Chương 58: Volume 2 - Chapter 19 - Magic Baptism (Part lll)

After Teacher Klaus's announcement, the Cathedral fell silent for a moment, before Priest, wearing Holy Robe, stood in front of the Goddess statue and began to chant hymns and prayers for Magic Baptism 「𖤐 ᛚᚢᛗᛁᚾᚨ ᛞᛖᚨ ᚨᛊᛏᚱᚨ ᛖᛏᛖᚱᚾᚨ 𖤐」 (Lumina Dea Astra Eterna, Kyr Lumeria Sol Aeter Vael) 「ᚲᛁᚱ ᛚᚢᛗᛖᚱᛁᚨ ᛊᛟᛚ ᚨᛖᛏᛖᚱ ᚹᚨᛖᛚ」 (Luna Noctis Veir Astra Crest, Astra Univers Elion Tharos) 「ᛚᚢᚾᚨ ᚾᛟᚲᛏᛁᛊ ᚹᛖᛁᚱ ᚨᛊᛏᚱᚨ ᚲᚱᛖᛊᛏ」(Tharos Mana Lumina Eter, Vael Ether Arc Nox Abyss) 「ᚨᛊᛏᚱᚨ ᚢᚾᛁᚹᛖᚱᛊ ᛖᛚᛁᛟᚾ ᚦᚨᚱᛟᛊ」 (Eldric Soul Acra Vel Mana, Seraph Kyr Lumeria Vael Divin 「ᚦᚨᚱᛟᛊ ᛗᚨᚾᚨ ᛚᚢᛗᛁᚾᚨ ᛖᛏᛖᚱ」 (Crest Astra Sol Luna Univers, Goddess of Light Kyr Eterna)... As the hymns were sung, comple multi-layered magic circles rose up from the ground one after another, containing various ancient runes, divine symbols, and geometric formations that overlapped across dozens of layers. Silver, gold, and pale blue radiance flowed through the engraved lines, illuminating the entire cathedral with a sacred brilliance. Some circles rotated slowly clockwise while others revolved in the opposite direction, creating a breathtaking sight resembling a miniature galaxy unfolding beneath everyone's feet. At the same time, the gigantic statue of the Goddess of Light standing at the center of the cathedral released an overwhelming holy light which poured down everyone present, bathing the entire plaza in warm golden radiance." Is this Magic Baptism..." I unconsciously muttered while staring at the magnificent scene before me. Before, I had only read about it in books but now I personally experienced it. I have to admit that the Magic Baptism was far more grand than I expected it to. The complex Magic circles alone were something that ordinary people could never master in their lifetime. From the moment the Priests began singing, I could feel the elemental spirits surrounding the cathedral suddenly became incomparably active, happily circling around me like children celebrating a festival. Waves of pure Magic Power continuously flowed into my body from all directions. Something inside me seems to be awakening and the shackles that bound my Magic and Martial Arts were gradually disappearing. System prompts constantly refreshed, showing how fast the process truly was. [Magic Power +1 +1 +1 +1...] [Strength +1 +1 +1 +1...] [Agility +1 +1 +1 +1...] [Stamina +1 +1 +1 +1...] Feeling the changes in myself, I curiously observed the others. I saw the more than ten students including Shinika, were all covered in holy light, their expression peaceful and smiling, with a state similar to my own. Their Magic Power was also increasing rapidly. From the looks of it they are also about to awaken their talent and breakthrough to Second Order. If you encounter this story on Amazon, note that it's taken without permission from the author. Report it. The chants of the priests continued to echo throughout the cathedral like voices from ancient times and time passed slowly. At a certain moment, something inside me seems to break. [Magic (First Order) → Magic (Second Order)] [Martial Arts (First Order) → Martial Arts (Second Order)] [Talent Awakened → Spirit Contract (???)] [Spirit Contract: Spirit Contract is a rare soul-type talent that allows the user to form spiritual bonds with other individuals. Once a contract is established, both parties become partially connected through mana and soul, allowing them to share a portion of each other's power and potential. Through the contract, each side permanently receives approximately 10% of the other party's talent and Magic potential, along with 5% of their current strength and magic power. The stronger and more talented the contracted individual is, the greater the benefits become. Because the enhancement is mutual, Spirit Contracts are considered equal bonds rather than master-servant relationships. In moments of extreme danger, either party can temporarily borrow the full strength and magic power of the other through soul resonance, greatly increasing their combat ability for a short period of time. However, Spirit Contracts require extremely high compatibility between souls, and forcing a contract may result in severe spiritual backlash. Note: The number of Contracted individuals is limited to twice that of the current Magic Rank.]"Spirit Contract, is this my talent. 