Chương 102: Chapter 90. Start Of The Big Day

The light of the sun woke me up today. I've been going to sleep earlier than usual recently. Today's the day. It's been 3 weeks since Warrick made the announcement. Since today is the day Sarah, Anna and I would Marry. For 3 weeks, I've been splitting my time between healing the sick in hospitals in BlackStone City in the morning. Then shadowing Warrick from the afternoon till dinner time. I then spend the rest of my time with Sarah, Anna and the others.

Then at night, Sarah and Anna would join me to sleep together. It would be a wonder how we have barely done anything together while we're alone in my room. If only for the fact that I wasn't so tired I fall asleep within the first 20 or so minutes of my head hitting my pillow. I felt bad until I asked Sarah and Anna if they were mad about it." Not at all, We're able to... Fufufu." Sarah just laughed and Anna... Anna just refused to answer any of my questions about why she was laughing. Time moved on though.

Asha and Sharon's parents had arrived and they were busy spending time with them. Cynthia was being trained by Warrick during the period of time he would train us all. Sarah and Anna spent most of their time preparing for the Wedding. From dresses, flowers, decorations for the wedding reception and choosing what foods there were to be. There was a lot of work to be done from all of that. Finally, we made it to the day. I dressed myself, while thinking about how weird it felt to not have Anna with me in the morning.

A lot can change in only a few months. I ate some breakfast and went through my morning routine. After I got dressed, I heard a knock at the door." Come in!" I allowed them access. The door opened and Trish walked into my room." Why are you here, Trish?" I blurted out the first thing that popped into my head. Trish looked at me with a bit of an annoyed expression." Someone has to prepare you for the Wedding. I was asked to do it by Queen Aqua. So come along, I'll be bringing you to change into your suit.""

What suit? I never got fitted?"" Anna gave us your measurements after the announcement. She's been dressing you for almost half a year, of course, she would know your measurements. I trained her to be an outstanding Maid after all!"" I see. It is true. Anna's been amazing to me these past months. Thanks for teaching her, Trish. You helped build her confidence in a way." Trish just looked away from me. Her ears are a little red. I think it's better not to draw attention to it.

After a few seconds had passed, I decided to offer an out from the silence that began to envelop my room." Well then, Trish. Can you bring me to the dressing room?"" Hm? Ah! Yes." Trish brought me to a simple room in the Eastern Wing of the Palace. I changed into a white suit and walked out of the dressing room." Yes. It will work. Anna chose the color for you with input from Sarah. It seems white truly does suit a Paladin."" Thanks for the compliment!"" Yes, yes. Moving on, we will be heading to the Church now.""

Lead the way." Trish brought me to a carriage and it began to take off with both of us inside. The scenery had barely changed, but the mornings had begun to grow colder. While I was thinking about the weather change, Trish spoke to me." John, how have these last few weeks been for you?"" Hm? You mean you didn't receive reports from Aqua or Warrick?"" No, they tend to be secretive or vague about your movements.

For instance, they mentioned about how you would visit hospitals, they were always careful not to name any locations just in case." The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident." Ah I see what you mean. Well to be honest you kind of answered your own question. During the morning, Warrick and sometimes Aqua would spend time to teach me some general rules for governance.

Honestly, there was some stuff I already had a good idea about, so I only really needed to focus on laws that are enforced by the Crown. Besides that, I was taught about general conduct and the like. You know, etiquette for Nobles and the like."" That explains why you've fixed your posture then."" Aqua really got on my case about it." Aqua was a stickler for posture in particular. I had to focus for days until I felt the way to sit "Proper!" Felt natural to me.

Trish and I passed the time talking about my time healing people in the hospital. I've been able to heal around 600 people so far. I'd be able to do more, but my schedule has been so packed from everything. We finally made it to the Church in time. When we exited the carriage to see the area around the Church was packed with Demons. I immediately turn to Trish." Trish, why are there so many people?"" Sarah, as a Princess, is quite famous. Add on to that, she was always known as a talented individual.

Also, if my memory serves me correctly, this is the first time a Princess of Diablos is Marrying a Human."" So, we have a group of hardcore fans and we have a group of people wanting to witness history."" It appears so, Matthew."

"Is there a back entrance we could take?" I asked for an alternative entrance hoping not to cause a scene. I was met with a cold shake of Trish's head." Damn..."" As a Marquess, you must become used to having a mass number of eyes on you, Matthew. Stand proud and with dignity. Otherwise, you will embarrass Sarah and Anna."" Alright I get it. Let's just enter the Church already please." Trish nodded to my suggestion and we began to enter the Church. Until we were noticed." It's the human!"

Once one found me, the rest followed his eyes. There was silence and stares until we made it into the Church. Upon entry into the Church, I was met by Warrick." Matthew!"" Warrick? What are you doing in the entrance?"" King Warrick will be guiding you to the waiting room for grooms, Matthew."" Are you going to Sarah and Anna then?"" Yes, that is the plan."" I see... Thank you for guiding me, Trish. I guess I'll see you later?"" Of course, I will be attending the Wedding and the Reception."

And like that, Trish walked off." Was your morning okay, John?" Warrick asked me a question as we began to walk back to the waiting room. He went back to calling me by my real name sine it was just us around." I can't complain. Anna left me some breakfast and then Trish brought me here. How was your morning, Warrick?"" It was an early day. Aqua was excited about today and barely slept. She reminded me of the days leading up to our own Wedding." I just realized an important question."

Warrick, what exactly do I need to do as a groom during the Wedding?"" Did no one explain it to you?"" No, I think you and Aqua were too busy teaching me about Governance and helping me heal people."" Well, I guess I can walk you through it..." Warrick began to explain it to me. The Wedding Tradition of Diablos was similar to Christian Weddings of my world. The only difference is that instead of rings, you kiss and meld your mana together. Apparently, it imprints your partner on you in a permanent way."

What exactly changes about your mana though, Warrick?"" Hm... It's hard to explain. Basically, the mixture of saliva and mana causes 2 things to happen to your mana. The first is that it takes on a small aspect of the mana of the partner. For instance, my mana was less dense and heavy before I Married Aqua. Because she is a Mage and practiced Magic and Tempering her Mana it rubbed off on mine and in return, she gained an increase in her Release of Magic because of my mana. Oh...

Magic Release is the moment when a Spell launches from the User. The Increase in it is just a flat increase in the power of the Spell. The second is that the color of your mana will change a bit."" So, in summation, Sarah, Anna and I will have our mana's colors mix and we may also gain an increase in some aspect of mana?"" More or less."" I'm surprised there's no rings."" What was that, John?" I mumbled a thought that popped into my head and Warrick heard it barely."

Nothing, it's just that in my Country from my world, during a Wedding, the couple would exchange rings and wear them for all of their Marriage. It's like a reminder for them and a sign for others that the person is Married to someone."" Hm. That's not a bad custom..."" If I come across some rings that resemble the ones back in my world, I'll let you know. Warrick." Warrick nodded to my words. I wonder what the Marriage Traditions are like in the other Countries here in Gaia?

Not that it matters much, since I'm getting Married here in Diablos. Warrick and I eventually made it to my room and we sat for a bit. / Knock! Knock! Knock! / In time, a knock at the door was heard. Aqua had opened the door and entered the room. She began to speak to us." It's time, My Love, John! The Wedding is about to begin! Come on! Let's get this show on the road!" She really was excited, just like Warrick said. We both looked at each other and rose from our seats.

We exited the room and began to walk to the interior of the Church.
