Long Feng left the palace far behind and kept flying aimlessly, his mind filled with the scene of Lu Jian casually thrusting a palm that defeated all of them. Although he hadn't given it his best, he didn't doubt that even if he burned his life source, he still wouldn't come close to threatening Lu Jian.
"First it was Huang Fang Hao. Now, Lu Jian. The Mainland already feels very lively. I can barely wait." He murmured.
"Indeed. The mainland is very lively. Far more than you'd care to imagine." A casual voice sounded behind him. Long Feng's heart leapt as he jumped around, drawing the Origin Spirit Sword out of it's sheath and releasing his full aura. Ao Zhentian's face had an amused expression as he stared at Long Feng's actions. Long Feng slowly calmed down upon realizing that it was just Ao Zhentian. His caution turned to speechlessness as he stared at Ao Zhentian, not knowing what to do.
If Ao Zhentian wasn't so much stronger than him, then he would have certainly given him a kick to his face for the scare.
"What? Don't worry. You'll get used to it." Ao Zhentian looked sideways and said. Long Feng's eyelids twitched slightly. Would he ever get used to that? Absolutely not.
"Anyway, I can see you didn't lose your drive to that kid. If you had, then I wouldn't have appeared. You've passed."
"That was a test?" Long Feng asked speechlessly.
"Not exactly. It was a good way for me to actually know how strong your determination is. If a single kid could break your will, then you'll not be worth my time. But it looks like I made a good choice again." Long Feng couldn't say he was shocked. He had already imagined this scenario. The supreme heaven sect was a quasi one star force. How would it be easy to join such a super force?
"Now, we'll visit your home as you asked. Then I'll fulfill my promise and grant you an opportunity to Increase your strength considerably and then we'll leave." Ao Zhentian turned serious as he said this. Long Feng subconsciously straightened his back and replied, "Yes, Senior."
"Good. Now, where is your homeland?"
Long Feng stepped on the ground and took a deep breath, inhaling the moist air. The natural energy here was pathetic, but to him, there was no where more comfortable. Because this was home. The Yihua continent's Jianhai province! He looked around and smiled.
"The place looks the same. The Long clan is around here somewhere…" Ao Zhentian had merely taken a few minutes to bring him over to the Yihua Continent, completely astonishing Long Feng. That was close to the speed of the teleportation formation! After that, Ao Zhentian had vanished. He said he would return whenever Long Feng was done and would find him. Long Feng wasn't bothered by Ao Zhentian's disappearance. He was home, and that was all that mattered.
This would be the last time he would meet his family in a long time. It was best if he didn't think of anything irrelevant. Stolen content warning: this tale belongs on Royal Road. Report any occurrences elsewhere. He soon found the Long clan's valley and returned silently, only letting the Clan Chief, Long Yuan to know about his arrival. The clan's strength had risen considerably again in the short time he had been gone. The unique concentration of natural energy in the valley greatly contributed to this.
The valley alone contained such dense natural energy that it could compare to a normal high ranked continent. This was nothing short of mind blogging. Long Feng was aware that the natural energy came from the strange stone platform in the center of the valley, but he had no idea what it was. He was about to leave for a long journey and he didn't know when he would ever return again. He didn't want to leave any unknown variables for the Long clan, so he planned to take care of that platform once and for all.
He spent a day with his father. The next day, he went to the center of the valley alone, easily bypassing the guards. He strolled into the old palace and found the square stone platform it, the mystic runes on it seeming to hide an ancient tale. Long Feng approached the platform and gazed at it calmly.
"I don't know what you are, and I don't want to know. But if you're listening, then know that I'll be setting a sealing formation here for precaution." He found it weird that he was speaking to a stone platform, yet he didn't hesitate to do it. After saying that, he slowly began to form handseals, releasing his soul power in waves. A long time passed.
He was completely focused on setting the sealing formation perfectly, and he didn't notice some of his soul power flowing into the stone platform through the four grooves left on it. As it absorbed more of his soul power, the dark runes began to faintly show signs of glowing. Soon, Long Feng completed the sealing formation. His forehead was covered in swear which he wiped away. Then he made final hand seals and sent the new sealing formation into the stone platform to seal it.
