Chương 48: Volume 2: Chapter 9 - Fast and Furious

From that moment on, based on my classmates' attitudes towards me, they were mainly divided into two factions. One faction wanted nothing to do with me; they didn't approach me, didn't look at me, acted as if I didn't exist, fearing they might anger me. It was understandable that this world would make people fear class differences. And then there was the other kind…

"Robert, do you remember me? My name is Andre Goodchild." During the break, while most people were gathered around Princess Yumina, only three boys came up to me at the back, smiling. These were the villainous noble types who thought I was one of them and came to fawn over me and cling to my coattails. If I had enthusiastically agreed with them and accepted their olive branch of "friendship," a group of delinquent youths, feared by no one in the school, might have been formed. So I…

"Get lost. I'm in a bad mood. Don't bother me." I mercilessly refused to associate with them. Are you kidding me? I already despise these scumbag nobles. If I were to actually accept them as my lackeys, then I would truly be inseparable from the villainous nobles. It would be better to be a "lone wolf" in Class A than to become like that.

"S-sorry…" Andre and his group wisely kept their distance from me. I watched Princess Yumina, who was surrounded by people, chatting and laughing, truly embodying the meaning of "approachable." If this world followed its usual logic, as a child of the Marquis Family, I should definitely build a good relationship with the country's First Princess. But things had developed to this point, and it truly wasn't an atmosphere where I could approach her.

Although I had previously decided on a policy of avoiding the heroines as much as possible, I at least didn't want to leave a terrible impression on them, otherwise, it could very likely have an adverse effect on my future fate. "Sigh—" I silently sighed, unable to think of a good solution. The first day of school life passed just like that. …

"That's all for today's class. Lastly, I would like to remind you'll again about the Baptism. The school will arrange Baptism for students who have reached the peak of Rank 1, at the end of this month. So, those who require Baptism, please submit an application to the Academic office."

"Okay then, be careful on your way back. I will see you guys in tomorrow's class." Teacher Tim said this and then left the classroom, signaling the end of today's lessons. But his last words clearly invited gossip because Baptism was a very anticipated part of the first year as only through Baptism, would the true Magic Talent awaken and unleash the true potential of the body. I was also deeply interested in the Baptism. So naturally, I wanted to go the Academic to apply.

But I had to wait for the school to end first. My feets were jumping up and down, making me almost unable to wait. Fortunately, School ended particularly early; it felt like it was only around 2 PM. Indeed, schools in other worlds are completely different from modern schools. Next was free time. It was time to dash to Academic office! Whoosh! With a step, I appeared next to the door and ran straight for the Academic office.

"Waah~ Who used Wind Magic?"

"Who blew up my skirt?"

"Why is wind blowing so fast?" Along the way, many girls skirts were blown up, providing a feast for the lucky boys who saw them. Some even let out nosebleeds. Bang! I stopped at the Academic office door. There was no crowd at the door which made me breathe a sigh of relief.. As someone who had experienced long rows in college. I absolutely didn't wish to endure it again.

"Student, are you here to register for Baptism? You do not have to be in such a hurry. Please calm down first."

"Teacher, please give me the application form. I will fill it up."

"Oh okay!"

"Hm... Father, mother, family,... Magic Potential, Rank... Teacher, what do we fill in this box."

"Oh, that's asking you to..." Surprisingly, the teacher was quite gentle, unlike ordinary nobles and she help me through the things that I didn't understand.

"All done. Thank you for your help teacher."

"Have a good day student. The school will send someone to inform you on the day of your Baptism." Next, I was free. Since there was nothing else to do, I decided to go see Sister Aisha. She told me about her class before, it was Third Year class B. But when I went over, the class was empty. Upon asking, I learned that the entire third year batch went on External Field Trip and won't be back until next semester. It seems I can only go back and practice my swordsmanship and learn magic. Oh, right.

I suddenly thought about Toke. He was assigned to D Class. I wonder how he's getting along with the other noble classmates. It would be great if he could make some honest noble friends like himself. Alright, I'll stop by to see him on the way back. Which direction was D Class in again?
