I then explained the situation to all the rooks present. The humans are planning to use the secret weapon they have been hiding. The demons too are starting to put in actual effort and have unleashed their ancestral demons. These forces on average have reached the power of level 2000s. The rooks who haven't learned about the situation yet were surprised to hear about recent events and the power of the two forces.
Shiro then asked, "If they are using level 2000s, what do you expect us to do in this situation as our average level is around level 500? I doubt we can help in this conflict with all these high levels." I then explained, "For now, we won't do anything. Instead, we will watch from the side until it is our turn to stabilize the situation and prevent either side from losing. My task for you all is to act when necessary to help whichever side is losing at the end of the conflict that is coming soon."
The group of rooks then calmed down as this task was doable compared to fighting beings at level 2000. I then said, "As the conflict will be happening soon, I have called you all back to prepare. Do what you need to bring yourself to as strong as you can get in the meantime. We will soon head out as the conflict can happen anytime now." Listening to my urgency, each of the women present thought of their own way to prepare.
After explaining a few more things to the women, I then dispersed the group so that they could do their own things until the time came. With all the rooks leaving, only me and Lucy were left. I then looked at her progress too, as I hadn't had a chance to look at her strength either. Seeing her system window, Lucy had gotten stronger too, as she had reached level 1156 with her illusion skill, which is her strongest skill, reaching level 90.
I then felt relieved, as with this level of strength she should be fine even if a level 2000 ancestral demon were to attack her, as she would have the means to run away. I then told her, "You can go about your business too, just stay with me when we reach the battlefield." Lucy, even after hearing that she was dismissed, still didn't leave, seemingly having something else on her mind. Lucy then worriedly asked, "Do you think we will be fine this time? I'm worried we might run into trouble this time."
Hearing her worries, I too didn't feel particularly good about this situation, but still, I assured her. I said in an enthusiastic tone, "Don't worry, I'm here with my level 3876 and magic skill reaching level 100. I'm sure we will come out fine." Lucy then showed a look of surprise at what she had just heard. She then asked, "What did you just say? You have reached god-tier magic at level 100?"
Forgetting that she can't see my skills, I then told her, "Yes, I have reached god-tier magic, so I'm powerful enough to protect us now." Lucy, still unable to contain her shock, asked, "When did you get it?" I then replied, "Recently, as I managed to learn world transfer magic. I could learn it probably because I used to be a hero." Lucy, hearing the explanation, found it reasonable and her worries somewhat disappeared as I was now someone who held a god-level skill.
Having her worries resolved, Lucy finally decided to leave to go prepare in her own way. Now being alone, I decided to train my other combat skills that can still be leveled up in the meantime, as currently leveling up EX magic would take too long and I haven't found a way to level up my swordsmanship to EX. A few days later, the situation finally happened. I was informed that the demons have attacked the Human Continent again.
This time, ancestral demons have also appeared on the scene, though currently they seem to be waiting for something. If you find this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the infringement. Having been waiting for this, I gathered the rooks again along with Lucy, and we set off for the Human Continent. After a day, we arrived on the battlefield, which was already fully at war once again as this time the demons have brought strong backing.
I then brought my team consisting of rooks and Lucy to a secluded vantage point waiting for our chance to intervene, and so we started watching the battle. Low-level demons were dying in droves as they were being used as cannon fodder. The ancestral demons were in the back at camp giving out orders to the soldiers. The situation was still stable and so this continued for several days. Finally, after so many days, the ancestral demons couldn't take it anymore at this slow tactic to fight against the humans.
The ancestral demons finally came out of their base to join the war personally. Among them included six people total, all above level 2000. After joining the war, the situation quickly became one-sided towards the demon side. Humans were dying in droves as none of them could fight against demons above level 2000. After massive casualties on the human side, it seemed the humans finally decided to act, and a beam of light shot down on all six ancestral demons.
This light was far more powerful than the one that killed the demon king. With a large flash of light and deafening noises, what was left was three of the ancestral demons had died, two were heavily injured, and one was slightly injured. This amount of power even surprised me, as this beam was strong enough to kill three demons above level 2000. The humans really had secret weapons that they hadn't shown in these thousand years I've been in this world.
No wonder humans have been able to keep the demons from taking over the Human Continent despite there being such high-level demons on the Demonic Continent. The ancestral demon who was only minorly injured then looked to see three of his allies had died and two were injured and got very angry. This demon then yelled towards where the light came from, saying, "How do you still have this weapon?
Back then, you used this weapon so many times, killing so many powerful people among my demonic race, that it probably crippled your resources! You shouldn't have been able to use it again after just over a thousand years! Though we have suffered heavy casualties, don't expect us to stop as this is not all of us, not to mention I guess you can't use this that many more times! Just give up already!"
Then an old, crackly voice then replied to the demon from the direction of the beam of light, "You think my human race will give in to you? You are dreaming then, as we the human race will defeat you hideous demons and enslave you people for daring to invade this continent! I'll say the same to you: give up now and we can treat your punishment slightly easier!" Listening to the arrogant old voice, the two heavily injured demons rushed at the direction of the voice, trying to kill whoever caused that beam of light.
Suddenly, an old man appeared out of nowhere from the direction of the beam of light. The old man cast high-level magic and killed the already injured ancestral demons. I then saw the old man for the first time. This man is someone I have never seen before on the human side, yet such a strong human existed without my knowledge. I then used my Outsider system to see his level. The old man surprisingly was also at a very high level, as he was level 1943.
Though not as high as the ancestral demons, he was the strongest human I have ever seen on the human side. This man must have used something to kill these ancestral demons. I then wonder if that beam of light was shot out at full force or if there was stronger. The remaining ancestral demon, seeing the situation take a turn for the worst, said, "I may have lost today but my demon race hasn't lost! We will be back soon to avenge those you killed today, and I will bring even stronger demons next time!"
After saying that, the ancestral demon left with the remaining demons who hadn't died yet. The humans, though for some reason, did not stop or chase after the demons, just letting them go. Then, after all the demons have left back towards the Demonic Continent, the old man suddenly coughed up blood and crumbled to the ground. I assumed using such magic took a heavy toll on this high-level human. Soon the human race too retreated, carrying the old man back to somewhere inside the Human Continent.
I, along with the other girls who saw the whole scene, were surprised to have it end so fast without us having to do anything. Though the conflict hasn't ended yet, so we decided to wait for the demons to come back. Though this gave us some extra time to prepare, which we didn't want to waste. After a long time of more waiting, two weeks had passed and a change finally occurred. The demons have come back again, and this time they brought forces much stronger than before.
It seemed these demons weren't playing around anymore. Among the demons present, I saw a demon so powerful that it surprised me. This demon I could only assume was the strongest demon in the Demonic Continent, as he had reached level 3421. This demon could even give me a fight that wouldn't be so easy. As the demons started their invasion again, I, with the girls in my team, once again stood on the side to watch.