The platform suddenly exploded with an intense glow for a second before it vanished. The glow was so intense that it blinded Long Feng temporarily. An undetectable amount of light silently flowed into his body and vanished completely as though it never existed. Long Feng frowned and looked around, but found nothing strange. He made sure that the sealing formation was working before he left. The palace returned to silence after he left. That same day, Long Feng bid farewell to his father and left the clan.
This time, his direction was… the mortal heaven sect! That was the first sect he had ever joined. It was an exciting part of his early cultivation life. He hadn't built much connections, but each of them were worth gold to him. Yan Jian, Li Yue'er and Lord Yi Ming — he met them all in the Mortal Heaven Sect, so it could be said that it was an important change point in his life. The once magnificent sect was now in complete ruins. The buildings were all demolished, razed to the ground.
The corpses that should've littered the land were all nowhere to be seen. Instead, many people were walking through the ruins and finding resources to steal. The mortal heaven sect was really gone. Long Feng couldn't suppress the indescribable guilt that filled his heart. If got so intense that he nearly triggered another heart demon attack here. Long Feng spent a day walking through the ruins, finding many places he once knew now destroyed.
After that, he took out a wine gourd and drank a bit, then poured the rest of the content on the floor and paid his respects to his teacher, Lord Yi Ming, before he left. Long Feng didn't check out the other destroyed forces. He didn't need to. After all these, he randomly travelled the province aimlessly untill Ao Zhentian appeared before him a day later.
"I see you're done?" He asked. Long Feng nodded slowly.
"Good. It's about time. Come on. I'll take you to the place I promised you." Ao Zhentian smiled and waved his hand. A floating orb of light appeared above his palm, glowing gently.
"Is that… the Supreme Heaven mystic realm?" Long Feng asked curiously.
"Indeed. It is inside the mystic realm." Ao Zhentian nodded and waved his hand again. Long Feng's surrounded blurred and the next thing he knew, he was back in the supreme heaven mystic realm. Before them was a huge mountain that reached the clouds if this mystic realm. The mountain emanated a strange pressure that seemed to affect everything close to it.
"Go ahead. Climb this mountain to the peak. You have three days, then I'll drag you out." Ao Zhentian said, beckoning to the mountain. Long Feng's mouth fell as he tilted his neck to look up, where he could barely see the mountain peak. Breathing deeply, Long Feng began to climb the mountain slowly. When he tried to fly, he was pushed down by a strange force and he was left with no other choice but to climb the normal way. Ao Zhentian watched his attempts then vanished silently.
It wasn't untill a day later that Long Feng finally reached the mountain peak. If wasn't for the strange pressure that prevented flying, then he would have long since reach the mountain peak. He was panting and sweating buckets as he climbed the peak and stood up. Looking around, the only thing he could see was a pond of clear water. There was nothing that could help him with his cultivation here. Could Ao Zhentian have tricked him? Long Feng threw that thought out.
There was no need for Ao Zhentian to use any tricks. He would simply say, 'Die!' and many would. Curious, he walked over to the pool. If wasn't untill he got close that he sensed the mysteries of the pool. This wasn't just pool water. This was extremely condensed natural energy! It was similar to the profound mist dew, but it was at least twice the density of the mist dew, and instead of a single drop, this was a full pond. Long Feng didn't even stop to think and instantly jumped into the pond.
The moment the strange fog-like liquid touched him, his body shivered. Extremely thick natural energy rushed into his body via his veins and meridians at the same time. It was so sudden and so much that he roared out and felt his meridians bloating up. He hurriedly concentrated and began to refine the great amount of energy. At the same time, he touched his void ring and took out a large gourd, which he filled up fully with the profound mist liquid.
That didn't seem enough for him, so he added a few more gourds until he was satisfied. Then he fully focused on his cultivation. His body looked calm from outside, but shocking changes were going on within his body. Two days passed in a flash. Ao Zhentian appeared exactly in time and floated in the air, watching over Long Feng. A few minutes later, Long Feng's eyes slowly parted open. A very powerful aura burst out of his body as his eyes opened, sending the pond water spraying into the air.
Shocking waves of energy spread throughout the mystic realm and parted the clouds for meters around the mountain. A frightening glint flashed briefly in Long Feng's eyes as he looked up. His full aura erupted instantly, leaving Ao Zhentian feeling slightly surprised.
