Ao Zhentian didn't wait for Long Feng to reply. He took a step forward and vanished along with the latter, reappearing in the palace from earlier. Long Feng was beginning to feel lightheaded from all this extreme speed that was more like teleportation to him. He barely stood straight without staggering backwards this time. Ao Zhentian walked over to the cup of tea they left behind and sat down, clearing the area with a wave of his had. Then he studied Long Feng with a serious expression.
"I've tried to sense the cause of the issue. What really surprises me is that I am completely unable to view your Dantian. Considering the difference between us, I'll credit that to your own fortuitous encounter." Long Feng's tense heart slowly relaxed as Ao Zhentian said this. His greatest worry was his dual Dao concepts of light and demon energy. Anyone who found out would definitely want to know exactly how that was possible, which was something Long Feng himself didn't understand yet.
But even more than that, he was afraid of anyone finding out about the three Dragons, the Chaos Sources as Wu Kong called them. He didn't know what they were, yet their very existence would cause untold greed within people. He didn't doubt that. If he was given a choice, he would rather the world knew about his extreme dual Daos than for a single person to see through his Dantian and view the three dragons. He slowly walked over and sat down across Ao Zhentian, listening closely.
"But your energy is extremely chaotic. There is a risk of your cultivation falling down to the Yang realm at any minute. Even if that doesn't happen, you will never be able to advance your cultivation if this isn't handled. With such an unstable foundation, forget the deity and Dao realms. You won't even be able to reach the Imperial realm." Ao Zhentian continued, his words reminding Long Feng of the exact disadvantages he already knew of.
"I don't know the cause of this your unstable foundation. It could be due to you rushing your cultivation, but I don't believe that. Your pure energy suggests that your foundation must have been very stable, and your combat power confirms that. In that case… what's causing it?" Ao Zhentian asked slowly, staring into Long Feng's eyes. Long Feng's heartbeat slowly increased again as he thought of what to say and realized that… he also had no idea. All he knew was that it began when he comprehended the light Dao.
As for exactly what was going on, he wasn't sure. He believed that as long as he could completely separate the two energies, he would end the issue. But even if that was true, could be accomplish it?
"You don't have to explain if it's your secrets. I'm also not going to force you. Just remember that this would affect your future. Try your best to figure out a way. And if you can't, you can always look for me." Ao Zhentian noticed Long Feng's hesitation and added.
"Thank you Senior. Junior is very grateful for your help. I already know what to do." Long Feng sighed softly and clasped his fists.
"Hm. That's good. Your genius meeting is in a few days. It will be good if you can deal with this issue before then. The meeting won't be easy, and you're now a disciple of the Supreme Heaven Sect. You can't lose face for us." Ao Zhentian yawned and said.
"Senior, what rank is the Supreme Heaven Sect exactly?" Long Feng asked curiously. He originally thought that the Supreme Heaven Sect was just another ordinary force in the mainland and Ao Zhentian was just one of the weaker envoys who had interest in Long Feng. But now after everything, he would be stupid if he still thought that way. That Mu Binglan was clearly a very high ranking envoy. The Frozen Empress Valley behind her should also be terrifying as well. After all, it was a two star force.
Yet Ao Zhentian had barged into her land fearlessly and even disregarded her completely. And Mu Binglan herself seemed to be wary of him. There could only be one explanation to that; Ao Zhentian was stronger than Mu Binglan! And Mu Binglan was one of the two strongest envoys that came to the continent zone. If Ao Zhentian was even stronger than she was, then…
"Ah. The Supreme Heaven Sect is just so so." Ao Zhentian yawned again and stretched.
"What's the ranking again? Um, five, four, three, two and one right?" Love what you're reading? Discover and support the author on the platform they originally published on. Long Feng raised his eyebrows curiously. The Supreme Heaven Sect was just so so? Wasn't that just a joke? Unless if Ao Zhentian was already the strongest in the sect. But that didn't seem possible as well.
"Um, let's see… the Frozen Empress Valley is a two star force. In that case, the Supreme Heaven Sect should be a quasi one star force." So Zhentian replied.
"Quasi one star force? What's that?" Long Feng asked, though he already had a faint speculation in his heart.
"Ah, how do I put it? Quasi one star forces are stronger than two star forces but don't have enough heritage accumulated to be considered as one star forces. In other words, we are stronger than two star forces but weaker than the four Royal Clans." Ao Zhentian explained slowly.
"Ah?" Long Feng was startled. Stronger than two star forces? How powerful would that be exactly? Two star forces were supposedly beneath only the four Royal Clans, but it would seem that it wasn't correct. Above the two star forces were the Quasi one star forces! The hierarchy of the Mainland was really astonishing. How strong were the cultivators of these forces? What realms were they? It was no surprise that the continent zone couldn't compare at all.
"Don't be surprised. The four Royal Clans are more than just a bit stronger than the Quasi one star forces. You will understand once you reach the Mainland and witness everything for yourself. For now, don't overthink it. Focus on raising your cultivation as much as you can before we leave." Ao Zhentian added to clear Long Feng's thoughts.
"Also, that female friend of yours, she's already a rank three Imperial, very close to making a breakthrough. If you don't buckle up, you're not going to even see her shadow to chase after." Long Feng's eyes instantly bulged as Ao Zhentian's words resounded in his ears.
"R-rank three… Imperial? Senior, are you mistaken?" This was the first thought that crossed his mind. He was fully aware that Li Yue'er had a great talent which was greatly limited by the demon entity within her Dantian, but to reach rank three Imperial realm from rank five Spirit realm in a few days was… Frankly unbelievable.
