Hong guang nodded respectfully and began to explain.
"This region is occupied by six clans. The Hong clan is among them. We allied ourselves to increase our overall power and protect ourselves against external threats, but we're still six different clans. The Hong clan is the third strongest among the six. Our clan chief is a rank eight Imperial realm master and our great elder is also a rank eight Imperial. The second strongest clan is the Li clan, and they have three rank eight Imperials among their ranks.
As for the leader of the alliance, that's the Ren clan, and their clan chief is a rank nine Imperial. Crimson Chen led the iron blood gang to attack two of the six clans, then he attacked the Li clan as well. Before the other clans could send reinforcement, they had already caused enough damage and left." Long Feng listened to Hong guang's explanation and understood the general details. The six clans only had a single peak Imperial. That was extremely weak in the Mainland.
It was no wonder that they were targeted by the iron blood gang.
"I understand. Apart from the supreme heaven sect, did the other nearby forces send any disciples?" He asked.
"Ah, yes. The Cao clan sent a few of their members. We don't know their exact numbers and their cultivation, but they shouldn't be weak. They're staying within the Ren clan. They are the only ones we know of." Hong guang replied. Long Feng nodded. The Cao clan would have definitely sent one or two peak Imperials among their group. And all of them had the same target; crimson Chen's head. A showdown was certain if they all met. Long Feng would need to rethink his moves and plan appropriately.
It was certainly impossible for him to win if he had to fight for crimson Chen's head against two supreme heaven sect's disciples and Cao clan's members. Just the two Supreme Heaven Sect's disciples were enough to make his chances less than twenty percent. After all, both of them were in the top hundred of the mortal ranking.
Anyone in the top hundred had the strength to at least escape from a weak deity; it was hard to tell if Long Feng could also do that, considering that a training puppet had beaten the hell out of him.
"So... what does young master think?" Hong guang asked nervously. The Hong clan having two supreme heaven sect's disciples was enough to rise their face and standing among the six clans. After all, the Cao clan couldn't compare to the supreme heaven sect at all. If they roped Long Feng in as well, then that would be enough to boast for the next hundred years. Long Feng's thoughts didn't last long. He glanced at Hong guang whose nervousness was written on his face then he nodded.
"Very well. I'll follow you to the Hong clan. My only condition is that the iron blood gang is found soon." Hong guang's face instantly brightened and he smiled excitedly.
"Sure! Thank you for accepting, Young master. We are already narrowing their hiding places. The iron blood gang won't be able to escape. We'll find them within a few days max. With the mighty strength of the three young masters, they will definitely have nowhere to hide." In his eyes, Long Feng was certainly a powerful Imperial as well, probably a rank nine Imperial like his fellow disciples if he dared to take this mission. He was simply hiding his cultivation.
That was the only explanation to his rather low cultivation. Hong guang was clearly excited. He randomly took out an ordinary jade and sent his perception into it for a few seconds before he put it away, then he ordered his group to return to the clan while he followed behind Long Feng, ready to respond to any questions he might have. Long Feng moved along as they flew over various swamps and lands for over an hour before they slowed down.
Even before they arrived, his soul power had already picked up on a sizeable city ahead which was clearly the base of a clan. When they got close, he could see different towering places made of gold and armoured guards patrolling the walls of the city. Hong guang led Long Feng to fly right above the city wall and the guards didn't move. Instead, they clasped their fists respectfully. Enjoying this book? "You must be a respectable figure in the Hong clan as well." Long Feng casually commented after seeing that. Hong guang smiled awkwardly.
"I am just an elder. Compared to young master, I am nothing at all." He replied. Long Feng didn't say anything in reply to that. Hong guang led him towards the center of the clan after he dispersed the others in his group. Several minutes later, they landed before a large palace and Hong guang gestured for Long Feng to step in and he followed behind him. Inside the palace sat several figures, all of them having at least similar cultivation to Hong guang.
At the end of the hall where the main seat was, a long bearded old man sat, emanating a rather powerful aura.
"That should be the Hong clan chief." Long Feng thought as his eyes swept around. Most of the men in the room were old or middle aged, except for two people who were clearly out of place. Both of them looked extremely young and they had an air of arrogance and disdain as they watched the old men in the hall. Their auras were also out of place, completely drowning the aura of the clan chief. Long Feng could tell instantly that these two were the disciples of the Supreme Heaven Sect.
They hadn't changed their robes like him, so he only needed a single glance to recognize them. Long Feng's entrance attracted the sharp gazes of all the figures. When Hong guang came in behind him, their gazes softened. The old man at the head of the hall stood up and laughed warmly.
"Hong guang, we received your message. I suppose this is the esteemed young friend?" Hong guang clasped his fist and nodded respectfully.
