination he was seeing? How could a spirit realm warrior without a Spirit Core exist? That didn't sound logical at all.
This strange spinning cyclone seemed to have replaced his spirit core, gathering all of his energy together.
"How is this possible? What's going on?" Long Feng frowned deeply. He couldn't help but feel deeply unsettled by this unknown path he was taking. His previous fatal injuries from the spirit core explosion were mostly healed suddenly. If he had to describe how he felt now, then he was actually feeling as though he was only just breaking through to the spirit realm for real.
It was as though the former breakthrough was incomplete, or he had taken a wrong method, which resulted in all the following complications and his unstable energy. But now, everything was perfect. Was this his path? Was this what Wu Kong meant when he said that Long Feng's path was different? He couldn't have a spirit core? Instead he had a weird cyclone in his Dantian?
"This doesn't count as a core anymore does it? It's more like a… Spirit Cyclone."
"I can already feel the limit of rank one spirit realm. I can attempt to breakthrough to rank two at any time!" Long Feng observed. This further assured him that everything was pretty much settled. The only person who could give him an explanation was Wu Kong, and he was no longer present. Long Feng couldn't trust anyone else with these shocking secrets and mysteries. He didn't know much, but he was already beginning to feel that there was a terrifying mystery behind all of these.
A mystery that caused Wu Kong, a god like being to come to this so called lower realm. A mystery that tied the mighty Chaos Sources to a mere mortal, Long Feng. A mystery that involved the scene he had seen thrice now, and the strange symbol on his forehead. Not to mention the other lesser mysteries. All of these things had no explanations, and Long Feng was beginning to want to unravel them. He wanted to dig deeper into everything and understand exactly what was going on, and how did he happen to fit into it all.
That was something for the far future. For now though, he must focus on raising his strength and bury these questions deep in his mind. Sighing, Long Feng cleared his thoughts and closed his eyes.
"Since I've come this far, then I might as well ride on the momentum and breakthrough at once." Thinking of this, he began to absorb energy to breakthrough to rank two spirit realm at once. The natural energy in this hall was extremely dense, even denser than the energy on the Thunder Sky Continent. This left Long Feng speechless. Where had Ao Zhentian brought him? That didn't hinder his cultivation though. He absorbed all he could and circulated the energy before settling it into the spinning cyclone.
The cyclone them refined the energy into his spirit energy and sent it back to his meridians. He then circulated it again and joined it permanently into his spirit energy, slowly raising his cultivation. Several hours later, Long Feng's eyes fluttered open and a powerful pressure burst out of his body for a brief moment before he withdrew it. His figure was completely calm, emitting no aura at all. A normal cultivator would easily mistake him for a mortal who had never cultivated before.
This was Long Feng's unrivaled control over his aura. But when he released his aura, one would sense that it was now that of a rank two spirit realm warrior!
