Li Yue'er barely defeated the rank nine spirit realm warrior and finally moved into the ranks of the top hundred geniuses. But she also knew that she was nearing her limits. It was impossible for her to reach the top fifty unless there was some great changes, but she was very satisfied already. Reaching the top hundred with her cultivation would have certainly drawn the attention of some envoys and they would take notice of her. They exchanged glances with Long Feng and both smiled at each other.
The fights in the fifth level of the hundred divisions battle formation was another matter entirely. The battle stages were just four, and the geniuses were hundred in numbers. The format of the battle would have to be changed to guarantee absolute fairness during this level.
"The top hundred geniuses have been decided. The battles today will come to an end. Tomorrow, the top fifty and top ten geniuses will be ranked." The man floating in the sky spoke in a booming voice that swept across the whole area. Many fatigued geniuses sighed in relief at this announcement. Fighting dozens of battles in a day was nothing short of exhausting, even if they had some time to recover in between.
And there was also the metal exhaustion after being on peak alert against other geniuses for the whole day. It was only natural that they were exhausted. Long Feng wasn't exhausted, but his spirit energy was running low again after using it constantly. Even though the opponents were weak and he tried to defeat them quickly, his spirit energy was still almost below half. If he continued fighting and unluckily ran into another overlord, he wouldn't have the tears to shed at that time.
The towering Hundred Divisions Battle Formation stayed active as the geniuses and spectators began to flood away, taking away the piercing noice and cheers of excitement. The envoys also began to vanish silently until they all left, leaving the Battle formation standing proudly, releasing it's great willpower to fill the continent.
Upon returning to their rooms, Long Feng sat on his bed and took out a small bottle, inside which a single drop of liquid sat. Even through the bottle, it's appearance caused the natural energy in the room to rise a bit. This was the profound mist dew! Long Feng stared at it, contemplating if it would be worth it to use it now. He wasn't worried about his ability or withstand it. In fact, he was confident that he could withstand it's energy. What bothered him was his own situation, his unstable energy.
If he recklessly raised his cultivation without fully dealing with this issue, then he would likely leave some hidden injuries and flaws in his body that would prove fatal in the future. He could cut off his future achievements entirely. In the path of cultivation, a single mistake could end everything and even lead to a full loss of cultivation. And his situation was unique. He didn't know if a breakthrough in this state would lead to a backlash or anything. At the end, he decided that it wasn't worth the risk.
Although he wished he could raise his cultivation quickly and face Huang Fang Hao, he wasn't stupid enough to risk his entire future for a single feat. As he was about to return the dew drop, Li Yue'er's figure appeared in his mind. His face brightened again.
"That's right. Li Yue'er's cultivation is rank five spirit realm. She should be able to withstand it. Even if not, I can divide it into two for her to absorb. It would be best if she gains the combat power of an imperial master and raise her chances of reaching the top fifty." He thought. This urge became powerful and he didn't hesitate any longer. That night, he sneaked out of his room and walked to Li Yue'er's room. If you discover this narrative on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen.
Please report the violation. As he stood before her door, his face flushed a bit. He wouldn't want anyone catching him trying to sneak into a lady's room at night, otherwise he would never be able to explain himself. He stood in hesitation again, pondering whether to knock or just open the door. Knocking would alert others, after all they were all cultivators. The slightest sound would not pass their ears.
His face alternated between red and blue as he stood there with his right arm outstretched to hold the door knob. The suddenly, the door opened silently. Long Feng was startled for a minute before realizing that it was opened from the inside. He traced his nose as he walked in, trying to hide his embarrassment. He silently closed the door behind him and turned to look around Li Yue'er's dimly lit room. It was almost exactly the same as his.
There wasn't much decorations in any of the rooms, after all they weren't here to stay. His gaze focused on Li Yue'er's figure seating cross legged on her cultivation mat, her blue eyes staring back at him curiously. She wasn't wearing he veil and this made his throat to dry immediately.
"Um… s-sorry to disturb you. I-I just thought you might need the… profound mist dew." Once again, Long Feng wished he could just turn around and leave. This stammering had left him completely embarrassed.
"Profound Mist Dew? I thought you kept it till you reached the peak of the spirit realm?" Li Yue'er didn't bother about his stammer.
"Oh right. My current situation is a bit complicated, but I can't afford to raise my cultivation just yet until I resolve it. So the dew is pretty much useless to me right now. I don't know how long it'll take me to resolve the issue and then reach the peak spirit realm." Long Feng replied, regaining his calm. Li Yue'er understood, and she didn't know what to say next. She wasn't that good with conversations anyway.
"Well… thanks then. But I'm also not yet at the peak spirit realm to use it" she replied after a while.
"That's not a problem. I can break it down enough for you to use."
"I was beginning to wonder why an overlord genius would sneak into my room at night." Li Yue'er replied with a slight tease. Long Feng was instantly embarrassed again. Indeed, he shouldn't be here. But when he saw the teasing smile on her face, he calmed down and smiled.
"I wouldn't refuse a reward for my effort. I mean, sneaking over is not easy. I had to be silent so no one would know and have weird thoughts." He replied as well.