"That's right clan chief. This is the young master." He responded. Everyone began to scrutinize Long Feng with their eyes except for the two disciples. They merely glanced at him before withdrawing their gazes.
"Hahahaha! Welcome young friend. What do I call you?" the clan chief turned to Long Feng with a warm gaze.
"Long Feng." The latter calmly replied.
"Young friend Long Feng, it is such an honor to have you. On behalf of the entire Hong clan and the swamp clans alliance, I express my gratitude to you for heading over to help us deal with the iron blood gang." Long Feng smiled thinly and nodded, his gaze straying to the other two disciples. From the moment he came in, their auras already caused him to feel threatened. Both were absolutely top tier among peak Imperials. Even normal peak Imperials wouldn't last a dozen move against them.
The clan chief noticed that Long Feng's attention was somewhere else so he smiled and gestured.
"Please, come on in. We have prepared a seat for you. We were just about to discuss something important." Long Feng nodded and followed the old man to his seat. His eyes narrowed slightly when he saw that there were only two empty seats, and Hong guang sat on one of them. The only one left was beside the other two disciples. His face returned to being impassive after a split second. The clan chief returned to his seat while Long Feng calmly sat beside the other two disciples.
The three of them completely ignored each other and not even a glance was exchanged. The clan chief cleared his throat loudly and placed his palms together.
"Esteemed guests, words cannot express how grateful I am to all three of you. I am positive that with the three of you together, the evil acts of the iron blood gang will end very soon." When he noticed that his words didn't stir any reaction from the trio, he smiled without revealing any awkwardness and changed the topic.
"I have an even more important news to share. The iron blood gang's final hiding place has been revealed, and it was found by one of the members of the Cao clan staying in the Ren clan." His words caused the expressions of many elders in the hall to change and even the three supreme heaven sect disciples finally revealed different expressions. The clan chief continued.
"The news is reliable. Our spies in the Ren clan have revealed that the Ren clan is planning to attack the iron blood gang and wipe them out in two days under the lead of the Cao clan's members. We've also received a detailed description of the Cao clan members. Three peak Imperials as well as five rank eight Imperial realm geniuses, sent to destroy the iron blood gang. Combined with the clan chief of the Ren clan, Ren Hua, their overall strength appears to have surpassed ours."
A deep frown appeared on Long Feng's face as he listened to the Hong clan chief's words. Three peak Imperials and five rank eight Imperials... the Cao clan really took this seriously. Including the head of the Ren clan, they had a total of four peak Imperials. The Hong clan only had two, if Long Feng's actual cultivation was measured. The clan chief's gaze paused on the three youths.
"I thought the esteemed guests should know all these. The Hong clan is willing to follow your orders. You just need to tell us what to do." Long Feng glanced at the clan chief and realized something after some thought. The Hong clan had everything to gain and nothing to lose if the Ren clan actually succeeded in eliminating the iron blood gang. They simply needed to watch and let the Ren clan take care of everything. But if they recklessly joined the fray, then the opposite would be the case.
They would have everything to lose and nothing to gain. They could lose many of their members, and more scary was what would happen if crimson Chen somehow survived and escaped. His vengeance was something the entire six clans wouldn't be able to withstand. The rumors of him escaping from a deity wasn't just a rumor. It was absolutely true, and some details were actually emitted, such as him actually injuring the deity as well.
Even though the injury was slight, it put crimson Chen on an entirely different level compared to other peak Imperials. He could kill normal peak Imperials within three moves using a special advantage of his. No matter how tiny the possibility of him escaping was, it wasn't impossible. He must have a unique escape method that enabled him to flee from a deity. Who was to say that the method wouldn't work on a few peak Imperials? In reality, the clan chief no longer wanted to interfere.
On the other hand, the three of them were here on a mission. Each of them wanted to complete the mission to escape the punishment for failing a mission. That meant the three of them were already on opposing sides with each other. But if none of them completed the mission and instead let the Cao clan do it, then they would lose even more. The punishment could even become severe for losing the Sect's face before a mere Cao clan.
Either way, the three of them had to do something while the Hong clan could rest easy and watch the show. But they wouldn't be able to do that so long as the supreme heaven sect's disciples gave the order. This part of the eastern region was under the jurisdiction of the Supreme Heaven Sect; they were the heavens here. No force would dare to not give them face, not to mention that the Hong clan was extremely weak. One of these three disciples could destroy the entire clan by themselves.
The silence that descended in the hall made some elders feel uneasy. If Long Feng could figure out that joining the fray was a bad choice for the clan, then they could all figure out the same thing. But offending the supreme heaven sect's disciples... that was even worse. So they had no choice in this situation.
"Esteemed guests, the Hong clan awaits your orders." The clan chief urged once again.
