A bright light shone suddenly in a sense forest, scaring nearby beasts away. When the light faded, a corpse like body was left on the floor. If it wasn't for the slow breathing and the faint heartbeat, one would think this person was dead. It was naturally no other than Long Feng. His body was surrounded by an extremely gentle blue glow, causing his shriveled body to strangely recover at a rapid speed. Blood rapidly formed in his body, fixing his deficit blood.
The injuries on his body, either from the tearing of his body or those he created by himself while he was in pain, they all healed slowly. Long Feng's blurry consciousness began to slowly awaken as a warm and gentle feeling suffused his mind. He felt like he was back at the Long clan, sitting with his father. That was the exact comfort he was feeling right now. As time passed, all but a few of his injuries were healed and his shriveled body has returned to being normal and healthy.
He also began to move randomly for a few minutes until he suddenly open his eyes widely. As he lay there, he stared up at the tall trees and their wide leaves that blocked the sky. He could see part of the sky through the spaces that weren't covered by the leaves. His confusion faded seconds later as the final memories he had flooded his mind at once. He rushed to his feet and looked around, startled to find himself in a forest.
There was no danger around at all, and he wasn't feeling the soul tearing pain nor the numbness from the inheritance ground. He looked down at his body and was shocked to find all of his injuries perfectly healed with no scars. A faint blue glow surrounded his body, causing him to be alarmed. He had no idea what was going on. What happened to that strange orb? Wasn't it trying to refine him? He remembered that he succeeded in reversing his spirit cyclone's revolution, trying to counter refine the orb.
Did he succeed? He couldn't sense the presence of the orb anywhere in his body, but this strange glow that surrounded him was extremely the same as the glow of the orb. What exactly happened while he was unconscious? He towards a large tree and sat underneath it's trunk to enable himself to think properly.
"That was a terrifying encounter. That pain of being refined..." he shivered.
"If I was given another chance to go there, I definitely won't even if I had ten times the courage. How exactly did I survive? Did my plan really work?" He sensed his cultivation and realized that nothing changed. He was still a rank two Imperial.
"Where is this glow coming from?" He pondered.
"Also... what happened to my spirit cyclone!" His eyes widened in alarm as he peered into his Dantian, frantically hoping nothing bad had happened to his cyclone. He had impulsively reversed it's rotation to save himself. It was entire a last means of survival, but he had no idea what the disadvantage of that would be. If anything bad happened to his spirit cyclone, then his cultivation itself would be affected. He sent his consciousness into his Dantian and found the spirit cyclone.
It was frozen in place once again and wasn't rotating, but it otherwise looked perfectly fine. There was no cracks, no hidden damages or anything. It was almost too good to be true.
"Wait a minute. I seem to recall that I absorbed an insane amount of that ominous aura. I devoured much more than my cultivation would allow. Where did all that go to? Also, if I did devour the orb, then where is it's energy as well?" He frowned and began to think deeply. Staring at the cyclone, he decided to spur it's rotation once more.
"I guess this is a perfect ending. Although I didn't gain anything, my experience has widened and I survived. That's everything." He smiled in relief, having no regrets in his heart. This book is hosted on another platform. Read the official version and support the author's work. With a thought, he made the cyclone to begin revolving normally. His body was currently devoid of any ounce of energy after the devouring force had devoured his own energy and much of his blood.
Thinking about it now, it was really a miracle that he was still alive. The Cyclone fluctuated unstably the moment it began to revolve. There seemed to be a massive weight pressing down on it, restricting it's movement. Frowning, Long Feng pushed harder. What happened next was beyond his wildest imaginations. A terrifying amount of blue energy burst out of the cyclone, emanating a transcendent aura that surpassed even the deity realm.
The cyclone began to tremble strenuously under the pressure of this energy as it flowed out and rushed into Long Feng's body before he could react. Extreme alarm filled his mind instantly. This energy was exactly the same as the energy of the strange orb! He had really succeeded in devouring it, but what he didn't expect was that the energy was sealed within the cyclone. It was far too much, which was why the cyclone had frozen completely. Now, he revolved the Cyclone externally.
Naturally, everything it has devoured would come rushing out! Remembering the sheer amount of energy he had absorbed even before he lost consciousness, Long Feng's heart shivered. Heavens knew just how much more he had absorbed during the time he was unconscious, as well as just how much energy the strange orb possessed. Refine! That was the only thought that filled his mind. He had to quickly refine the energy as much as he could before he exploded from having too much energy in his body!
Luckily, the consciousness of the orb appeared to have been completely erased. All that was left was extremely pure energy with an astonishing density. He rapidly refined the constant flow of energy that was beginning to overwhelm him and deposited it back into his spirit cyclone as his cultivation. This actually helped to stabilize the cyclone, otherwise it would collapse from the amount of energy it currently contained within it.
Long Feng was so busy refining the energy that he had no time to sense the changes in his cultivation. His aura rose frightenely to the peak of rank two Imperial realm. A few seconds later, a wave of energy burst out of his body and he broke through to the next level. Rank three Imperial realm... A few minutes later, he had another breakthrough. Rank four Imperial realm... Rank five Imperial realm... The energy of the orb finally began to decrease.