"Why are you looking so shocked? The Frozen Empress Valley isn't some run down the mill force. I won't be surprised if she reaches the peak Imperial realm in months. Actually, I am surprised that she hasn't. It would appear that she hasn't yet cultivated their core manuals." Ao Zhentian glanced at Long Feng's expression and spoke calmly. Long Feng's head buzzed even more at that. Rank three Imperial realm! In several days! Was that even possible?
Well, considering that this was a two star sect that they were talking about, it should be within the realm of possibility. But peak Imperial realm? Long Feng's mind began to wander.
"Then… can the Supreme Heaven Sect do something similar?" That was logical. If the Frozen Empress Valley was inferior to the Supreme Heaven Sect, then it should be possible for Ao Zhentian to have similar means. Ao Zhentian seemed to guess what was on his mind and gave him a side glance then chuckled.
"Kid, are you looking down on me? Of course I can do that. Unfortunately, I won't. Firstly because of your current situation. Attempting any breakthrough now would utterly ruin your future and you won't be of any use to me then." He paused and glanced away.
"Also, your female friend… in the short time I sensed her presence, I could tell that she has a dormant special body that grants her a ridiculously high affinity with the means of the Frozen Empress Valley. I'm not sure of the details but the Frozen Empress Valley should have only used their resources on her because of her untapped potential. If nothing unexpected happens, she could rise to the ranks of the Mainland's strongest geniuses within a few years at most."
Saying this, Ao Zhentian glanced at Long Feng again.
"With just your combat power, you're far from comparable to her, nor are you worthy enough for the Supreme Heaven Sect to take you that seriously. I'll tell you now, although your combat power is rare, it isn't impossible to find. I know a few in the sect who may be even more monstrous than you. Combat power barely has an effect beyond the Imperial realm, unless in some special circumstances. In short, you aren't worthy yet."
Long Feng's slight hope slowly extinguished after listening to Ao Zhentian's not so gentle words. After a brief thought, he realized that Ao Zhentian was right. The Supreme Heaven Sect certainly wouldn't lack geniuses with outstanding combat power like him. He wasn't unique. His Dao comprehension wasn't special, his cultivation wasn't high, his cultivation speed wasn't shocking… he actually didn't have a single factor that would make him stand out in the Mainland. Hell, he had an unstable foundation.
Unlike Li Yue'er who had a dormant divine constitution. A divine constitution was something similar to the Sword Spirit Body which could allegedly stand at the peak of the mainland whenever it appeared. Although her constitution might not compare to the Sword Spirit Body, even the most trash constitution could still draw countless forces, including two star forces. Not to mention, Li Yue'er's constitution was anything but normal. Long Feng slowly sighed and cleared all these thoughts from his head.
To think he was excited about his strength. He really wasn't anything special in the Mainland.
"Don't feel disappointed. The geniuses of the Mainland are beyond what you can imagine. You can't compare your current self to them. If you don't have a strong will, they'll make you despair completely. Just focus on your cultivation. Don't let anything shake your will. You grew up in the continent zone, a place devoid of resources. I believe you came from a low ranked continent? To reach this level is a miracle in itself.
Even if you don't reach the top ranks in the Mainland, if you give it your best, you should still be able to hold your ground. Before everything though, you must get rid of your unstable foundation. Otherwise you wouldn't have a future to speak of." Ao Zhentian noticed Long Feng's silent and quickly added, thinking his earlier words were a bit too harsh.
"Senior is right. The current me… I am far too weak. My cultivation is weak, my Dao comprehension are merely above average and my skills aren't anything. Huang Fang Hao alone is far beyond what I can handle, not to mention the Mainland's geniuses. I'm not disappointed or losing my determination. I'm merely accepting the fact." Long Feng shook his head and replied quietly. Ao Zhentian nodded.
"It's good that you understand. You can take your time cultivating here. I'll return on the day of your genius meeting to take you there. As I said, it will be a good opportunity for you to experience the weaker geniuses of the mainland first hand. They aren't exactly geniuses there, but they're still just right to pressure the current you." He slowly stood up and began to walk away.
"Remember, your priority should be finding a way to stabilize your energy. If you can do that before we leave, I will grant you a chance to raise your strength and teach you some new skills. As for cultivation manual, you won't be able to use it until the Imperial realm so we won't go to that now. You'll have more than enough manuals to choose from in the sect, as long as you have the required merits." Saying this, he vanished silently, leaving Long Feng alone in the large hall.
Long Feng remained seated and took a deep breath, letting everything he had learned today to settle down. Even now, he was still shocked to learn that Li Yue'er was already a rank three Imperial. With her combat power, it was very likely that he was no longer her opponent. This caused him to sigh.
"I have a long way to go if I want to keep up. I wonder how Liuli is doing as well. She's already in the Mainland. Perhaps she's also stronger than I am now." He smiled when he thought of Hua Liuli, then his mind drifted to Yan jian. He reached into his void ring and took out a large gourd that looked like a wine gourd. It was beyond ordinary and no one would think much of it. But this was anything but ordinary. It was created by Wu Kong.
Although he created it out of nothing, it was still far beyond what any treasure or armament could compare to. Long Feng had already tried all he could but couldn't leave a scratch on it. Sending his consciousness into the gourd, he was transported into a beautiful world. It was very small, just enough to fit a palace. In the center of this world was a transparent figure floating in the air.
The figure was very faint and was filled with flaming symbols and tattoos that covered the entire figure and gave off a faint heat. This was Yan Jian. Or to be precise, this was Yan Jian's soul which Wu Kong had revived. Long Feng stood beside the soul and smiled gently.
"Brother, I'm one step closer to the mainland, closer to the Liu Royal clan. Perhaps I have a hundred more to go, but I won't falter. Someday, soon, I will make him pay. Just wait for a while."
