Chương 277: Battle of the Overlords

The sixth level of the Hundred Divisions Battle Formation had only two battle stages. Here, the top ten would be decided. The rules didn't change much. Each person would fight several times, and at the end, only the top ten with the highest total wins and least losses would be decided. This meant the fights would continue without end until everyone had fought at least once, and the top ten with the least loss and the highest wins would be ranked.

The fights began. And the first thrilling battle was between the crowned leader of this generation; Huang Fang Hao and Dong Fang of the Nine Knights Continent, otherwise known as the Dual Bladed Knight!

Dong Fang Hao already knew that he didn't have much of a chance against Huang Fang Hao, but unlike normal geniuses, his pride ran deep into his bones. He wouldn't ever admit defeat against an opponent of the same generation. This was his pride as an overlord genius. And so he became the first person to actually make Huang Fang Hao to walk into a battle stage since the beginning of this final round.

"Huang Fang Hao, I know you're very strong. I also know that I can't defeat you. But I want you to use your full strength! Hold nothing back! I will do the same. Let's decide this in one move!" Dong Fang drew out two curved swords and held them tightly in each of his two hands as he shouted. His battle intent burned to the skies as his full aura exploded out. Rank four Imperial realm! Rank nine dual swords Dao concept! His energy was overwhelming and even the other overlords were grim faced as they stared at him.

Dong Fang laughed proudly, holding his head high as he stared at Huang Fang Hao with a blazing battle intent in his eyes. Huang Fang Hao stared back at him calmly then nodded, acknowledging his strength.

"Very well. I will not hold back. Try not to die." Saying that, he truly unleash his full aura, holding nothing back. His aura was alike a divine mountain placed on the chests of all geniuses, overlord or not. They all turned pale in the face as their energies all became disordered. Rank six Imperial realm! Rudimentary Spear Intent! Huang Fang Hao was levels above all other geniuses here. His aura alone surpressed Dong Fang till he was barely standing straight. But Dong Fang wasn't fazed. He began to laugh instead.

"Huang Fang Hao, you're truly worthy of someone who can stand above me! I, Dong Fang, admit that I am inferior to you. But I will never admit defeat! Take my swords!"

"Triple Knights Divine Strike!" Dong Fang roared, pushing his aura to a new level and actually resisting against Huang Fang Hao's unparalleled aura! A huge avatar appeared behind him, dressed in a full body armor that shone brightly and wielded two swords in both of it's hands. It looked like a divine knight brought to life. Behind that avatar, a larger avatar appeared, emitting a stronger aura. Behind the second avatar, a third knight avatar appeared, larger than the previous two.

All three avatars held dual swords and released an aura that would force any overlord genius to think twice. The three avatars them merged together into a single Knight with a powerfully aura. The knight followed Dong Fang's movement, lifting the dual swords high in the sky.

When Dong Fang swung his two swords at Huang Fang Hao, the avatar did the same thing, unleashing a powerful cross shaped sword lights that rushed towards Huang Fang Hao with power that could compare to a rank five Imperial. Huang Fang Hao stared at Dong Fang's strongest strike impassively. His spear appeared in his grasp and he slowly thrust it out, pouring every ounce of his energy into it just as Dong Fang had requested; no holding back.

Although Huang Fang Hao hadn't used a Martial skill, this strike still possessed unparalleled power. Dong Fang's attack collapsed before Huang Fang Hao's spear thrust. The remnant force surged towards him, impacting into him. The force sent Dong Fang flying, his knight avatar shattering into fragments as he coughed up blood and flew uncontrollably out of the stage as his fellow disciples caught him. A single move! The spectators burst into an uproar. Huang Fang Hao's strength was truly unbelievable.

He used a single spear thrust to defeat a rank four Imperial realm overlord! Dong Fang could easily rank third among all the overlords and even fight Lei Jie for second place. But against Huang Fang Hao, he was utterly helpless. This scene was a huge blow to many geniuses. The gap between them and Huang Fang Hao was as wide as an ocean, completely unbreachable. Long Feng's next opponent was an overlord genius; Ping Ran of the Drifting Clouds Overlord Continent. He was ranked higher than Jin Bao, but wasn't much stronger than him. And he was the first person to fight Huang Fang Hao in the supreme heaven mystic realm, although he lost as well.