"Silent? How then did I know you were standing by the door?" This question threw Long Feng off. He stood there blankly for a minute before realizing what she meant.
"Wait, they… how?" Li Yue'er didn't reply. Long Feng also thought about it and realized that tip toeing definitely wouldn't escape the shark senses of cultivators. What was wrong with him? To think he tip toed and expected that no one would know? This was easily the most embarrassing moment of his life.
"Forget it. We have a few hours until daybreak." He changed the topic. He then hesitated briefly before walking over and sitting behind Li Yue'er.
"I'll sit here." He spoke. There was nearly no distance between them and he could breath in the intoxicating fragrance that came from her. Li Yue'er didn't react as he took out the bottle containing the Profound Mist Dew and opened it, pouring the single drop out. The natural energy in the room immediately began to boil and increase to a new level. The drop of profound mist dew was translucent and glittering, and it didn't break apart like normal liquid.
This small dew drop contained as much energy as a rank one imperial realm master had in his body. Normal spirit realm warriors would die immediately they tried to absorb it.
"I'll be starting now…" Long Feng muttered. Li Yue'er nodded gently. Long Feng then clenched his fist on the dew drop, pouring his dense spirit energy into his clenched fist. He forcefully split the dew into two faint drops that rolled on his palm when he unclenched it. It was unavoidable that some of the energy was lost in the process and it couldn't be helped. But the majority of the energy was divided into the two drops. Now each drop was much weaker than before and no longer savage anymore.
Long Feng kept one drop aside and controlled the other drop to rush into Li Yue'er's body through her back. Li Yue'er's body shook a bit as his palm touched her back. Then she focused on controlling the surge of energy that flowed into her body through her meridians. This energy was tamable and it didn't take long for her to control it after a full circulation and begin transforming it into a part of her own energy. This would take a few hours to complete, and Long Feng decided to leave while she was at it.
He slowly opened the door and walked out, closing it behind him then walked back to his room as silently as he could. He let himself fall heavily on his bed and a smile appeared on his face.
"Ah. I need to resolve my unstable energy quickly. Otherwise I might stay stranded in my current level for heaven knows how long." After Long Feng left her room, Li Yue'er's closed eyes slowly flustered open. Her icy pupils had some confusion as well as rare gentleness as she stared at the closed door.
"You should focus on fully absorbing the dew. It will boost your cultivation. I will help you to keep your foundation solid so it doesn't affect you." An soft emotionless voice sounded in the room. Li Yue'er wasn't startled by the voice. It was evident that she knew about it.
"Yes senior!" She replied calmly, but her gaze remained fixed on the door. A beautiful figure appeared before Li Yue'er. She was an absolute beauty with a mature charm that would make cultivators run mad with lust, but sitting before Li Yue'er suddenly made her beauty to dim a bit. But that didn't matter. What mattered was the identity of this new lady. It was one of the three strongest envoys that appeared, the cold lady who gave off a feeling similar to a thousand year old iceberg!
From how she was revered by the other envoys, she must certainly have come from a great force, and her own strength couldn't be weak. The woman stared at Li Yue'er's face then frowned.
"Yue'er, the true Dao of ice requires detachment from all emotions. You can't let your heart be swayed by anyone otherwise you won't be able to perfect your Dao!" Said the woman. Li Yue'er's gaze moved back to the woman.
"Yes senior" but her tone wasn't strong. The woman's frown deepened.
"You're in love with him? What do you see in him? You can focus on your Dao and achieve strength beyond your imaginations!" Li Yue'er was at a loss for a while before she replied.
"I-I don't know what senior is talking about" she replied.
"Yue'er, you possess a special constitution, one that I have never seen before. Your Yin energy is so dense and pure that I am shocked myself. Your affinity for the ice Dao is greater than I ever expected. That is reason why you must never have emotions to truly unleash your fill potential, especially not falling in love." Li Yue'er stared at her with a conflicted expression.
"All you have to do is cultivate the Ice heart manual and reaching the Dao realm will be just a matter of time. Your talent is beyond any of the trashes here, even that kid. A constitution is a divine treasure beyond your imaginations. The Ice heart manual will help you to awaken your constitution and grant you talent at the peak of the entire Four regions." The woman added.
"Senior… Can't there be an exception? I… I can't cultivate that manual. I can't… freeze my heart." Li Yue'er replied after a long minute. The woman was obviously annoyed to hear that.
"What're you saying? The Ice heart manual is an earth grade manual! You wouldn't find this chance anywhere else. Why are you being so obstinate? I'm telling you, as long as you awaken your constitution, you will soar into the sky and leave that kid far behind. You two aren't even comparable. You will not even remember this farce in a few years!" She tried to convince Li Yue'er again.
"Senior, please forget this matter. I will follow you to the Frozen Empress Valley as I promised, but my personal emotions have nothing to do with the sect" Li Yue'er took a deep breath and replied firmly. The woman was startled, then she sighed.
'Yue'er, it's not like I am trying to pressure you, but the sect doesn't ever allow emotional relationships. But I can't let you know that otherwise you'll change your mind, and your special constitution is something the Frozen Empress Valley can't lose. I'm sorry.'
