After Helen settled down, we left her to allow her to eat a meal for the first time in 2 months. While we were outside of the room, the girls and I decided to head to Warrick and Aqua's room to see what they wanted to tell us. Along the way, a predictable conversation popped up, the one to start it was Cynthia." Hey, hey! Did anyone else notice that Al seemed to get really shy around Helen?" The flood gates were opened." Yes!" Sarah agreed immediately." It was so noticeable!" Sharon agreed as well."

It's ironic that she's searching for something right by her side. In a way, I feel bad for Prince Alex. Even with Matthew's not so subtle hint, she still didn't understand his feelings. In fact, I'm reminded of someone I know to the point of irritation." Asha had some thoughts as well. Wait! Why are you staring at me!? I recognized that Sarah and Anna liked me!" I hope someday they can close the gap and get together." Anna said, full of hope for their relationship."

Maybe, I should try playing Cupid when I get the chance?" I mumbled out loud. This got everyone's attention." What's "Playing Cupid" mean John?" Sarah asked very curiously.

"Hm? Oh right, different world. Cupid is a God from an ancient mythology from my world. He was a God of love and desire. Back in my world, if you helped a couple get together. One of the phrases people would say is that you were" Playing Cupid" for the couple."" Oh, he sounds like Euphie! She's the main Goddess that watches over love in most of the Religions of Gaia." Sharon spoke to me. I was interested in what she said.

"What do you mean" Most Religions", Sharon? I've only heard about Promethia's state religion. Does Diablos have a religion it follows as well?" Sharon nodded her head. Cynthia spoke up to explain it to me." You see, Matthew, everyone knows that Gods and Goddesses exist in our world. Because of Jobs like the King Jobs or even Jobs like yours or Anna's."" Okay, so what makes the religions different, if we all know the same Gods exist?"" It's a matter of preferential treatment.

The Gods of Light favor Humans, The Gods of Nature favor the Elves. The Gods of Darkness prefer us, the Demons and Dark Elves. It's the same for the Dragon Gods for Dragons or the Creation Gods for the Dwarves. They all prefer a different Race and with that, view others as " Lesser." So, different Religions all popped up to allow the Races to worship the Gods of their choice. The Gods care for all mortals to some extent, but for some reason or another, they give their Blessings more to one Race than another.

Which is where the idea of preferential treatment comes from."" Wait, then what about Anna? Isn't her Goddess a Nature Goddess?"" Yes, Anna is an outlier. They exist from time to time. The Gods are fickle. So, if they run into a person they like, they grant their Favor without thinking much about it. Some of these outliers are oppressed like those in Promethia with Jobs relating to the Gods of Darkness." I turned to Anna immediately after hearing Cynthia's answer."

Let me know immediately if someone ever tries to do anything to you, okay?" Anna blushed faintly and answered me." Of course, Master."" How nice..." Cynthia mumbled something under her breath. Before I could ask her to repeat herself, Sarah leaned her body against me." What about me, My Love?"" You're the First Princess of Diablos. Warrick agreed with his wife's sentiment." Well, if she's awake, I suppose we should bring her in as well. So we can catch her up to speed about the battle that happened."

Trish was sent to fetch Helen. After she left, Warrick began to speak to me." Say, John. Have you thought about what you're going to do after marrying Sarah and Anna?"

"What!" From Warrick's statement I waited for the inevitable reaction from the girls. And without fail they delivered." I..." Seems Anna is too embarrassed to speak. Sarah is just smiling at her father. I put my forehead into my palm and started to explain." Warrick, we didn't tell anyone else the news yet."" Oh! Well.... Sorry, I guess?" Asha again, said something under her breath. What is with her recently? Tug... Before I could figure anything out, Cynthia grabbed the sleeve of my shirt and tugged on it for my attention." Sarah, when do you---"" There is a Church on the side of this castle." Before I could finish my sentence, Sarah interrupted me with an answer." Sarah Beth Dreadnaught! And how long have you been planning this!? Anna are you okay with this?" Aqua interrupted Sarah's grand idea. And explained that she already had a plan.

And like that, Aqua was in high spirits. Sarah's mood wasn't too far behind Aqua's. Anna's eyes were darting back and forth from me to back into the palms of her hands. And the other girls were all shocked, except for Cynthia, who no doubt, was used to this. Warrick thankfully attempted to change the subject." We can talk about the Marriages in a bit. Going back to my original question. Do you have any plans for the future? Besides Marriage, John?"" Not really, I didn't really think past that fight with the Hero.

Why do you ask?" Warrick smiled." Well, I do have a plan for you. If you're willing to accept it after all."" Let me hear your plan, Warrick."" Okay, since you were able to defeat the Hero, after your Marriages in the Capital. I want to give you land to Govern."" You want to give me a Fief? Will that be okay?"" If you mean will there be push back? I doubt it. The land I want to give to you is a barren place. No one is really clamoring for it. It's known as the Rose Swamps.

The land has had a shrinking population for as long as I can remember. There's only a hand full of people left there. around 12 I believe? We don't even collect taxes from them now."" So, my reward is a barren land with people abandoning it in droves? Why do you want to give me the land?" Warrick looked at me with seriousness in his dark red eyes and began to speak in a calm tone full of trust." Because I believe you'll find a way to turn things around." The girls were huddled around each other and whispering to each other, seems they don't want the guys to hear it. Helen, Alex and Donovon joined us soon after and Warrick updated them about what happened during the fight with the Hero Party.

The reaction they had when they heard I beat the Hero in one strike was priceless. We spent the rest of the day talking about different strategies for if the Hero Party ever came back. At the end of the meeting, we all decided since I had healed up, we could leave the next day. I went to bed with my 2 Fiancés and slept well.