The two youths stood across from each other and stared at each other calmly. Ping Ran slowly drew out his curved saber without a word, flourishing it and releasing his full aura.

"I won't hold back, Long Feng." Long Feng nodded and drew out the Origin Spirit Sword immediately, unleashing his aura as well.

"I couldn't have asked for anything else!" Ping Ran's figure suddenly became ethereal, like the clouds. He moved, fading away and appearing behind Long Feng with his saber already close to Long Feng's back. But Long Feng's speed had never been his weakness. He used the second step of the Nine Firmament Steps to the fullest, vanishing as Ping Ran's saber cut through his afterimage. His own sword appeared from a tricky angle and stabbed towards Ping Ran's abdomen.

Ping Ran's expression remained calm as he twisted his body and dodged the sword, stabbing his own saber at Long Feng's chest while in the air. Long Feng's demon energy immediately spread out, enclosing him in a thick cloud of demonic energy. The demon energy merged with his sword energy and began to suppress Ping Ran's saber Dao.

"Fading Clouds Sky splitting saber" Ping Ran roared, using the exact same move eh used against Huang Fang Hao. His saber blade began to ripple like liquid while becoming incorporeal like a distant cloud above.

"Three layered waves demon annihilation!" Long Feng didn't lose out and immediately unleashed his own strike. The two attacks collided and they ended up even. The two youths began to exchange rapid blows, the sword and saber colliding at a speed beyond what the naked eye could view. Long Feng and Ping Ran seemed to vanish themselves, melding into two sword and saber light that collided while their actual figures were too quick for the weak to view them.

At some point, the saber light began to slowly lose ground and fall back under the constant attacks of the sword light.

"Gathered Clouds Tribulation Strike!" Ping Ran used another Saber skill, trying to turn the situation around. But Long Feng naturally wouldn't let the advantage he had to be taken away.

"Demon Sword!" His origin spirit sword because pitch black from the merging of the sword and demon energies, unleashing a sword strike of great power. At the same time, Long Feng slowly pointed his index finger.

"Heaven ripping finger!". His finger tip glowed and a thin beam of light shot out behind the Demon sword strike, forcing Ping Ran into a bad situation. But Ping Ran was naturally still an overlord genius. He wouldn't be worth his title if he lost so quickly. He blocked both of the attacks and was pushed backwards a few steps while letting out a few stuffy coughs. Then just as Long Feng moved again, he spoke, "Enough! I concede!" Long Feng paused, staring at Ping Ran with a frown.

"Why?"

"What do you mean why? It's obvious that you are a bit stronger than me. Would you rather we waste our energies so that the others will take advantage of that to beat us later?"

"Oh. Alright then. Thanks for letting me win" Long Feng understood and clasped his fist. He was the person who was most unwilling to have a long battle, after all his spirit energy would run out before his opponent used up half of their own energy. The battles continued. Each overlord had fought several times already, and they even fought against each other. Jin Bao had fought Lei Jie and lost after three moves. Lei Jie's lightning had a destructive property that rendered Jin Bao's defense useless.

And he was also a level below Lei Jie in cultivation so he admitted defeat after a while. Dong Fang entered the stage again and defeated Wang Qiang, the weakest overlord. Even Li Yue'er had faced an Overlord. She fought against Mei Ling and although she had lost, she actually lasted the longest against an overlord, setting a record. A few hours later, nearly all the overlords had faced each other. Long Feng had defeated Wang Qiang as well and forced Mei Ling to concede.

Lei Jie and Huang Fang Hao also fought and the former actually withstood two attacks from the latter before admitting defeat. Long Feng also fought the new overlord from the Desolate Continent and won. Among the overlords, the spectators were already coming to a consensus on who was stronger than who. Huang Fang Hao remained the undefeatable leader of them all. No one had withstood three attacks from him yet. Lei Jie was ranked below him. His power was also immense and he was inferior only to Huang Fang Hao.

Dong Fang came immediately after Lei Jie and his dual swords gave him a nearly unparalleled offense. Long Feng was ranked fourth place. He had defeated all the other overlords ranked beneath him but hadn't faced any of the strongest trio. Then came Mei Ling, Ping Ran, Jin Bao, the new overlord Huang Shi and finally, Wang Qiang. And this ranking was quite accurate. The atmosphere reached a new high when two geniuses were called into the stage. Long Feng against Huang Fang Hao at last!
