Chương 62: Chapter 61: Going on a Date with Shizuka

When I woke up the next day, I felt refreshed. It was a feeling I hadn't felt in a long time, and I quite liked the feeling. What made it better was the smell of food downstairs, as it seemed my mom was already awake to prepare breakfast. Since I missed my mom's food, I quickly went down to wait for breakfast. What I saw in the kitchen was an interesting sight, as Sophia was helping in the kitchen once again. At the dining room table was Shizuka, who had apparently already come over to visit.

I didn't mind this strange sight and quickly sat down in front of Shizuka across the dining room table.

"Your dad and sister already left for work," Shizuka explained.

"I see, then has everyone else woken up?"

"No, just Sophia. Everyone else is still sleeping softly in their rooms."

"Sleeping is fine, they need it. So, what have you come here for today? Is there anything you want to do in particular?"

"Not really, I just wanted to come and talk with you today."

"Okay, what do you want to talk about?"

"Do you remember the promise we had as children?" I started to dig through my memories, as it had been so long ago. My time on Earth had become very blurry after spending thousands of years in the other world.

"Is it about marrying each other when we grow up?"

"Yes, that's what I wanted you to remember. I've grown old now and have waited for you for a long time. So, what do you say about getting together?" I started feeling guilty, as I really made her wait for so long. Shizuka had spent decades waiting for me, and apparently she had been single her whole life just so she could be with me.

"I'm fine with that," I responded, not wanting to keep her waiting.

"Let's go over the specific details later, as I haven't even been back for a day."

"Fine, I'll wait just a little longer. It doesn't matter since I've already waited for so long, but you have to take me on a date today to make up for it."

"Where do you want to go?"

"Anywhere is fine, as long as I can spend the day with you."

"Let's just wander around then. I have nothing better to do today and want to see how much things have changed."

"Perfect, let's go after breakfast." I then talked with Shizuka about what she had been up to for these past twenty-two years, as I had missed much of her life. I was with her for the first sixteen years of our lives and did almost everything together. Now we felt a little like strangers from how long we've been apart, and I wanted to reconnect. The best way was to refamiliarize myself with her, as there was much to talk about. Soon breakfast was ready, and the table was filled with all kinds of foods.

My mom and Sophia began calling upstairs for all the girls to wake up for breakfast. Lucy, Maria, Claire, and Himari started to exit their rooms slightly groggy and came down to eat. The dining room table was now lively with everyone now here. The group talked about all kinds of things, as Sophia, Lucy, Maria, and Claire were still unfamiliar with this world and needed an explanation of how things worked around here.

Finally, once breakfast was finished, I began to head out with Shizuka to go on the date we agreed on. As we walked towards the door, we were interrupted by a question. The tale has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation.

"Where are you two going?" Sophia asked curiously.

"We're going to go on a date," Shizuka replied.

"What's a date?" Maria and Claire asked, now having curiously come over.

"It's where two romantically involved individuals spend time together," I replied.

"No fair, why don't you take us out on dates?" the three women asked.

"Me too!" Lucy chimed in, wanting to join in on the fun.

"No!" Shizuka replied.

"Today he is going on a date with me. If you want to go on a date with Ren, we can talk about it later, but today he is mine."

"Fine," the four women reluctantly backed away.

"You can have Ren for today, but we will have a date of our own once yours is over."

"Since that's decided, let's go," Shizuka stated, slightly annoyed. I followed close behind so as to not anger Shizuka anymore, as she was already angry.

"You are really popular with women, aren't you?" Shizuka fumed.

"When I didn't have my eyes on you, have you been collecting women?"

"Sorry," I replied, having nothing else to say.

"Let's go. I don't want something so simple to ruin today's date." Shizuka then took me somewhere, as I was no longer familiar with the surroundings. The first place she took me to was a very old park in the area. It was a special place, as it was where we had spent most of our childhood playing with each other.

"Do you remember this place?" Shizuka asked.

"How could I forget?" I replied.

"I will never forget when you tried to pretend to be a superstar and landed on your face when you tripped on a dance move."

"How could you still remember that?" Shizuka asked, trying to hide her embarrassment.

"Hurry up and forget it already. That isn't what you should remember about this place."

"Don't worry, I remember this place well as where we bonded as children. This place will always be a special place for us." Shizuka felt better after I confirmed to her that I still remembered the park. Since we were now adults, we couldn't play on any of the equipment anymore, but we walked around and reminisced on the fun times as children. Shizuka pointed to everything, wanting to see if I remembered what it was.

I replied as she wanted, as this park was indeed very memorable and one of the few things I still hadn't forgotten. After spending some time at the park, Shizuka took me to the mall to buy some new clothes, as all my clothes were now heavily outdated. I had to try on all kinds of outfits, as Shizuka was excited to play dress-up with me. In the end, we bought several outfits, and I even wore one of the ones she chose for me. It was a simple white t-shirt with a black loose-fitting jacket on the outside.

Along with that were normal black pants. Shizuka was quite excited seeing me in new clothes, as they were the ones she chose personally. She liked my new appearance, and she took several photos with her phone. We then walked around the mall and looked at all kinds of things as we window-shopped. Seeing Shizuka so happy was quite enjoyable for me. We then went to see movies, as I wasn't familiar with any of the current popular movies.

I was surprised by how far technology had come, as the movies were extremely well made compared to when I last saw one. After we finished, we finally went to a simple restaurant for food, as Shizuka was starting to get hungry. I didn't particularly need food anymore, as the higher your level, the longer you can store energy in your body. Still, food is a simple pleasure in life, and not needing it is not the same as not wanting it.

When fighting Trisha, I had no choice but to not eat, but now that it was no longer necessary, I wanted to eat regardless. Not to mention, I couldn't just keep Shizuka waiting, as she was hungry herself. We ordered some delicious choices on the menu, and our food soon arrived. It smelled amazing, and I took my first bite. It tasted just as I expected, but it was still very enjoyable. As we were eating, Shizuka started to have a conversation with me. It seemed she still had some questions regarding the future.

"What do you intend to do now that you are back?" Shizuka asked curiously.

"I doubt you'll just stay at home all day and freeload on your parents."

"I intend to start a business," I responded.

"With my magic and current power, making a successful business isn't hard. I'll just sell some of the rare materials I have on me and gain some initial capital before enacting my plan."

"What kind of business are you going to go into?"

"The food industry, as I want to open a simple dessert shop. I remember you liked sweets, so opening a dessert shop can let you try all kinds of new desserts I come up with."

"That sounds amazing. I'll definitely come by often and taste-test once you open."

"You are more than welcome to come, as you are now my girlfriend."

"So, you are finally admitting we are official? Then what about the other girls?"

"They are also important to me, but I have kept you waiting too long."

"I'm fine with them joining in after all they have been through with you, but I will be the main wife, okay?"

"You are okay with that? It's not exactly legal in this world."

"What's wrong with it? They are from another world and don't even need to follow the legal system in our world. Not to mention, they have risked their lives for you, and I feel bad just kicking them to the curb."

"Thank you so much, Shizuka. I will make sure to treat you well in the future."

"You better treat me well. I'm making a lot of concessions here."

"You are indeed the most important to me, my lady." We continued to joke around as we continued our meal. Soon the day passed by, and the sun was setting while we were still talking in the restaurant.

"We might have been here too long," Shizuka noted.

"We should hurry and leave."

"Alright, let's go, it's getting late anyway." We soon left the restaurant and began walking around to enjoy the sunset.

"How beautiful," Shizuka commented while looking at the sky.

"Don't worry, we will see plenty of views like this in the future." Shizuka nodded as we started to head home after a fun-filled day together.
