Dear Diary, After spending most of yesterday doing Search and Rescue work, I realized something. Physically, I'm absolutely budget Superman with tits at this point. Maybe even Wonder Woman, but I'm pretty sure I'm not that hot. Mostly due to the extensive scarring. But when it comes to strength and durability, I've yet to find anything since the Mother of Water Panthers that could give me a serious fight.
I'm more worried about collateral and unintended consequences than I am about taking a hit, tiring out, or even being able to deliver hurt or lift something. But mental things are another story. Psychological ones, since I can feel Saffron frowning at me for calling myself stupid. Which I guess I'm really not.
Seriously, I can talk math with University profs here and now and occasionally add something meaningful to the conversation, and I'm doing just fine teaching arithmetic and even a little algebra, or 'variable equations' as Saffron calls it, to the kids at the Temple. I can follow along with most of what Saffron, Siobhan, and Tallulah are saying when they start talking Mana Shaping, even if the only useful thing I've got to add to those conversations is 'yeah, I'll bring the Mana'.
I can even remember stuff, at least in the 'recall details' sense. I'm still shit at deliberately remembering to do stuff without something prompting me. Although I remembered about Yule coming up in a week, so maybe I'm getting better at that. But I definitely have some assorted trauma that still needs to be dealt with. Some of it seems stupid and silly even, like what I realized yesterday. I'm afraid of Search and Rescue work. Okay, not 'afraid', exactly. Search and Rescue is stupidly stressful work.
The Search part I've got to be looking for anything that looks out of the ordinary, like fallen trees or collapsed buildings, then when I find something I have to see if there's some possibility someone's trapped underneath it. Either way, I've got to pull whatever it is apart carefully, or I'm likely to accidentally kill a survivor. Okay, this many days after in the freezing weather we've had it's more likely that I'll violate a body, but even there if there's enough body left, I can Revive them.
Just for clarity's sake, while I can Revive someone after four days, I cannot do that without consequence. It's not a Black Dragon summoning level of oof, but it was enough that I had to sit down and rest for like an hour. Okay, I sat down and rested on my Altar in the Temple of Love, because I'd just delivered a kid whose body had been lodged under a log down in Norfolk for a couple days. She wasn't in great shape herself, at least psychologically.
She wasn't catatonic, but she didn't do much but cling to me until Cherry managed to convince her to go with him to the restaurant for some food. But along with all the normal Search and Rescue stress, some part of me is also hypervigilant, constantly on the lookout for someone waiting to tag me with some kind of whammy. I am absolutely not gonna blame Ria for this in any way whatsoever, because from what I've been able to piece together and remember, I asked her to do what she did. Sort of, anyway.
But I'm still worried about something like that happening, which is utterly, completely irrational. But that's what Trauma does, it makes us worry about shit that we shouldn't be worried about, distracts us from what's important. At the very least, I guess hypervigilance isn't a bad thing while doing Search and Rescue, but it's not good for my state of mind. Seeing Cherry in the Temple reminded me, so after dinner, while we all floated in the Bath soaking, I pulled Saffron over to me.
"Hey Kitten," I murmured, "I need a favor." She sighed melodramatically and said, "fine, you can attend to Darling this evening." I snorted, pulled Siobhan over to settle on Saffron's far side, and quietly said, "not what I was talking about."
"You're not going to turn me down though, are you?" I looked over at Siobhan, who had Hailee curled up on her far side, sleeping in the warmth of the Bath. Ice Pop looked so quietly eager I couldn't really say anything except, "yeah, of course I'm gonna abscond with her when everybody else is asleep. It's for her health, after all." Both of them snorted and giggled, and before I could forget again, I quietly said, "Cherry." It only took my brilliant Kitten a moment or two before enlightenment filled her eyes.
"Oh!" She turned to Siobhan.
"Our Goddess has promised one of her Priests that she would find a way to get him pregnant." This book is hosted on another platform. Read the official version and support the author's work. While I kinda gaped at the thought that she'd known, because I couldn't remember telling her, Siobhan tilted her head, her hand stroking at her belly.
"I can't very well say anything about that being impossible, because reasons, can I?" Then she snorted.
"Even if I would advise anyone against pregnancy, because I am somewhat biased." I tried to hold back, but a frown crawled across my face.
