Later at night, Long Feng circulated his cultivation, greatly dispersing the effects of the wine. Naturally, he only got drunk because he wasn't actively resisting the wine. Unless it was much stronger than that, he would be able to clear his mind once he circulated his energy.
"You're awake?" Cheng Zhi's voice floated over from the side.
"Mm." He nodded and sat up while shaking his head slightly to get rid of the lightheadedness.
"The wine is called fiery spring, and each sip feels like flame going down the throat. It is strong enough to forcefully keep an Imperial unconscious for up to several days. Only deities can resist it." Cheng Zhi smiled. Long Feng shook his head.
"I'm merely a bit stronger than my cultivation suggests. I'm still far from comparing to elder brother Cheng and Xiao." He replied. Cheng Zhi didn't say anything about that.
"Xiao Hu told me he brought a Rock ape for you as well. They have a dense amount of a spirit beast's bloodline, giving them great strength. It's blood also has extremely great effects on the body ofand can directly temper your body with no side effects, other than some pain." He explained.
"I understand. I'll soak myself in it just as elder brother Xiao said I should."
"What...?" Cheng Zhi chuckled.
"If you tried that, then I'm afraid you'd suffer. Your body won't withstand the full effect of the blood. At your level, you should dilute it with water till it reaches a level that'll force out your body's potential without breaking it." Long Feng laughed awkwardly after hearing that. Indeed. Why would he follow Xiao Hu's words directly?
"Oh. Elder brother Cheng, do you know what these are?" Long Feng remembered and proceeded to take out the deity resurgence pill as well as the bronzeflame talisman. Cheng Zhi glanced at the two objects and explained.
"That's the deity resurgence pill, used to refine your cultivation. This one is only a low grade one, the least dangerous one. As for the talisman... it's a rather rare treasure. When you find yourself in danger, all you need to do is pour your energy into it and burn the talisman. You'll instantly be teleported a thousand miles away in any direction, saving your life." Long Feng realized the value of both treasures and couldn't help but thank Ren Ji in his mind. Especially the bronzeflame talisman.
It was something Long Feng needed, as it could come in handy.
"Use the rock ape's blood for now. After a week, I'll ask little Hu to guide you. With his guidance, you should at least be able to reach the deity realm with your body in a month or two." Cheng Zhi added. At that moment, Xiao Hu came over and sat beside them.
"Now that I think about it, little Hu gave you a first meeting present. As the eldest, I shouldn't lose out to him. Let's see..." Cheng Zhi's words caused Long Feng's eyes to light up.
"I was planning to give this to little Hu, but nevermind. You can have it. I'll find another one for him." Saying that, a three coloured pill appeared on his palm, spreading a pleasant medicinal scent into the air. He calmly explained the effects of the pill.
"This is a three roots equisite pill, a peak mortal grade pill. I refined it using the spirit roots of three special deity level beasts and a few other ingredients. It has the effect of utterly cleansing the body of a deity three times over, releasing all the impurities gathered. It is mild, so you should be able to use it as well. At the same time, it tempers your body from within. If you use it in concert with the rock ape's blood, your body strength should surge dramatically without side effects.
The blood will increase your vitality while the pill will refine your body and clear all impurities." Long Feng gratefully received the pill and stored it cautiously while glancing at Cheng Zhi.
"Thank you, elder brother Cheng."
"It's nothing. It's the least I can do as your elder brother." He smiled and shook his head.
"Elder brother, you mentioned that you refined it yourself?" Long Feng asked. Stolen novel; please report. Cheng Zhi nodded.
"That's right. I've been dabbling in the art of alchemy with those old fellows at the Alchemy division for the past year and I've picked up a thing or two." Long Feng's eyes lit up.
"Alchemy... what rank of alchemist are you, elder brother?" He didn't expect that Cheng Zhi would actually be an alchemist. And looking at the beautiful three coloured pill, Long Feng didn't think his grade would be low. Just like anything else, alchemists were divided into several ranks based on their level of proficiency. The exact same ranking applied to the art of blacksmithing.
"I'm embarrassed to say but I'm still only an alchemy apprentice. I've yet to reach the grade of alchemy master."
"Wow, elder brother! That's extremely great!" Long Feng exclaimed, genuinely impressed. An alchemy apprentice could refine mortal grade pills, and to become an alchemy master, they would need to refine a few earth grade pills.
"Hahaha, you're flattering me. I'm not really talented in the art." Cheng Zhi laughed.
"I'm actually really interested in alchemy. Back where I come from, alchemists are as rare as the blue moons. Pills themselves are extremely rare and sought for." Long Feng replied.
"Oh?" Cheng Zhi raised a brow.
"That explains why there's a negligible amount of pill toxins in your body. That's actually a good thing. If you take pills now, your body will absorb their effects greatly. If I'm free, I'll refine several pills that'll improve your body and your cultivation. Your strength will improve dramatically, and as Long Feng you ensure you have a stable foundation and eliminate the pill toxins once a while, you shouldn't have a problem."
