This would be the first time he was truly unleashing this skill against opponents of his level. The heaven firmament skill that was apparently thrice stronger than the Earth Firmament strike. In the Firmament Sword Saint's memory, it could compare to the might of the heaven and tear open the firmament when he used it at full power; hence the name. Long Feng was indescribably far from that level. It couldn't even be calculated. But no matter what… this was the heaven firmament.
The sword in his grasp shook as a great amount of energy surged through Long Feng's arms into the sword. His both arms swelled up and his veins burst apart, causing his arms to start bleeding. He forcefully twisted his body in midair and came to a halt, causing the remnant force of the rank six Imperial to slam against his organs. His face paled slightly. Outside the warrior tower, the observers were already dumbfounded and filled with disbelief.
"H-how is this possible? How could he stay in there for so long?"
"Over two hours! This doesn't make sense at all!"
"Could the warrior tower be broken or faulty?"
"Right. Could there be some sort of flaw?".
"It's impossible even for normal rank four and five Imperials to last for over an hour in there, not to mention a rank f-five spirit realm warrior!" The person who said this couldn't help but shiver as he mentioned the realm again.
"Bullshit! Rank five spirit realm? That kid is playing all of us. He is probably mush stronger than that!"
"That's right. He must've his his cultivation to play the pig. What a twisted mind the kid has. And at such young age!"
"No matter what, he still is nothing to us. Who among us can't last for over two hours here? What a joke." Someone regained his calm and snorted.
"Indeed. I've lasted for over three hours. This is nothing." A rank seven Imperial realm youth snorted. Everyone agreed and began to calm down, regaining their disdain, though it was much more controlled.
"I reckon he'll be eliminated very soon. A new disciple can't be that strong. He should be reaching his limits soon." And just as that person spoke, Long Feng's figure shook and his face paled slightly while he coughed. This was the exact same time he was preparing to unleash the heaven firmament skill. Everyone's focus was on him and they all noticed this change. Their faces instantly brightened.
"Ha! What'd I say? That brat isn't anything much. He has reached his limits already." The person laughed and added.
"Indeed. Although dying in there won't cause any harm, it's still a portion of one's soul. Injuries could reflect on the body. For him to be injured means he's about to be killed."
"Heh. The kid has set a record as the weakest outer disciple in the sect currently."
"He can't count as a disciple yet. Not until we see his score. It is still wholly possible that he has a very impressive speed or life saving means and spent the last two hours running or hiding. If his points don't reach a hundred, them he's lost anyway."
"Even if he does loses, his 'daddy' would definitely get him into the sect through the backdoor."
"Well we can't do anything. That's an advantage of having a powerful father. It's unfortunate that the son is useless. With his trash talent, I doubt that he'll even make it to the deity realm."
"Enough!" The Head Warden spoke coldly with a serious expression. This tale has been pilfered from Royal Road. If found on Amazon, kindly file a report. Everyone instantly fell silent, not daring to speak again. The head Warden stared at Long Feng's seated figure with a serious expression. From the beginning, he had been filled with disdain and amusement. He was annoyed that Lord Ao had disturbed his rest for this trash.
But strangely, after the talent test, he was suddenly filled with a feeling he couldn't pin point. But no matter how he sensed the talent testing stone, it really was a very unstable low rank mortal grade talent. And now this trash talent rank five spirit realm warrior had actually spent over two hours in the warrior tower; that meant he had at least fought of rank four Imperials. Forget the disciples, even the Head Warden was unable to make head or tails of how that was possible.
"What did Lord Ao see in this kid? I've been hasty in my actions." He closed his eyes briefly and opened them. There was not the slightest amusement in his eyes. Instead, he was very serious.
"Lord Ao has never brought someone useless to the sect. Everyone he brought have become a Core disciple and joined the True dragon ranking. I doubt that he would make a mistake this time."
Within the warrior tower, Long Feng came to a stop midair and raised his sword upwards. This simple movement was suddenly very hard to make, especially with his swollen arms. The sword seemed to have become much heavier and he barely lifted it above his head. The five figures had already arrived and their attacks were barely a few meters away. The sword fell. Slowly, silently. There was no earth shaking collision, no terrifying energy blasts. Long Feng's flesh on his arms instantly burst open and blood flowed down.
A pitch black sword light appeared and cleaved down like a divine sword, cutting through everything in it's path. The four attacks of the rank five Imperials barely stalled it briefly; only the rank six Imperial's attack actually held up for a while. But even it couldn't block this strike. The sword light cleaved through everything and vanished into tej darkness of this place, leaving absolute silence behind. Long Feng landed on the ground weakly, breathing heavily.
His two arms were almost crippled after this single time and his spirit energy was merely ten percent of his peak. The heaven firmament skill was really beyond his current means. It had taken almost all his spirit energy and had still nearly crippled Long Feng's arms for good. The result? Long Feng couldn't ask for more. He was actually shocked by the power of the skill. The four rank five Imperials were nowhere to be seen. They hadn't simply died; they were completely erased.
