The Hundred Divisions Battle Stage was undoubtedly majestic, towering into the sky like a pyramid shaped pillar. The crowd was dazzled and shaken by the sight as well as the profound willpower that surrounded it.
"This is the Hundred Divisions Battle Stages, where the true Hundred Continent Meeting will take place. There are exactly are exactly a hundred battle stages arranged in a pyramid formation. Each of you has your token from the supreme heaven mystic realm. Those tokens will serve their true purposes each. Everyone will fight several times while ascending the battle stages. From the lowest stages, the weak among you will be eliminated while the strong ones will rise until the highest stage.
Your token will glow brightly when it is your turn to fight and it is completely random. If you win three non consecutive fights, you will rise to a higher stage, and losing will keep you stranded where you are. If you have five consecutive losses or fifteen total losses, you will be disqualified entirely from the competition. The top hundred and the top ten geniuses will be decided. Each of you should give it your best.
Catching the attention of any of the esteemed envoys will change the course of your destiny completely, and the rewards will also set the path for your future." The man slowly explained, his calm gaze piercing through the hearts of all three hundred elite geniuses. They all reacted and took out their tokens, holding them tightly with serious expressions on their faces.
"I wish you all good luck. The Final round of the Hundred Continent Meeting begins now!" Saying that, the man waved the purple token again. Lightning arcs flashed across it and the Hundred Battle Stages shook. Then several geniuses' token began to glow with blinding light. They were temporarily in a daze before they quickly reacted and followed the direction of the tokens to leap into several battle stages at the bottom level.
Within minutes, the bottom stages of the hundred divisions battle stages were each holding two geniuses facing each other with tense expressions. The base of the formation had about 30-40 stages which meant nearly a hundred geniuses were paired in each stage. There was barely any waste of time. The geniuses instantly began to exchange blows, holding nothing back as they strived to get as high a rank as they could.
The selection was random, and although none of the seven overlord geniuses and one overlord prodigy was picked, a few imperial realm geniuses of the Overlord continents were also fighting. They displayed great strength, defeating their spirit realm opponents with mocking ease. In the hundred continent meeting, it was undeniable that Imperial realm geniuses were absolutely at the peak, having very little challenges. Rank seven, eight and nine spirit realm geniuses fought savagely.
Many geniuses were unfortunate, running into opponents stronger than themselves. In that situation, a loss was hardly unavoidable. The winners were led out by their tokens and new geniuses were drawn in, creating a loop. The requirement to rise to a higher level was to defeat three total opponents in the lower level. This was very easy for many geniuses, and they would have rather they fought three times in a row and went ahead, but the rules didn't support that.
Each person could only fight once till their token shone again, signalling them into the battle stages again. It wasn't long before an overlord genius was called into a battle stage, Mei Ling, the only female among the seven overlord geniuses, from the only family clan in the seven Overlord Continents, the Mei Clan Overlord Continent. She leaped lithely into a battle stage and stood calmly with a pretty smile while her opponent jumped in with a bitter smile. Her opponent was a peak spirit realm warrior from a high ranked continent. He was the strongest genius where he came from, and he had believed that he would be able to shine in the hundred continent meeting, maybe even aim for the top ten. But when he truly came and witnessed the various geniuses, the Overlord continent's geniuses, the seven overlords, he was absolutely shaken.
Forget the top ten, with his peak spirit realm cultivation, the top fifty was a great feat already. That was because there were several peak spirit realm Geniuses like him from other high ranked continents, and the seven Overlord Continents had even more. The several Imperial realm geniuses were also present, leaving him feeling downhearted. And the strength of the seven overlords made him realize that his past arrogance was nothing but a fool's joke. And now he was actually facing one of those overlords.
It was rumoured that the weakest among them was a rank three Imperial realm master. Thus even if he was facing the weakest among the overlord geniuses, he didn't have the slightest hope that he could withstand one move. Not to mention, Mei Ling was no soft persimmon. Even among the seven overlords, her strength was rumoured to be around the middle, not the low ranks. Mei Ling assessed her opponent with a beautiful smile, her pearl white teeth showing brightly.
"You're a bit handsome. Why don't you admit defeat? I don't want to mistakenly harm your face." Mei Ling opened her small mouth and spoke with a smile. Her opponent froze in hesitation, wondering if he should just give up and save his strength for the next fight. As he was wondering, he fixed his gaze on Mei Ling, his mind in full caution and ready to concede defeat the moment she moved. But suddenly, his pupils shrank. A finger tapped his shoulder from behind him and a soft giggle sounded right at his back.
"This brother, what's there to think of? I really don't wish to harm you. But you're leaving me no choice." Mei Ling's figure that he was staring at slowly faded and she appeared behind him. Even among the observers, few people could follow her movements, and only the other overlords could accurately see through her movement skill. The peak spirit realm genius shivered under her cold touch and didn't dare to hesitate anymore.