"Okay, now I need to find a way to make more Siobhan babies without you having to deal with that." That got a quiet chuckle out of both of them, after which Saffron said, "I'll need to do some research. Will you help me, Darling?" Siobhan laid her head on Saffron's breast and said, "certainly, Kitten." Saffron snorted.
"You would say that when I've already offered up your time tonight to Tabitha."
"You could join us?" Saffron shrugged.
"I'm curious what she has planned for you. Also, I'm mostly wanting to bite you." At that point Siobhan reached up and wordlessly slipped a finger, then two, then three into Saffron's mouth while my Kitten froze, then giggled, then gently brought her teeth together just hard enough to leave rapidly receding imprints in Siobhan's skin. After Siobhan put her arm back around Saffron, my Kitten quietly asked, "is there nothing you wouldn't do?" Without moving or opening her eyes, Siobhan said, "anything.
Even bear another child, should that be your desire."
"That's not real healthy," I said. Siobhan frowned.
"I mean, I get it. You want to give us stuff we want, but stuff that's actively awful for you?" Again without opening her eyes, she said, "I would hope you don't take such liberties frivolously. But if it is truly your heart's desire? To have me bear your child after I've given birth to Saffron's? I told you once, if you desired to do so while I looked upon you, I would submit. Willingly, if not eagerly."
"Yeah, well. Not feeling any kind of urgent need to populate your womb after it's empty. Let's look for other solutions." I ran a finger across Saffron's lips.
"After we've figured out how to put a baby in that lunatic Priest of mine's belly." A while later, once everyone had seemingly fallen asleep, I reached across to Siobhan.
"You still awake?" Her lips curved.
"And waiting for you to be ready for me." I slipped us both to the Bedroom, lying on our backs on the Bed, looking up at the mosaic mirror above us. She frowned as she saw her belly.
"I'm sorry, Mistress."
"Why, exactly? Also, who are you talking to again?"
"Tabitha." She smiled as she said it.
"I'm rather less than capable of pleasing you like this." I snorted, slipping an arm around her, cupping her breast with that hand.
"You say that like I'd intended to let you."
"But..." I interrupted her argument by covering her mouth with my own, swallowing her sudden quiet moan as I rolled her nipple between my fingers, slipped my other hand down between her thighs. When her quiet noises changed, got the slightest bit more insistent, I slid my lips down to her chin, to the hollow of her throat, and finally down to her other breast. Her nipple stiffening against my tongue, she breathed out, "Tabitha. Oh, Tabitha. Would that I could spend all night like this."
Time flows oddly in the Bedroom. It is also, when I'm pissed off enough, a bitch who will sit and stay until I tell her to move. I'm not sure how I did what I did, but I reached out with that part of me that governs stepping outside of Time and took hold of that flow within the Bedroom. I stretched that time out, bit by bit, until her back arched and my name escaped her lips. Then I held it still, held her still, stretched that moment out.
Further and further, her shuddering oscillating between tiny shivers and full body tremors. I held her there until the sun rose above the horizon. As it did, I captured her mouth with my own, and swallowed the final dregs of her climactic moans like fine wine. She blinked, looked at me, and giggled muzzily.
"I think the others might be a touch envious after that." Before I could reply, Saffron's voice filled our heads. Why would I be envious. There's a rota, after all. Since when? I mean, I wasn't against the idea, but... Since all of us spontaneously sank into your Maw last night after watching less than half of that, Goof. I chuckled as Siobhan blushed. So I get to bring you here tomorrow night? No. I'm last. Once you've had plenty of practice. Rank hath.
That got me laughing, right up until Siobhan grunted out a quiet, "oof."
"You need the toilet?" She shook her head.
"No, although... Gah. I'd best return to Hailee soon, and hope she's willing to sit with me while I catch up on my... Argh! That's my bladder! Toilet now please!" I settled her on the toilet as she evacuated things. On the one hand, watching one of my ladies deal with bodily waste has never been on my list of things to do, let alone high on the list, but watching as baby extremity sized bits of her belly distended was just fascinating.
I could not look away, and eventually she took my hand and laid it on her belly while she did her business. So weird. So fuckin' weird, but I couldn't find it in me to look away, or step away, or do anything but hand her the little wash cup. Once I got her settled into bed, with Hailee agreeing to sit with her so long as somebody brought her snacks and books, which Maze and Ria agreed to, it was back to Search and Rescue.
Honestly I'm not sure how much longer this will take, but I really hope we're done in time for Yule. It'd make me feel better knowing that everybody who was coming home would be home for Yule.