10% permanent boost to talent and 5% permanent boost to strength. That's quite a good talent. But can I really use it..." Looking at the words on the system panel, I couldn't help click my tongue. This kind of talent, shouldn't it belong to the protagonist of a harem genre or something. He can contract all the heroines and reach the top of the world with this ability. How did I, a villain manage to awaken such an ability which sounds like a Protagonist cheat? It's a pity though, it has restrictions and limit. Otherwise, I may have been able to slap the face of my father soon and rub him to the ground. But this makes more sense. Otherwise this ability will truly be too broken. It's time to check my current status. I pulled up my profile to see what changes had taken place in me. [Name: Robert von Anglus (???) Species: Human(???) Martial Arts Rank: 1 (95/2000 EXP) Magic Rank: 1(205/2000 EXP) Age: 12 Strength: 73. 54371 → 103. 54371 Stamina: 70. 75894 → 100. 75894 Intelligence: 85. 86590 → 120. 86590 Agility: 74. 86643 → 104. 86643 Magic Power: 71. 67426 → 110. 67426 (Note - Avg. value of an adult human is 10) Skills: Swordsmanship (D), Martial Arts (F→E) Rapid Regeneration(E→D), Minor Physical Resistance(E→D), Minor Magic Resistance(E→D) Magic: Fire Release (Low level), Hellfire (low level), Fire Ball (low level), Light Purification (low level), Heal (low level), Light Arrow (low level), Thunderbolt(low level),...] [System Notice: System under update Update time 15 days] Hm, not only all the attributes have increased by at least 30 but Magic Power even overtook all other attributes except Intelligence. From one of the weakest, it became one of the strongest. My skills have also been upgraded. Is it because of this Magic Baptism? My lips curled up into a smile and I wondered what my current strength was like." Congratulations on being promoted to Second Order, Robert. Would you like to spar later?" Shinika's voice came from my left side." Congratulations to you too, Shinika. And forget about sparring. I am not in the mood." Since we can't avoid her, it's better to respond to her and avoid creating any more misunderstandings and rumours. Looking at the black haired girl, I couldn't help but sigh in my heart. Although I really need a sparring partner, it's better to avoid having a relationship with the heroines, lest it lead to complications. At the same time, I silently observed her condition. Compared to before the Magic Baptism, Shinika's aura had clearly become much stronger. Although she was suppressing it subconsciously, I could still feel traces of pressure leaking from her body. Under the cathedral's holy light, her originally pale skin now carried a faint crystal-like luster. This was one of the signs of a Second Order Martial Artist. After Martial Artist complete their Magic Baptism, their skin, muscles, bones, and internal organs would all undergo qualitative strengthening. Ordinary swords would already have difficulty seriously injuring a Second Order Martial Artist unless Magic Power was infused into the weapon. As expected of one of the heroines in the novel. If I didn't have the System, I probably wouldn't have been able to match her in the slightest no matter how hard I worked." If you're not in the mood then I will wait for you till you're in the mood. Let's have a match in the next training class." Shinika said with sincere eyes." That, we will see at that time..." I didn't dare to meet her eyes. I really didn't want to fight her....
