Chương 5: The Hunt Goes Wrong

Coburn dashed desperately the moment its bony legs landed upon the hard ground! Behind it, the terrifying claws of the pincers violently snapped shut, aiming directly at its skeletal head!

However, just before he could turn around to leave the building, a devastatingly loud noise violently erupted near the cave's entrance! Standing firmly at the top of the building under the rising sunlight, Arthur could see the mutated monster clearly. Unbelievably, it had not suffered any damage at all from the two mighty attacks! Neither the iron punches nor the blazing fire did any damage to the monster! However, before the monster could regain its bearings, loud yelling echoed out! The people who were positioned nearby frantically rushed towards the beast and hurled a mysterious object directly at it!

Suddenly, the object spread across a massive range, completely covering the monster like a giant fishnet! It was actually a steel capturing net! Once the monster was completely ensnared by the steel net, its front body was securely locked in place. Taking advantage of this, more people rushed forward and unleashed a vicious volley of attacks! Some tightly gripped steel spears to directly target its eyes and head at close range, while others stayed far back and fired a dense volley of arrows!

However, the steel net did not cover the entire body of the monster! Its terrifying tail was still completely free! This was a deadly weapon that had just sent two of the most powerful people flying away like fragile paper! Just like earlier, the monster violently used its tail to whip at the attackers! Clang! The terrifying attack was barely tanked by the burly middle aged man wielding a massive, door like shield! Nevertheless, the heavy impact still sent him skidding several feet backward.

Clearly, he absolutely could not take that kind of heaven shaking attack infinitely! Arthur quickly descended into the second floor where Lena had crash landed. The sheer impact she created was utterly devastating! The entire second floor of the old building had practically crumbled. It was a true miracle the building was still standing intact! Amidst the crumbling walls and heavy debris, a figure slowly rose to her feet.

"Sister Lena, are you okay?" Arthur anxiously called out as he rushed forward to help. However, before he could even reach her, she walked out looking as fresh as she could be! Arthur was completely dumbstruck! He firmly believed that taking such a terrifying attack and crashing into a building would have left her severely injured. Yet, looking at her now, there were absolutely no injuries on her body! She was perfectly fine!

"I am okay," she stated, casting a grave look at the ongoing brawl on the ground.

"Get out of here, leave the premises immediately!" she sternly ordered.

"What?" Arthur asked, thoroughly confused. However, before he could even ask why, she jumped high into the air, fiercely rushing straight towards the monster to rejoin the deadly fight! Seeing the ongoing battle and how impossibly hard it was to inflict even a minor injury upon the monster, he finally understood why she demanded he get out of here. Killing this monster was simply impossible! That theory was brutally proven in the very next second!

The heavy steel net that was holding the monster down was violently torn apart by those incredibly sharp claws! By now, the sun had fully risen, allowing Arthur to easily see the entirety of the beast. It was an unbelievably ugly and terrifying monster, clearly mutated from two different creatures: a scorpion and a snake! A snake like mouth extended directly from its head, while its main body resembled a giant scorpion completely armed with vicious claws and pincers.

Furthermore, it possessed a long, snake like tail ending in a sharp, telson shaped stinger! It truly looked terrifyingly dangerous! Since Lena had strongly advised him to get out of here, he would obediently follow that command and leave at once! He could only pray in his heart that he would eventually get paid if these powerful people managed to escape alive. After all, he had completely finished his job. Or rather, his skeleton had successfully lured the monster straight out of the cave!

Arthur immediately looked towards the direction where Coburn had run away. Decisively, he chose to flee in that exact direction! However, just as he was about to leave, a massive booming noise violently erupted across the battlefield! Iron Fist Edgar had rejoined the battle once again!
