As I arrived back at headquarters, nothing had changed while I was gone, as everything looked the same. I then went back to my office to catch up on the current situation that had happened since my departure. Entering my office, I saw a woman sitting in my chair doing some interesting things. The woman had her legs up on the desk while trying to imitate me giving out orders. She was also wearing the outer layer of clothes I had left behind on my chair while playing pretend as me. This woman in front of me was Lucy.
As her eyes drifted towards me and processed the person standing there, she suddenly turned red with embarrassment. She quickly put her legs down and covered her face, attempting to hide. I then asked, "What are you doing?" Lucy replied, embarrassed, saying, "I can explain! As you were gone so long, someone had to take charge in your office. Since I was second in command, it was my responsibility.
As time passed and I settled in, I wanted to know what it felt like when you were the one doing it, so I tried to act how you would." Listening to her explanation gave me secondhand embarrassment, and the situation felt even more awkward. I then decided to leave the room and come back later, as the current situation was too strange. As Lucy saw me leaving, she stood up, intending to explain further, saying, "I didn't mean to make fun of you. I really just wanted to understand what you go through every day.
Anyway, now that you are back, how about we forget about this and get to business?" I sighed, knowing I might as well pretend I never saw it. I then asked, "What is the situation on the human and demon side?" Lucy explained, "This past year and a half, they have been relatively quiet, as they are still trying to build their forces. The information you gave us before is accurate, as these two forces refuse to make a decisive move before they are ready." I then said, "Then the situation is fine.
How has everyone been since I left?" Lucy replied, "Everyone has been training diligently and has become stronger. They are preparing nicely for the coming war." I then said, "Since that is the case, continue with the current pace of things. You can go back now and call Himari here, as I have something to say to her." Lucy, wanting to leave fast after the embarrassing situation, quickly replied, "I'll go call her now." Lucy then left to carry out my task.
I was calling for Himari for one reason, that it was time to go back to Earth. I had made significant progress in my strength, and trying to increase it further in just half a year would be quite difficult. So, instead of using the next half a year to train, I should use it to resolve a worry on my mind. If I don't go back now, I don't know when I'll be able to go back. With my current strength, I am no longer afraid of the humans and demons.
Once the war reaches a certain point, I will intervene and finally put an end to this war. Originally, I didn't want to end this war, as I didn't know the trump cards that both sides had and didn't want to make any rash decisions. Now, though, I have sufficient power and full knowledge of the secret powers of the humans and demons. Not to mention, the next war will be decisive, as both sides will come out in full force. If I take advantage of the situation when both sides have heavy losses, I can intervene.
Unauthorized use of content: if you find this story on Amazon, report the violation. Once I eliminate the top forces of both sides, I will take over and make a new kingdom that will exist peacefully. Though I don't know how realistic this is, I don't have a better option, as at this rate the two sides will fight forever, and the underlying problem will never be solved. It was fine until now, as I didn't have the means to change the situation, but now I want to change everything.
The problem is I don't know how long this war will last, nor do I know if becoming a kingdom will be possible, as I would need to get the recognition of the people left behind after getting rid of the top powers of both sides. The most important thing is administration, as it will take a long time to set a foundation for a kingdom, which could take a very lengthy amount of time. With all these problems in the future, if I don't go back to Earth now, who knows when I can go back.
If I push the opportunity away again, I might not even make it back in time before my parents grow old and die. I still have people waiting back on Earth to see, not to mention I really miss some of the things on Earth. As I was immersed in my thoughts, Himari finally came in. Himari asked, "I heard you were looking for me?" I replied, "Yes, I have decided to go back to Earth and will take you with me." Himari then asked, "Really? Are we going immediately or a little after?"
I then asked my own question, "Do you think your magic is strong enough for a round trip?" Himari replied, "In the time since you were gone, I have trained and have the world transfer skill high enough to make a round trip." I then asked, "Since you can do it now, what do you think about going after informing the others?" Himari replied, "I am ready to go at any time." I then said expectantly, "Then let's quickly inform the others and go on our way." The two of us then left my office to quickly gather the others.
After a day of waiting, as I couldn't interrupt the others while they were training, I finally gathered all the rooks as well as Lucy. I began, "I am going back to my home world for a while. I will try to come back within two days of Earth time, which is about two hundred days here, which is a little over half a year. While I'm gone, make sure to stay safe and watch over the situation while I'm gone." The girls were surprised by my announcement, as it was so sudden.
They then quickly accepted my words, as they had been with me for so long and understood that I wanted to go back badly. The girls then said, "We understand!" I then said, "That is all I have to say and you are dismissed, but Suzune, you stay behind, and I have something to ask you." The girls then dispersed after my instruction, leaving only me, Himari, and Suzune behind. Suzune then asked, "What do you need me for?"
I then asked back, "Since you are from Earth too, is there anything you want me to do for you while I'm over there?" Suzune was then surprised by the question, as she had long given up hope of going back to Earth. Now, though, she was being offered to have a request granted that was on Earth. Suzune said, "I have family back on Earth, though I'm not sure if my father even cares that I'm gone. Though I am worried about my mom, since she had always taken care of me despite having such a horrible husband.
I don't know if they still live in the same spot after all these years, but I just want you to pass on a letter to my mom for me." I then replied, "This is an easy thing to do. Are you sure you don't want anything else?" Suzune replied, "This is all I need from Earth. As for the rest, I can get it all here in this world." I then said, "Alright then, write the letter and give it to me as well as the address, and I'll be sure to take care of it."
Suzune then showed a smile on her face, as her long-time wish was going to be fulfilled. She then quickly left to write her letter. I then told Himari, "We will leave tomorrow, so go and prepare whatever you need to bring." Himari nodded and went back to prepare. I then went to prepare, as I was excited to finally go back. Though I had some unease, as over ten years had passed since I disappeared. It made me wonder how my family was doing now.
With that in mind, I spent the day in excitement, as I couldn't wait to go back. The next day soon arrived, and the girls gathered to see us off. Suzune also prepared the letter for me to take as well as the address. I then started to activate the world transfer magic, waving at the other girls, as they wouldn't see me for a while. The spell then fully activated, and as we were starting to disappear, the girls waved both Himari and me goodbye.
Soon we completely disappeared from Equilibrium headquarters, and in its place was the crushing portal tunnel that I was in when I first arrived. This brought me a feeling of nostalgia at the long-lost feeling. As I was reminiscing, a light suddenly appeared in front of us. When I opened my eyes, I saw the view around me, which was no longer the fantasy world. Replacing it were modern buildings that looked unfamiliar to me but were unmistakable as buildings in Japan.
Looking next to me was Himari, who was equally surprised by the sight. I then thought to myself, I'm finally back home.