At the end, the blue energy of the orb finally ceased flowing out a few minutes later. As for his cultivation, it was at the peak of rank six Imperial realm! A sequence of four breakthroughs in the Imperial realm! This news would shake the entire outer peak if it ever got out. For normal disciples, each level usually took weeks and months to overcome, but what would take nearly a year for them to achieve, Long Feng just did in one sitting! Many imperials and even deities would be driven mad by this.
But Long Feng still couldn't relax and notice his cultivation. That was because this was far from over. Not to mention the enormous energy he had absorbed before, he had a feeling that this wasn't everything the strange orb had to offer. And he was right. His spirit cyclone was compressed to nearly half of it's size under an extraordinary presence that was leaking out of it. A small round ball, about half of a fist slowly floated out of the cyclone.
This ball was crystalline blue in color and it appeared to be formed from pure essence. This was easily the most powerful true essence Long Feng had ever sensed in his life. When it appeared, his cyclone was frozen once again from the pressure radiating off it. Naturally, the remaining energy within the cyclone were once again sealed for now. Long Feng's mind was completely entranced by the blue ball of energy.
He could sense a terrifying amount of energy within it, and if that energy was to flow into his body at once, he would explode before he could begin to refine it! That was just how dense the energy was. His breathing became rough as the ball released a wave of dreamy blue light that expanded out of his Dantian.
"What... is this thing?..." Long Feng's sight was suddenly replaced by a vast blue world. He was floating in the sky above an endless sea, and above him, the sky was entirely blue. This made the world to appear completely blue in color. A serene feeling permeated this world, soothing Long Feng's panic and causing him to subconsciously calm down without his knowledge. As he swept his gaze around this endless blue world, an old voice suddenly resonated through the entire world.
It was like the world itself was speaking in a solemn tone.
"Lucky young one who has inherited my Dao heart... I leave for you an opportunity. The Dao heart will reside within you, granting you control over stronger true essence and forming a Dao seed upon which you will form your own Dao heart eventually." Long Feng was extremely confused. Who was speaking? What Dao heart? What was general knowledge to everyone in the mainland was foreign to him. He didn't even know about the deity and Dao realms untill just a year ago. How was he supposed to know what a Dao heart was?
But from what this voice was saying, it should be a very important thing. Control over stronger true essence... that did sound tempting for any deity. Unfortunately, Long Feng was still an Imperial. He couldn't wield true essence just yet. As for what exactly the Dao heart was, he would have to figure that out later. The voice continued after a brief pause. This time, there was a slight emotion behind the voice.
"Whoever you are, you are now my successor. I am not very powerful, just an old man at the Dao realm who wants to make my own contribution to the sect that gave me everything. I hope you are a disciple of the Supreme Heaven Sect, and that you would remain loyal to the sect forever. My final gift to you is my enlightenment before I died. I destroyed all of the comprehensions I've had in my lifetime to avoid interfering with your own Dao. Instead, I give you an opportunity to deepen your own comprehension.
For the next incense stick worth of time, you will experience the enlightenment I reserved in my last moments. I hope you make the best of it. These are merely words I am sealing within my Dao heart's space before my death. I hope this insignificant act of mine will be enough to serve the sect better than I did." A long silence ensued after the voice stopped echoing. Long Feng simply floated there, digesting what he just heard.
This was an old Dao realm master who died long ago, the creator of the serene heaven mystic realm. And the main inheritance was this... Dao heart? Long Feng could sense the strong emotions this person had for the sect. Apparently, they gave him everything he had and he wanted to repay them in one way or the other. Since he couldn't do so during his lifetime, then he hoped his inheritance would be sufficient to repay the favour he owed to the sect. This kind of thought left Long Feng speechless.
One thing he couldn't deny was that the Dao heart's energy was of immense help to him. His cultivation had skyrocketed from rank two Imperial realm to peak of rank six, and he had barely absorbed part of the energy that leaked out. As for the remaining energy within the Dao heart, Long Feng could no longer absorb it. As for how the so called Dao heart would affect him, he didn't know. As he was pondering, the blue world faded into beautiful specks of crystalline light that vanished in the air.
Long Feng was still sitting cross legged beneath the tall tree. He hadn't moved an inch from his position and the Dao heart was still floating above his spirit cyclone. Long Feng took a deep breath and digested the information he just received, then finally noticed his cultivation. The difference was extremely shocking. The energy flowing through his veins was much stronger and compact than before. If there was a limit to the density of Imperial energy, then Long Feng could be considered to have hit that limit.
His energy was so dense that it could compare to that of a deity. In other words as long as an early stage deity didn't resort to true essence, then their energy was merely on par with that of Long Feng in power! Long Feng simply wasn't able to estimate just how strong he was. One thing was certain; the title of strongest Imperial would certainly belong to him in the sect. As for the deity realm... he would have to fight one to know.
While he was measuring his strength, a dreamy blue wave of light erupted out of the Dao heart and suddenly poured into his soul before he could react.
