Chương 28: The First Step (Part ll)

(Bahod's Perspective)"What an interesting report? The coincidence of such a thing is so low that it is impossible! Robert, Yuuki gave me a big surprise!" Reading the report from the leader of the guards, I couldn't help but feel surprised. Turning an entire forest into an Ice Zone isn't something that an ordinary Mage can do. It, at least needs to be someone above the 5th Order. But most of the Seventh Order and above Mages are either a part of the Royal Magic Guards or the St. Freya Academy.

Remaining few are either at the border or in the Royal Academy. So then question worth asking is... Where did this world Seventh Order appear? And why show up when Robert was in trouble?

"Is it related to Robert? I guess we have to test it!"

"That matter about 10, 000 gold coins, it should be the easiest one to probe!" I had some expectations in my heart. If Robert was really related a Mage above Seventh Order during this kidnapping incident then even if this kidnapping was ignored, it wouldn't matter much. Unfortunately, my expectations were dashed. Robert clearly didn't realise that the sum of 10, 000 gold coins I asked for, was something I never paid as a ransom.

This meant he knew nothing about the later incidents and it also meant he didn't come into contact with the Mage who created that Spectacle.

"Sigh! What a good for nothing?" Since you have accepted the debt of 10, 000 gold coins, you better pay it later, my dear son....... A few days later,"You want to learn swordsmanship?" Robert, who seemed to have almost fully recovered, knocked on my door and entered my room. His first words were completely unexpected.

"Yes, Father." I pressed my forehead; it seemed I hadn't misheard because I was too tired.

"Ridiculous! How could you think of doing something so pointless? Letting you in was a waste of my time."

"It's not meaningless, Father. In order to prevent such a disgrace to the family from happening again, I feel it is necessary to train myself."

"Don't you think the root cause of what happened wasn't that someone put a magic sealing collar on you, but simply because you're stupid?"

"Of course, I will improve in this area, but I think having skills that are beyond ordinary people can effectively increase the probability of turning danger into safety in the future. No one can predict what will happen in the future." Reading on this site? This novel is published elsewhere. Support the author by seeking out the original.

"So you want me to pay for any unforeseen events that might happen in the future? What a joke." Although I don't know what he's thinking, it's not worth my going to all this trouble to arrange things for him. Has he become stupid because of the blows he received from reality? I was already annoyed by the previous matter. So I decided to ignore him.

"If there's nothing else, you can go now. I still have work to do." I intended to focus on my work, but after a while I still didn't hear Robert's footsteps leaving. At that moment, Robert took a deep breath.

"Father, it seems you've misunderstood something?"

"What?" I stopped writing.

"I am not here today to make a request of you, but to make a deal."

"Trade?" What is this kid talking about? What bargaining chips does he have to make a deal with me?

"10, 000 gold coins..." Robert held up one finger.

"Father believes I am worth 10, 000 gold coins in the future, so how about adding another 10, 000? I will use this 10, 000 gold coins to exchange for a swordsmanship teacher, which means that I will have to repay Father 20, 000 gold coins or something of equivalent value in the future."

"What an arrogant tone. Do you even have the right to inflate your own worth?"

"It should be a very worthwhile deal for Father as well. Just writing a letter to hire a swordsmanship teacher could potentially earn you 10, 000 gold coins. Even if I break the contract, you won't suffer any loss. Is there any investment that is more profitable than this?" Indeed, the incredibly tempting reward instantly swayed my earlier thoughts. I stared intently into Robert's eyes. A bluff? Unlikely. But the idea that he could obtain 20, 000 gold coins seems unrealistic.

Could he really have some unimaginable method to make him so confident? However, I still don't understand why they are so insistent on learning swordsmanship. It's not only arduous but also inefficient. Spending more time learning magic is clearly more meaningful for enhancing his strength. Well, considering his courage, it's not unreasonable to do him a favor. After all. I didn't pay that ransom before.

"Go back and wait for news."

"Take care, Father." After Robert left the room, I took another sheet of white paper and spread it out on the table. Since the Anglus family has no tradition of martial arts, and none of my acquaintances are skilled in swordsmanship, finding a teacher with a title in the Knights should suffice. No, given this rare opportunity, we might as well hire the one with the highest entry requirements. Even I have to be wary of the other party's identity, so the possibility of being rejected is actually quite high.

However, if I can successfully establish a good relationship with them, it would be extremely beneficial for the future of the Anglus family. Without hesitation, and with unrealistic ideas in mind, I began to write an invitation letter to that regimental commander.... I have never experienced this feeling before? Is it because my strength increased too much suddenly that I experienced this? It's truly strange....