The motes of light that always appeared didn't even appear this time. As for the rank six Imperial, he stood, his blurry figure frozen. There didn't seem to be any injuries on him, but Long Feng didn't give him another glance again. After a few seconds, the figure slowly split apart from the head to the legs and fell in two parts; it was sliced apart in two perfect parts! A rank six Imperial! Although this figure might not compare to a real rank six Imperial due to many reasons, it still had the cultivation.
Long Feng struggled to remain standing and laughed.
"That must've been comparable to a rank seven Imperial's attack. It's unfortunate that I can only use it once in a long time otherwise I'd risk losing my arms. Perhaps I'll have to reach the peak spirit realm or the Imperial realm to be able to use it freely." His laughter was interrupted by a deep cough as he staggering again.
This was merely a fake world, and his physical injuries wouldn't reflect on his body, but Long Feng figured that he still couldn't use the heaven firmament skill even with his real body for a while after this. That was two show just how taxing this skill was on his body.
"I'm almost completely exhausted. I suppose it's time to leave." He sighed. He didn't want to face the next opponent. He couldn't. With ten percent of his spirit energy left, he wouldn't even be able to hold his own against a rank three Imperial.
"I admit defeat!" He murmured. This was how almost every trial he went through worked. He could admit defeat by speaking it out. But it would appear that this warrior tower functioned differently. Nothing happened even after he admitted defeat; he was still standing in the warrior tower. Before he could think, the darkness warped again and several figures appeared. The auras that flowed out already made Long Feng aware that he was probably cooked.
"Three rank six Imperials, seven rank five Imperials and five rank four wild beasts… I'm so finished." He sighed bitterly. This lineup… would be a headache even for a rank Seven Imperial. Huang Fang Hao would also probably lose to this if he was still a rank six Imperial.
"Why can't I admit defeat?" Long Feng watched the fifteen figures and felt like crying.
"Do I have to be killed? Who the hell set this rule?" The three rank six Imperials all vanished at the same time and appeared around Long Feng. Their movements were swift and filled with powerful energy as they each unleashed an attack. One of them punched out, one swung his sword while the final one slammed two hammers at Long Feng's head. Long Feng's pupils shrank as he sensed great danger. This wasn't just threatening. This was life threatening!
"If I can't admit defeat, then fine. I'm not going down without a fight!" He snorted and exploded with every ounce of energy left within his exhausted body. His demon sword energy seethed and rose to the sky. But he didn't channel that energy into his sword. Instead, he stabbed the sword into the ground and gathered all that energy into his fist and punched out at the figure who threw a fist as well.
Their fists collided, releasing a fierce surge of energy that slowed down the other two and weakened their attacks slightly. Long Feng's face paled greatly and he flew backwards and slammed into the floor. If he could cough up blood, then he would've spat out a bit already. But this also cause the attacks of the other two to miss him. The figure who threw the fist wasn't pushed back at all. It shot towards Long Feng again, gathering energy to unleash another fist.
Behind the figure, the other two rank six Imperials gathered their energy to attack again, just slightly behind the first. And then behind Long Feng, the other seven rank five Imperials as well as the wild beasts rushed forward and attacked with everything they had. This was a completely hopeless situation.
"Ah. I hope dying doesn't hurt…" Long Feng sighed again.
"Let's take a few of you along with me." He had lost his sword, so he stretched out his arm and formed a pitch black sword with his demon sword energy.
"Earth Firmament!" He roared and poured every ounce of his remaining energy into the sword. The manifested sword began to crack itself, almost shattering due to the force. He then threw his entire body along with the sword, not at the rank six Imperials but at the group of rank five Imperials and rank four Imperial level wild beasts. The Earth Firmament skill was strong, but it wouldn't be able to defeat a rank six Imperial. It could only injure them slightly.
It would be much more effective to attack the weaker ones instead. A brilliant explosion lit up the dark space and lasted for a long time before it faded. Outside the warrior tower, Long Feng coughed softly and opened his eyes. When he looked around, his eyes were filled with confusion for a few seconds before he remembered everything that happened. Right before he was 'killed' in the warrior tower, he had actually killed two rank five Imperials and a few of the rank four Imperial level wild beasts.
He wasn't sure how many. And luckily, the feeling of death wasn't painful or anything. It was as though he closed his eyes and opened them again; he was back in his real body before he even realized it. He then felt that something was off. The silence around was too… unsettling. He looked around again and found everyone staring at him blankly. The first thought that filled his mind was what happened? What had he done? Then he realized that they weren't staring at him.
Instead, they were staring at the some stele before him. He then remembered that his score would appear on the stone stele briefly after he exited the warrior tower. His heart began to beat slight faster as he turned to look at the stone stele. The thousand names on it had vanished temporarily, replaced by a single number and word. 2, 920 Points!