"I give up!" He shouted hoarsely. He didn't have even the slightest will to fight her. The gap between them was like a wide gulf that he couldn't ever cross no matter what he did. Instead of eating a solid beating and losing his ability to fight the remaining battles, he might as well give up and spare himself the trouble. Mei Ling smiled brightly as he conceded defeat, then she leapt out of the stage with a dazzling movement.
He opponent sighed and left the stage as well, waiting for his next fight and hoping it wasn't a strong opponent. The battles continued, and none of them was particularly eye catching. The truly strong geniuses never actually fought each other and their opponents were much weaker than them, giving them an easy win. Another two overlords fought as well, defeating their opponents with ease. Then Long Feng's token began to glow brightly and he felt a faint pull towards one of the empty battle stage.
Without thinking too much about it, he rushed towards that stage and stood straight on it. His movement caught the attention of many people and he became the focus of attention. His opponent, a rank eight spirit realm youth also jumped into the stage and stared at Long Feng with a solemn expression. No one hadn't heard of the new overlord genius, Long Feng, a rank one spirit realm warrior.
It even came off as a joke to some of the other geniuses as Long Feng had fought Jin Bao without any other genius watching the fight, so even the other overlords found it hard to believe. But Jin Bao hasn't spoken a word about it even though it was going around that he had lost to Long Feng. And the true powerhouses also didn't refute the rumors, which forced all these geniuses to believe this crazy fact, that a rank one spirit realm warrior had somehow become an overlord.
Of course, many of them stuck didn't fully believe this. That was human nature. They hadn't witnessed his strength with their own eyes, and he was also new and very young compared to the other overlords. So many people thought that he must have used some unorthodox means to defeat Jin Bao. It was even possible that he didn't truly defeat Jin Bao, it could be a sham for all they knew. But one thing was certain; Long Feng was the most underestimated overlord.
He was seen as the weak link among the seven, the weakest one. Thus many geniuses had the idea of becoming famous by forcing a draw with him, and maybe exposing his lies and defeating him. This youth was of the same idea. He didn't even believe that the rumors were true. How could a rank one spirit realm warrior, one with an unstable foundation at that, defeat Jin Bao, an overlord? It just didn't make any sense. So he wasn't even considering giving up.
Not until he truly witnessed this 'impossible' feat with his eyes, he wouldn't ever believe the rumors.
"I've heard much about you, Long Feng. And I truly feel nervous facing you, but I am not afraid of you. And I don't believe even for a second that you are as strong as rumoured. There are seven levels between us, and I believe that is an unbreachable gap. Show me the strength you used to defeat the Berserk Wolf!" The youth exclaimed coldly, releasing his full aura. Although he said he didn't believe, he didn't dare to let his guard down. After all, there was never a smoke without a fire.
For this rumor to spread, then there must be a reason. What he didn't notice though, was the hundreds of weird gazes filled with mockery that focused on him as he prepared to fight. The thousands of spectators had clearly watched how Long Feng had defeated Jin Bao with his own strength. The fight was nothing short of exciting. Yet this guy was actually showing off his rank eight spirit realm aura before someone who defeated a rank three Imperial? Was his head kicked by a donkey?
Long Feng stared at his opponents calmly, then slowly smiled.
"I'm not really fond of opponents who admit defeat before a fight even begin actually. Give it your best." The youth frowned, taking his words for mockery. A grim look crossed his face.
"Very well. Here I come!" The powerful aura of a rank six concept surged out of him and merged with his spirit energy, causing it to become stronger than before.
"Body piercing Bone crushing Fist!" He roared. This was an Imperial grade martial skill, the strongest skill he could unleash currently. Even in his high ranked continents, Imperial skills weren't garbages, although they weren't rare. This skill was a mid grade imperial skill that came close to a high grade one. Although he couldn't use it's true strength, it still granted him power beyond normal rank eight spirit realm warriors.
His fist screeched through the air and headed for Long Feng's face, aiming to send him flying at once. Unleashing his trump card at the beginning would catch Long Feng off guard and leave him with no chance to prepare a strong counter before he was defeated. Or at least, that was what he thought. Long Feng stared at the incoming fight indifferently. Time seemed to stop as the fist was just a meter away from his face and people were beginning to hold their breaths, wondering if Long Feng truly was overestimated.
The other overlords, everyone focused. Although this wasn't a strong opponent, they could still gleam a bit on Long Feng's true strength from how he defeated this opponent. And if he lost, then all of this would prove to be just a farce. The youth suddenly froze, his eyes glazed with his pupils rolling upwards. His attack slowly dispersed as he dropped to the ground, his face blank.
