Chương 46: Volume 2: Chapter 7 - Inescapable Fate of a Villain (Part l)

On the morning of the first day of school, I arrived at the door of Class A, mentally prepared, and gently pushed the door open. But no matter how much I wanted to avoid making a sound, opening the door and entering the classroom alone was bound to attract the attention of those inside. The dozen or so new students who had arrived earlier than me all turned their gazes towards me.

"He's here."

"He's that despicable Robert."

"He actually got placed in Class A."

"You've got to be kidding." What's worse, because of my eye-catching performance in the entrance exam, probably everyone in the classroom remembered me. I observed my surroundings and accidentally met Princess Yumina's gaze. Judging by her expression, she clearly didn't have a good impression of me either. It seems that the good fortune of being unconditionally loved by the heroines after reincarnating in another world won't happen to me.

I tried my best to maintain my composure, ignoring the gazes of others, and found a seat in the very back, most secluded corner of the classroom and sat down. I wanted to ask if this was a joke, but I had already anticipated such reactions from others before entering the classroom. There were two reasons I could think of. One, the teachers recognised my talent and the school didn't care about the impact from rumours.

Two, the school gave green light because I am the son of Great Marquis Bahod despite the large rumours. What busybodies. In this situation, it's better to remain silent; even if I did nothing, actively trying to explain would only make me seem more suspicious. Besides, I do not care about these people at all because I have long since been used to being alone. Watching anime alone, reading manga alone, writing in dead nights alone. No one was with me during those times.

After coming to this, I was even lonelier but I had Volth to help me. Once, I thought he would be a good friend but what a pity...... Soon after, all the new students assigned to Class A arrived and found their respective seats. Since there were enough seats in the classroom, even with over 30 students, there were still some empty spots. And, as expected, no one sat in the seats near me, as if... no, they were definitely deliberately avoiding me.

From an outsider's perspective, my presence became even more conspicuous. Unlawfully taken from Royal Road, this story should be reported if seen on Amazon. Subsequently, a middle-aged man who appeared to be a teacher entered the classroom, immediately noticing the anomaly near me, but he showed no reaction and walked directly to the podium.

"Good morning, students. First, I welcome you to the historic Imperial Capital Magic School. You are all the most outstanding students in the entrance examination, and you can be proud of yourselves."

"Let me introduce myself first. My name is Tim Mac Enroe, and I will be the main teacher for Class A for the first year. You can call me Teacher Tim."

"Since you are new here and may not be familiar with each other, and you will be studying together for three years from now on, let's have each of you briefly introduce yourselves to get to know each other. Let's start with the student on the far left." Self-introductions are a fixed event that happens not only in other worlds but also in schools in the real world. My self-introduction is the clearest memory I have; what did I say back then?

It was probably just an ordinary self-introduction, no surprises, no excitement. However, the nature of a self-introduction at a Royal School in another world is definitely different. This self-introduction is essentially for revealing one's family name, which everyone understands at a glance. And because I sat in the very corner, I would probably be the last one to introduce myself, whether that's fortunate or not.

"My name is Guy Anfleres..."

"My name is Charles..." Unfortunately, I didn't recognize most of the students' family names, so I didn't know what noble rank their families held. The novel only focused on the family backgrounds of a few heroines; other nobles never appeared in the plot. Or perhaps they did appear but I didn't remember them; who remembers mere NPCs in a novel? Moreover, after coming to this world, I haven't had the opportunity to participate in noble social events.

Since that incident, Marquis Bahod has not allowed me to show my face in public, so I lost the chance to get to know various noble families. Therefore, even if the students of Class A announced their full names, it meant nothing to me. However, occasionally, people from quite high-ranking families would be recognized by others, causing a small commotion. When I saw such reactions, I would think to myself: 'Huh? Is that family famous? I'll remember it for now.'

This kind of casual attitude was probably unique to me in the entire classroom.

"My name is Andre Goodcheldo. It's a pleasure to meet everyone. Please take care of me." At this moment, the boy named Andre caught my attention. Although it's a bit strange coming from me, an evil noble, his tone of voice and demeanor were exactly like the evil nobles in my impression, the typical 'I'm the best, I'm the greatest, you can't do anything to me' arrogant noble face. One could say he was the same as Robert in the novel.

Speaking of which, I remember Robert in the novel did have a few followers, didn't he? Although I forgot their names, he's probably one of them.

"Goodcheldo."

"I think they're that famous Count family." I heard the whispers of nearby students. It seems to be another famous local noble family I don't know about. This is not good. Could it be that in this class, besides Princess Yumina, I am the student with the highest family rank? I can understand that there are only a few Ducal Families in the School this year and none of their children are enrolling, but I hadn't anticipated that new students from Marquis families would also be rare in Class A.

Shinika is the daughter of a Marquis family, so why was she assigned to Class B? Are the teachers at this school okay? Regardless of my doubts, the self-introductions continued smoothly until the important figure, the focus of the entire class, stood up. I seemed to hear many people holding their breath.
