Chương 130: Chapter 114. Spear Test

The morning started as normal as could be. Sarah and I were woken up by Anna, who had already made breakfast for us. We ate omelets with sausage links made from the meat of one of the monsters we hunted the other day. Good to see that the butchers and processers are already set up for future endeavors. From what I recall, Rodrick said that we have about 70 people working on handling the Monster corpses that we bring back. I hope to make them work overtime soon.

After breakfast, we got ready to continue our hunting escapades. We were joined by Ruby, along with Flare, Skitz and Edmon. I decided to get right down to action." Anna, do you see anything?"" Mostly squirrels and gators."" Good.

I think I want to fight those squirrels today, the way they fight is kind of Human-like, so I think it'll help with my training." I spoke about what I would like to do, Sarah and Anna followed along easily, but Ruby and the rest didn't have a clue what we were thinking about." What do you mean training, Lord Drake?" Flare was the first to ask, Ruby and the rest looked on confused." I evolved my Job not too long ago. I received a dangerous Skill for now, but it's only dangerous in the short term.

It's going to take time to become an asset. I think I can speed up the process by hunting the Monsters here though, the more Human-like, the better, since it has to do with my swordsmanship. With that being said, just following me around and fighting squirrels is hardly a good use of our time, should we split into groups?"" What!?" I'll fight it by myself, if there's even a hint of me not being able to handle it, we can just hunt as a group until we solve the food problem." Anna closed her eyes on her face, and she opened some of the eyes on her arms." About a mile to the West is a gator by itself, it seems to be hunting a pack of those crabs. I think it'll do." Anna reopened the eyes on her face and reported what she found. I was quick to respond, itching to try something I've been curious about." Perfect. Let's head out everyone." Anna found a perfect target if we forgot that there would be those annoying crabs there as well.

WOOSH! / A thick white bolt of death came down instantaneously and crashed into the gator. It looked like a white spear a giant would use. Though it was really thin, almost like a stick that a kid would be willing to pick up and play with, pretending that it was a sword or something...

When it made contact with the gator, the pressure and damage caused the water itself to shift and rage. From that, it made the gator completely visible in a crater that formed at the bottom of the pool it was sitting in from the Spell. Strong winds blew all around and caused all matter of dirt and leaves to blow up all around us. When the damage caused by the Spell had calmed, a thin white spear remained, I saw that it was lodged in the dead gator's head before the water began to cover the corpse of the Monster.

It's body simply began to float in the body of water after it was fully submerged in the water it was just moments ago, hunting in without a care in the world. I placed my hand in front of me and commanded the mana spear to return to me. It collapsed into mana particles and the mana returned to me. It seems that the Spell takes around 20% of my current mana and once it's finished, I can reabsorb about half of that. This Spell is almost too crazy. Now I see what they meant by "attacking with gusto!"

That is definitely a weapon of mass destruction. And I'm going to have access to more, even stronger Skills than this in time? It's sending chills down my spine just imagining what could happen in the future." Wha... What was that?" Flare asked in exasperation. I turned to look at her so I could answer." Me, beating a gator by myself."" My Husband isn't just a Healer, Ms. Flare. He's a Warrior trained by my Parents and continues to polish himself every day through hard work.

He Tempers his Mana whenever he finds time in the day. Because of that, his Magic Skills have grown considerably and quite consistently. If I were to fight one it would take at least half an hour to kill it."" I'm sure if I wasn't allowed to fight with any of my Spells, it would take me an hour to kill a gator. Granted, I wouldn't fight one with only my sword to begin with, I plan on fighting the smaller creatures with only my sword for the foreseeable future." Ruby needed a minute to calm down. Once she was given some time, we decided it'd be best that Skitz and Edmon would come with me just in case.

So, in simple terms, we separated into men and women teams. I worried about the quality of the Monster corpses the male group would have, but Edmon actually could use Mana Storage. His skill wasn't as good as Sarah's, but it could hold around 7 gators, so I think it would be enough for us." Both of you! Do not let any harm come to Lord Drake! No matter what!" Ruby was stressing the importance of protecting me. Which was weird, since I'll be doing the majority of hunting.

Regardless, I just let whatever Ruby wanted to say come out. I understood it came from a place of concern and guilt for how she distrusted me so much when I first arrived. I didn't mind how she treated me. I thought it would be worse to be honest. I guess my "Favored by Demons" Title really has had an effect? I wonder if there's an upgrade to it to cause positive feelings to happen without even meeting a Demon? Would be nice...

While I was thinking about things that probably won't happen, Anna finished looking for my prey." Okay, we'll head East, and you'll head North, we'll meet back in 6 hours at the island in the swamp and head home with your Portal."" Sounds like a plan to me, Anna. I'll see you all soon."" Skitz, Edmon and I took off North, ready and waiting to find some prey. The sun was just beginning to leave the horizon as we took our first steps. I felt like the hunting would go well today.
