Chương 129: Chapter 113. After Dinner Meeting

I returned to the mansion, being escorted by Ruby the entire way. The guards were left at the farm after having small areas set up for breaks and magical lights so they could see around the perimeter of the farm." See you tomorrow, Lord Drake!"" Tomorrow?" Oh, I see, if that's the case, let's do our best starting tomorrow, Ruby!" I waved goodbye to Ruby and entered my mansion where a delicious smell was filling the house." I'm back!"" Welcome back!" Sarah and Anna greeted me with smiles on their faces." Something smells great!" I said happily, my stomach was empty since all I had today was breakfast. Anna spoke to me as I realized how hungry I really was." I'm glad you think so! Today, I made a stew from one of those fish we hunted yesterday.""

Sounds great, I'd like to talk to you both about something I thought up during the farming I did. We can talk about it over dinner. It's nothing too crazy."" Is that so?" Sarah responded to me quickly and Anna simply smiled as she returned to the kitchen to work on the meal. I took that time to grab a quick bath. The bath in the mansion was something extravagant. A golden tub that was big enough to fit around 10 people. There was a shower as well.

Sarah, Anna and I took to showering first and then, we relax and soak in the tub the way people in the East would do it in my old world. I find it to be the best way to relax. My body is usually all banged up from one thing or another, so to just sit and relax my entire body as the hot water soaks into me is great. It's nearly a massage for me at this point. And from doing this, I wake up feeling great in the morning. No matter what goes on in the bedroom...

Considering that dinner was nearly done though, I grabbed a quick shower and head back out. Once I was finished, I walked to the kitchen where we usually ate our meals. The reason being the table in the dining room. It's huge. And made out of strong wood... Or so Sarah and Anna tell me. Along with the wood, it's also got the telltale signs that the Nobles that lived here were idiots. Who the hell finishes a table with gold and silver around the edges and legs?

While I thought about this waste of money, Sarah saw me first and began to speak to me." Good! You're all finished! Come and sit, Anna said dinner will be done shortly. She's currently making sure the seasoning is correct." Anna was humming while mixing seasonings in the stew and tasting the broth of the stew from a small saucer plate she poured it onto. Seems she was pleased with how the dish turned out. I sat down at the giant table that could sit way more people than just us 3 comfortably.

Probably at least 20 or so people?" Dinner is served!" Anna spoke happily as she handed out 2 bowls to Sarah and me. She came into the room with 3 bowls of course. One somewhat large bowl and 2 bowls I'd expect to see for a food challenge for competitive eaters back in my world. Of course, the big ones were for Sarah and Anna. Speaking of, Anna placed her own bowl down on the table first before passing Sarah and I ours. She sat down on my right side as opposed to Sarah sitting on my left.

We began to eat without much fanfare. the taste was perfect for the long tiring day we all had. The fish tasted fresh and bright while the vegetables were nice and soft. The broth was salty and fishy, but not too overpowering on either front. And we had fresh bread straight from the oven to dip the broth with. I thought it was weird that there was no butter, but I was too hungry to ask if we had any. I turned to Anna, who was also enjoying the fruit of her labor and spoke." Anna, it's great!

Sarah and I complimented Anna's cooking, as we usually do, because Anna is just that good of a cook. Once we had finished eating, Sarah turned to me with her purple eyes looking satisfied from the depths of her heart and she began to speak to me." Sarah asked me a question as I began to sip on some after dinner tea that Anna had poured for us all. After sipping on the tea, I began to respond to Sarah. Which at the worst, would make the Nobles... Blatant enemies. If we did it slowly however, and made it seem that it was all due to John's acumen as a Statesman and a Governor.

The other Nobles around these parts are most likely looking for ways to scrutinize me and find any excuse to complain about me after all. Not all of them possibly, but a good amount still. What is it?" Anna spoke in a curious voice. I pointed at my empty teacup and soup bowl." You give us warmth, Anna. You can see the best in people, it's 1 of the reasons I fell for you. I can cook somewhat, but I can't cook anything with the amount of warmth and care you put into a dish.

Because you're here, I look forward to coming back to the mansion or waking up. Since I know you'll be here, and you'll always remind me of the better things in not just my life, but life in general. Even if you eventually do start to see the world through the lens that Sarah and I do, please don't ever lose that feature of yourself. I turned to face Sarah and I noticed that she was a bit jealous of my little speech. She just won't rest until she truly gets what everyone else does from me.... Sarah and Anna heard what I said and began to think about what I said. Anna was the first to speak." I don't think we should yet. We've just gotten a new group of Demons here in Paradise. More have poured in and we're up to around 2500 total Demons behind the walls of Paradise. I think we should go slow. Build up our supplies, our military strength, before attempting to fight anyone." I smiled at Anna's words. Sarah began to speak as well." I think we should do as Anna said.

We can't afford to attack someone or be attacked by someone without our Ts crossed and our Is dotted. I think we wait for now. We all need to grow stronger, the Demons outside of this home obviously included."" Okay then. I'm fine with that. I also want to get stronger as soon as possible.
