Long Feng stared at the seven men seriously.
"One last question. Who is your master?" This was the point he was most curious about.
"Hmph. Our master is a revered deity. As for his identity, That's not something you need to know!" The middle aged rank three Imperial snorted and replied.
"Deity? Indeed." Long Feng sighed. Although he didn't know why the deities didn't make a move themselves, that didn't matter much now. Perhaps they considered him too week to force them to move and decided to send their servants or followers instead. And he just so happened to run into the servants of one of them. His hand slowly moved to grab his sword hilt and the seven men around him instantly tensed up.
"Take him down. Don't kill him!" The old man shouted grimly after a minute of tense silence. As he spoke, he himself unleashed his full strength and punched at Long Feng. The other six immediately launched powerful attacks as well, not holding back in the slightest. Although they believed that they could defeat him, they weren't stupid enough to underestimate an overlord genius. His counterattack would definitely be nothing to scoff at. The moment the old man spoke and attacked, Long Feng was already a step faster.
His sword was already leaving it's sheath, and his power erupted, stirring the wind around them. The old man's punch was the first to arrive, landing on Long Feng's chest. But there was no joy on the man's face. His fist directly passed through Long Feng's chest as though it hit empty air. And Long Feng's figure faded with the wind, revealing itself as an afterimage.
"Watch out!" The middle aged man roared at the rank one imperial, rushing over. The rank one Imperial froze as he sensed a piercing aura behind him. His heart began to pound as he roared with red eyes, going as far as to burn his life source immediately to unleash a short burst of strength. His reaction speed was applaudable. He twisted his body, evading a sword strike that would've left him in two places, yet he still wasn't able to dodge it completely.
A painful scream escaped his throat as his left arm, shoulder and all fell to the ground, separated cleanly from his upper torso. Long Feng frowned as his attack missed and he stepped forward to stab the gleaming sword again.
"Kid, you're courting death!" The middle aged man roared as he rushed in between Long Feng and the rank one imperial and blocked the second sword. His short blade shook and he was pushed back with his energy roiling in his chest. Long Feng didn't attack further as he would leave himself exposed to the attacks of the others. Not even he could take them on.
"Kid, you're dead! Raging tornado fist!." The old man roared, punching out and causing the wind around to faintly converge into a whirl that rushed towards Long Feng. At the same time, the other rank three Imperial, the middle aged man also lifted his short blade and swung it down, releasing a powerful beam of energy. "Demon sword" Long Feng's sword shot out a pitch black sword light that ripped the tornado apart and shattered the blade light. The remaining energy sent the two men skidding backwards a few meters. They paused and exchanged glances in shock.
"Send the message! Inform anyone around to rush over immediately!" The old man shouted solemnly. He had already realized that they wouldn't be able to stop Long Feng for long. They had still underestimated the strength of an overlord even when they came in a group. One of the rank two Imperial took out a rough jade and poured his Imperial energy into it, sending a message out. Long Feng's eyes turned sharp immediately. Send a message? If others arrived, then he would have trouble escaping.
And If a rank five or six Imperial came… The second Firmament Step was pushed to the limit and he appeared before the person holding the jade.
"Stop him!" The old man grinned and shouted, taking the lead to unleash a powerful attack at Long Feng. The others also released their trump cards, releasing a barrage of attacks that would seriously injure a normal rank three Imperial. Long Feng's face remained calm as he lifted a finger to point at the shocked man before him, while lifting his other hand with his fist clenched.
"Heaven ripping finger." His finger released a brilliant beam of light that pierced through the man's chest. As the other attacks closed in, his clenched fist unfurled.
"Three waves demon annihilation." This wasn't the three layered waves skill he had recreated to fit his sword. This was the original skill. The power of it was lacking compared to the one he revised, but he wasn't using it for the power. The huge demonic being appeared around him, roaring at the sky with it's six arms flaying around while it's blood red eyes seemed to replace the sky. The size was beyond anything Long Feng had ever achieved before and that was due to his current strength.