"Then I'll thank you for your efforts, elder brother Cheng." Long Feng quickly thanked gratefully without trying to refuse the offer. He was in need of any means to raise his strength as quickly and stably aw possible. Cheng Zhi waved his arm.
"Ah it's nothing. No need to thank me at every turn." He paused and glanced at the sky.
"You and Xiao Hu should probably get going. Remember to come over tomorrow evening for dinner." Xiao Hu and Long Feng bid Cheng Zhi goodnight before returning back to their caves together. When they arrived, they exchanged a few casual words before they each returned to their respective cave residences. Upon returning to his cave, Long Feng furiously circulated his inner energy to completely get rid of the effects of the fiery spring wine, becoming fully sober.
After that, he pondered for a while before stepping out again and approaching the huge corpse of the rock ape. Looking at it up close, Long Feng could notice the rock like texture of it's skin that was covered by its thick fur. Observing it, he noticed that the ape didn't die from some critical injuries or overly flashy wounds. Instead, it seemed to have been beaten to death using brute force. This caused him to click his tongue.
"What a monster!" He was naturally referring to Xiao Hu, the only person who could possibly beat such a huge ape to death using his raw strength. It wasn't called a rock ape for nothing. It's defense was at least a level higher than it's strength, making it near undefeated within the same level of strength. Unfortunately, it met Xiao Hu. Long Feng proceed to draw out a huge amount of scarlet blood from the ape, which was really just a portion of it's total blood.
Staring at the glob of blood floating before him, he traced his chin and glanced at the lifeless corpse.
"This is just ordinary blood. It's essence blood should be in its heart, but I don't think I'll withstand it yet even if I dilute it." He deduced. The essence blood was the core of the blood, very little in amount but possessing an extremely pure energy that surpassed the ordinary blood several times. All things considered, Long Feng couldn't absorb even a drop of the essence blood until his body reached the level of deities.
After he had seen what the body tempering was capable of with Xiao Hu, Long Feng was rather excited to know how far he could go. Just like his soul power, he would train his body randomly while keeping his cultivation as the main path. He returned to his cave and prepared a tub that was over half filled with water, then he dropped two fist sized globs of blood into the tub, instantly turning the water into a viscous red, like mercury.
After staring at it briefly, Long Feng decided to test it out before he would decide if it was sufficient or too much. Taking off his robes, he gently submerged his body into the tub till only his head was visible. A searing heat instantly filled every part of his skin before tearing into his flesh. Long Feng nearly circulated his energy to resist on instincts, only to pause at the last moment. If he resisted, he would be wasting a great deal of the blood's effects.
Besides, the pain was great but it came nowhere close to overwhelming him. He took a deep breath and loosened his entire body, allowing the heat to flow through every cell in his body, spreading like a wild fire. His body began to twitch barely seconds later, as every cell began to devour the copious amount of vitality in the blood. Long Feng's pain tolerance was extremely high, meaning that he was able to stay extremely clearheaded throughout the process.
Normally, a few globs of blood would be enough to peel the flesh off a peak Imperial's body, wracking them with pain beyond their endurance. But Long Feng's endurance was extremely high, such that the pain was completely suppressed a few minutes later.
"I can do more..." he muttered and controlled two more globs of blood to merge into the tub. The liquid instantly turned a shade darker as the heat rose dramatically, causing Long Feng's skin to turn red. His cells seemed to be on fire as the heat ruthlessly hammered them, forcing more of the blood's vitality into each and every cell. The pain was beginning to cloud Long Feng's mind, but...
"Still not... enough!" He gritted his teeth and made a bold move, controlling the entire huge glob of blood to merge in. This large glob of blood contained above five or six smaller globs, meaning Long Feng was absorbing about ten fist sized globs of blood! Any one watching would be shocked senseless. Was this still within the limits of an Imperial? Even some deities would hesitate before throwing in so much of the rock ape's blood due to the excruciating pain.
The feeling was anything but pleasant, similar to having each cell in your body being hammered continuously, forcing them out of shape and refining them countless times. Each hammering infused a strand of vitality into them, greatly strengthening each cell, and in respect, the entire body. Long Feng was finally sensing the near overwhelming pain, but he was still able to keep his consciousness to continuously direct the blood's vitality to strengthen the weaker parts of his body.
With each passing second, his body was growing by leaps and bounds.
"This... should be enough..." Long Feng struggled to mutter. Any more than this and he might fail to keep enough of his reasoning in check. He suddenly recalled something and pulled his arm out of the viscous liquid, opening his fist to reveal a three coloured pill resting above his palm. The three roots equisite pill, a peak mortal grade pill that could refine the body three times over and eliminate any impurity in his body.
This pill was rather special and one would normally need a huge amount of low grade essence stones to purchase it. After all, just it's ability to remove impurities was something countless deities would give anything to get. Without leaving room for thoughts, Long Feng threw the pill into his mouth and directly submerged himself under the liquid, including his head.
