The first thing Akane said was, "From now on, dwarves are not allowed to go out and expand the territory. We will take a conservative approach and keep things how they are." This provoked the anger of the radical faction, but the conservative faction felt the situation was what they wanted. Since Akane was now the leader, the radical faction could do nothing about it. The situation may still be rocky right now, but given some time and some reforms, I believe Akane can calm down the radical faction.
Akane then announced something else: "Since we have some dissatisfaction, I will also announce something else. I shall open trade routes with the humans to bring in a fresh stream of materials. With my connection in the future, we will never run out." The dwarves were immediately intrigued by what their new ruler was proposing. Though this had been attempted before to no avail, Akane was different.
Akane was a half-dwarf who has lived among humans and dwarves; though she wasn't well-liked by either side, she technically belonged to both. If she tried hard enough, people believed she might have a chance to succeed. This announcement, though, had some negative views, as many doubted its legitimacy. Others decided to just watch, as it would be good if it happened, but nothing would change if it didn't. Akane then stepped down from the stage, as she was done with what she had to say.
Many watched her leave as she was now their new ruler. I left my seat as I followed her outside the stadium. We then regrouped at her apartment, as it was the only private area around. I first congratulated her on her victory and was curious about her plans from now on. Akane explained, "I will stay in the dwarven kingdom for a while and enact some new rules. In the meantime, can you help me procure some materials to trade for machinery? Dwarves love materials and will shut up once I show results."
I nodded, as I already intended to do so. I then left the dwarven kingdom after some more planning with Akane, as I had things to do now. Over the course of the next month, I had a lot to do as I constantly sent materials to the Dwarven Kingdom to open the trade route. In return, all kinds of machinery were added to the kingdom of Equality. Though we could make them ourselves, it would take too long and be very laborious.
Instead, with the current prices of buying machinery from dwarves, it was much more cost-effective. Not to mention, this will stop the dwarves from trying to expand, as they have more materials than they know what to do with. With the entire kingdom of Equality providing trading resources, it was simply too large of an amount for dwarves to complain about. As half a year went by, the dwarves had calmed down and were no longer making any trouble, and peace had returned.
After so much trouble, I wanted a break to rest, but there was never any time for anything, as after just a brief moment of peace, something started happening in the sky. The sky started to crack as a blinding light started to come down. Coming out of the crack was a muscular figure who seemed very imposing. After the figure fully came out of the crack in the sky, the sky repaired itself as if nothing happened. Stolen novel; please report.
The muscular figure then announced, "I am the god of war, Nox, and I have descended to claim the life of the one who dared to offend goddess Trisha. Quickly come forward and accept your death or face unimaginable pain and suffering." Listening to the announcement, I knew that the god of war was coming for me personally. It seems the goddess Trisha truly hates me to send a god down to hunt me down. Though, it made me wonder how powerful the goddess Trisha was to give orders to other gods.
I then took the opportunity to look at the god of war's stats, wondering if I could see them. I managed to see the stats and no longer felt confident, as the man was at level 4999, which meant he was a fallen god. Fallen gods are incredibly powerful, as they far outclassed apostles in terms of power. Just taking Selen as an example, she was so strong that I still can't land an attack on her to this day.
Having a fallen god come for me was simply the worst thing that could happen, as I didn't have the means to kill a fallen god. As I was wondering what to do, the god Nox was looking around for his target. Soon, through some means, he turned his attention in my direction and saw me. The moment we made eye contact, the god Nox flew at me with incredible speed. Knowing I wasn't going to get out of this, I started to try and run out of the kingdom to avoid destroying it.
The moment I reached the edge of the kingdom, the god Nox had caught up and was floating in front of me. The god of war, Nox, asked, "Are you the one who defies the will of the goddess Trisha?" I replied, "No, I'm not." The god Nox yelled, "How dare you lie to me. I saw you try and run away from me just now. I wanted to give you a chance to admit your sins and repent, but it seems I thought too much. I sacrificed my divinity to come to the mortal world and will fulfill my goal no matter what."
The god Nox then started forming a spear made of condensed energy and started attacking me with the intent to kill. The speed was incredible, but as I have been beaten down by Selen for so long, I managed to dodge it. Being able to dodge the attack of a fallen god made Nox surprised as he had missed. Using the chance from him being shocked, I tried to gain some more distance as I continued to run away from the kingdom. The time gained wasn't much, but I had no choice, as I couldn't defeat someone this strong.
After just a few moments, Nox snapped out of his daze from his bloated ego and started to give chase until he saw something coming towards him. I had gained some distance, but I was still in the blast radius, so I started to tunnel down into the ground. After burying myself a couple of feet, the nuclear bomb completely dropped and exploded. I had ordered Shiro to drop the bomb despite me being so close due to having no other choice.
If we didn't do this, then we wouldn't have another chance to do it again once I was beaten down by Nox. The result was I was slightly crushed by the force and suffered some injuries, but otherwise, I was decently fine. I quickly used healing magic to try and heal as much of my injuries as possible, as I knew a fallen god wouldn't die from a nuclear bomb. This was our last nuclear bomb, and we had no other surprise cards. I only hoped it could injure Nox somewhat before we engaged with him in battle.
After healing my wounds enough as the nuclear blast power was starting to fade, I went out. If I didn't take the initiative to move right now, Nox can come on top of me while I'm vulnerable and kill me. Once I gained some distance and started to heal my injuries again, I looked back at the aftermath. The smoke started to clear, and what was left was a figure standing inside, perfectly fine. Despite being hit directly by a nuclear bomb, the fallen god had taken no injuries.
This level of power was simply absurd, and I wondered how I was going to survive today. Once the smoke completely cleared, Nox started to look around for his target as he was distracted just now from how strong a nuclear bomb was despite not having magic or divine power. It didn't take long for him to find me, as I didn't manage to make it all that far. Nox then started rushing forward, intending to stop wasting time and kill me. At this point, I was completely out of cards to play.
A nuclear bomb did nothing to Nox, not to mention we didn't have anymore. Shiro can't fight as she is a mechanic and not a fighter. Sophia is for supporting and can't fight either. I wasn't that much better, as I was now injured. Even if I wasn't injured, I wouldn't have been able to do much against Nox anyway. As there was nothing I could do, I started to accept my fate, as there was no way other than to be killed. Suddenly, while I was about to give up, a figure stepped in front of me to block Nox's way.
The figure in front of me was Selen, which made me wonder what she was doing here.