Not even the original creator of the skill; the master of the origin spirit palace and sword, had ever achieved such a level. After all, he was merely a spirit realm warrior. The demonic being roared again just as the attacks landed on it's flaming dark figure. It merely lasted for a few seconds before the demonic being collapsed with a final roar, but those few seconds were all Long Feng needed. His figure vanished, as the weakened attacked destroyed his afterimage.
The corpse of the man was also blasted apart by the attacks, leaving the other men stunned. This time, he appeared behind the first person, the rank one Imperial who had lost an entire arm. The man was terrified as he stared into Long Feng's pitch black eyes. His heart jumped to his throat as he wanted to open his mouth. Long Feng calmly swung his sword and stepped away, leaving the man standing for a second before the lifeless corpse fell down with the head severed cleanly from the neck.
"Damn it! Kid! You're dead!" The old man was enraged, as well as frightened at this moment. Two of them had already been killed, leaving five. Yet they hadn't even touched the hem of Long Feng's clothing. Long Feng didn't immediately make another attack. He stood still, staring at the blood on the Origin Spirit Sword then sighed.
"Hold him down! The message has been sent out. Others are on their way!" The middle aged man roared, rushing towards Long Feng with killing intent gushing out of his body. The others followed, attacking without holding back. Right now, they were all filled with fear. They no longer wished to defeat him, just to keep him tied up until someone stronger arrived to subdue him. Long Feng's eyes turned chilly as he fixed them on the middle aged man.
His sword energy, demon energy and spirit energy all surged out at once, causing a mini windstorm to erupt.
"Demon sword!" The origin spirit sword's blade turned pitch black and his feet moved. The dust rose where he stood and he vanished, appearing behind another rank two Imperial. The person was frightened and quickly tried to move away.
"Trying to run?" Long Feng snorted and rushed past the man. The man's eyes bulged and slowly turned lifeless as his head fell separate from the body. The remaining four were definitely terrified by this. Their hearts were filled with regret. Why didn't they just send the message out immediately they found him and then stay out of this? As they were about to despair, a powerful aura suddenly appeared in the distance, rushing over at a high speed.
Long Feng's expression turned dark while the faces of the four men brightened up.
"Rank four Imperial. Time to go." Long Feng sighed. He gave up on making any further attacks and turned around to leave, but the middle aged man wasn't willing to let things rest just yet.
"Stop him! Don't let him escape!" As he shouted this, he himself as well as the old man fell backwards instead, leaving the two rank two Imperials to face Long Feng. Long Feng glared at the middle aged man then suddenly shot straight towards him with his killing intent showing in his eyes for the first time. The man's expression froze as he felt extreme danger in his heart.
"Block him! Someone is coming. We just need to hold him for a few minutes and he'll be captured!"
"Even if I am truly unable to escape, I'd like to see how you'll be alive to witness it." Long Feng replied coldly. The origin spirit sword began to gleam with a subtle glow as he rushed towards the man. The man roared and gathered his full strength into his short blade and swung it down at the approaching Long Feng.
"Earth Firmament strike!" Long Feng didn't slow down at all. Tue origin spirit sword released a profound sword energy that shot into the sky, blinding the others for a second. When the light faded, Long Feng was already rushing far away while the middle aged man stood frozen with fear on his face. They all stayed silent for a minute before the old man sighed.
"This… Fellow cultivator, are you alright?" He asked, questioning the Frozen middle aged man. The middle aged man didn't reply. His eyes were filled with terror as the light in them slowly went out and blood flowed down his neck. Before the shocked gazed of the final three men, the middle aged man collapsed and his decapitated head rolled away, leaving a brilliant trail of red on the floor. A few minutes later, the powerful aura arrived and a man appeared.
The man glanced at the four corpses on the floor and frowned then turned to the old man.
"What happened here? Who did this? Where's the kid?" The old man barely pulled himself together and shook his head.
"H-he… killed them all. He escaped in that direction!" The old man pointed a shaky finger in the direction Long Feng fled at.
"You dated to defy master's orders. He will deal with you later. Gather others and come over!" The rank four Imperial snorted and rushed over in that direction at full speed. The remaining three men exchanged bitter glances and sighed, unable to speak a word. Instead of getting rewarded, they were now getting punished, and they could very well lose their heads if their master got enraged.
