Chương 4: Chapter 3: The Hero Finds Out the Truth About Humans

The hero in front of me couldn't understand what I just said, and she had a look on her face that could only be described as confusion. From the information I got, this hero is very self-righteous. After hearing that monsters and demons are invading the continent, she wanted to help save the world. So, I understood the look on her face, as I, too, originally thought killing monsters would bring peace. So, the look on her face was understandable.

I then further explained, "The truth you know about the world is currently a lie. What you are doing now is not saving the world but making it more unstable. We are people in the shadows keeping this balance, and we are here to convince you to stop. Otherwise, we will have to use force." The woman, snapping out of her daze, looked at me in fury, yelling, "What do you know about the situation? How could you possibly know more than me, as I am the hero? I have to risk my life for the human continent.

Demons and monsters are invading us; how could not killing them possibly be good for humans?" I then said, "Then do you know why the demons and monsters are invading? Do you know what it's like on the demon continent? Then do you know what the motives of the people you are taking orders from are?" Upon hearing my questions, she suddenly quieted down, pondering these questions in her mind. Her face contorted as she couldn't think of the answer and tried harder to rack her brain for an answer.

Finally, the hero, after much thought, couldn't think of the answer and could only ask, "Then what are the answers to these questions?" I answered her due to her being a not-so-bad person, as she was actively fighting for what she believed was right, so I wanted to recruit her to the organization. So, I said, "The demons and monsters are invading due to the poor environment of the Demonic Continent.

Life there is hard as they struggle to get food and can only come to the mainland—that is the human continent—to gain more resources. The Demonic Continent, unlike what you are currently thinking, is not all filled with brainless, bloodthirsty monsters; that is only a part of them. A lot of them live in communities like humans, living the best they can to survive. Raising families, protecting themselves, and trying to find solutions to the current situation."

"Though I do have to admit, not all of them are kind and peaceful. There are indeed demons and monsters who are bloodthirsty and cruel, but the humans are no better. If you reach the end of your journey, then you'll find out the truth of this world. The humans aren't in the right, nor are the demons, and it's best just to stay out of it." There was some hesitation on her face as this was hard to believe, so the hero said, "Do you have proof of what you said?

Otherwise, what difference is there, and what you say is nonsense." Expecting this, I could only take a more drastic measure and reveal my identity. I don't usually do this as it would be annoying to erase the memory of the person I tell it to. There are only rare instances that I reveal my identity to people I really want to recruit. This new hero is self-righteous and motivated to get stronger. In the future, she will become a great power in the organization.

This was how I had recruited most of the organization until now. So, I took off my disguise and showed something only a hero could understand: a face from Earth. My face so far has no one identical to it in this world. Everyone in this world seemed to not be Asian, and the only times Asians exist is either they are heroes or their descendants if they chose to stay in this world. Though the hero descendants are always half-Japanese or even less if the hero was of mixed race.

So, it's easy to tell if someone is actually from Earth. The story has been stolen; if detected on Amazon, report the violation. So, I showed my face and introduced myself: "I am Ren Amaya, and I'm from Earth too. You can find me in the archives of heroes as the first hero. It should be easy for you to find my identity if you haven't already." The hero at this moment had a changed face as it turned to a face of shock and recognition. The hero seemed to know who I was and then said, "You are the first hero!

I saw you and your picture in the royal library of the Trist Empire. You have a title: the Treasonous Demon Hero. You sided with the Demonic Continent a thousand years ago and stopped the humans from ending the war. You are a traitor to the human race. Do you really expect me to trust a traitor like you?" As she said that, she raised her sword and prepared to attack.

I half-expected her to act like this as I indeed did help the demons publicly a thousand years ago to stop humans from enslaving innocents in the Demonic Continent. Though, I thought she would feel some kinship as we were both from Earth. So, I tried to calm her down by saying, "Trust me for the time being and I'll show you evidence, so calm down." Before I could continue, she lunged at me, attacking with her sword. As she was closing in, she said, "I will hear your explanations after I capture all of you.

If you turn out to be real villains and I let you go, I would never forgive myself. If it's true as you said, then I'll let you go." I was very annoyed that she wouldn't listen to my explanations, though I was somewhat satisfied as she was so loyal to her convictions. If I could get her to join, she would never betray us. So, I decided to fight her first and explain later. I then raised my hand, not even bothering to draw my sword. The current power of the hero was still pitiful.

This was a level that couldn't even defeat me when I just became an S-rank adventurer. There was no need to even use my weapon. As I saw her move towards me, my speed was so fast that she was practically in slow motion. As she closed in and finally swung, I caught the sword with two fingers. The hero, surprised to see this, continued to put more power in, trying to break free. To her dismay, the sword wouldn't even budge.

Finally, she let go of the sword and decided to cast magic, and the surrounding environments started to freeze. This frost spread towards me, trying to freeze me solid. I countered by using my own magic to create a wall of fire in front of me, instantly melting the ice. I decided it was now my turn to make a move, so I jumped towards the hero and punched her in the stomach. This punch I restrained so that it would only knock her out. As she crumbled to the ground, she lost consciousness and laid down quietly.

I then turned to my group that came with me. It was a small group: just Sophia, Lucy the Demon King, and Suzune Inui, the four-ranked rook. I then gave out my orders: "Suzune, continue to monitor the human kingdoms. Sophia, you go with Suzune and help her; in the meantime, you can look around your home kingdom, Trist. Lucy, you come with me and show the hero the truth of this world." They all understood the order and nodded. Sophia then said, "Thank you.

I wanted to go back for a while now but didn't have the opportunity to. I wonder what the Trist Kingdom is like now." I then said, "It's not a problem; now go and do your tasks." Then the group dispersed, leaving only the three of us. I intended to bring the hero to the Demon Continent to see the truth of the world. Once she sees it, she should understand why she shouldn't help the humans. So, I directed Lucy to follow along and we set off to the Demon continent.

Arriving at the Demon continent, not much has changed since I last saw this place a few decades ago. It was still barren of resources; trees were scarce, animals were barely around. There was simply nothing worth mentioning other than the strong demons on the continent that could be used as manpower. This was the human's goal: to enslave the demons for their strength. I then walked towards the nearest village as Lucy looked around at her former home; she hasn't been to it in a while.

This was her home, and she felt quite comfortable to be back. It was not every day she could come back here since she left the Demon continent to fend for themselves. We then arrived at the outskirts of a village and then tried to wake up the hero. Soon she woke up to find her surroundings had changed and she didn't know where she was. She then asked, "Where have you taken me?"

I then said, "The barren place you see before you is the Demonic Continent that you are trying to fight against, and the civilization before you is a village on the Demonic Continent."
