[Forging Successful.] [2499 successful forgings to become Intermediate Status.] [Item Details] [Iron LongSword] (Alpha Standard Low) Blueprint Adherence: 100% Forging Quality: Exceptional Durability: 480/480 Description: A heavy, no-nonsense double-edged sword forged from pure refined iron. No elemental affinity. Provides solid structural integrity and raw cleaving force suitable for novice Awakeners operating within the Alpha Standard.
Appraised Value: 12, 000 to 15, 000 Credits Arthur was dumbfounded by the sudden details about the sword popping up. It was not an appraisal ability, since he did not have any ability. However, he could automatically view the details of the products.
"Could it be a feature coming with the class?" Arthur speculated, and it felt to be true. If he were to see the details of the products his skeletons forge, he would have full knowledge to talk about them, instead of guessing the work. The best part was that he could even see the value of the product. If he were to sell it over the appraised value, he would get a huge profit. An in-between value would also fetch a huge profit. Even a value lower than the appraised value would also get him enough profit.
Since the total cost he spent to make the sword was around 7, 000 Credits, even if he were to sell it for 12, 000 Credits, he would get a profit margin of 5, 000 Credits. Arthur's mouth widened automatically after calculating the profit he would get on a single sword. According to his knowledge, skeleton workers would not need rest, food, or sleep. If Bathory forged non-stop, he would forge eight swords in a single day. If a failure were to happen, it would be at least seven swords.
Calculating the profit of seven swords, considering 5, 000 Credits as profit, he would earn 35, 000 Credits. Subtracting the 20% profit to Mawman Corporation, Arthur's share of profit would be 28, 000 Credits in a single day. Just thinking of the profit made Arthur's head spin. In one month's time, Arthur had to hire a total of 41 skeleton workers. It was an astronomical goal until a few hours ago.
Now, however, for the first time, Arthur could see a clear gap between where he currently stood and where he needed to be in a month's time. Stolen content warning: this content belongs on Royal Road. Report any occurrences. Arthur understood that he needed to scale up rapidly to achieve that goal. Relying solely on Bathory to achieve the goal would be a pipe dream. Furthermore, he had yet to sell the swords to customers, which would be taken care of by Mawman. He still felt pressure on that part.
So, he did not get too overjoyed by this simple achievement. Arthur let out a long, slow sigh and placed the sword on the tattered table in the corner.
"You two did a great job," Arthur praised the two skeletons. He hoped they understood his appreciation since they followed his command. With that, he gave the command to forge the second sword without any delay. Currently, it was almost midnight. They could forge two more swords until the morning. As the command was issued, Bathory started the exact process again without any change. Arthur watched them work for a while. Soon, he felt tired and his eyes started to blur.
He placed the floor mat he brought from home and lay down far from the furnace so he could take a small sleep. He clearly gave the command that two more swords were to be forged and to wait for his command. Sleep came automatically, even amidst the hammer sounds. Sector A, High Society Area. An old man sat on a plush sofa and occasionally sipped a red-colored drink. In front of him stood two people: one young man and one fat old man. The fat old man was the same person Arthur met at the Bruchmann Utility shop.
"Mr. Omero, please repeat what you have told me earlier again, please," the young man said in a very unhappy tone.
"Yes, Mr. Clancy," the fat old man said in a polite tone.
"Today, someone from Outer Sector B bought a Blacksmith Tool kit with a License of Mawman Corporations."
"It is a License agreement to open a branch at Outer Sector B. I felt that it was my obligation to inform Mr. Torin."
"Grandpa, do you think the Mawmans are trying to start a new business after two decades of silence?" Clancy asked in a desperate tone towards the old man. The old man did not speak. He simply gave a swirl to the drink and took another sip. A deep thought permeated his mind as he stared at the blank space.
"Mr. Omero, are you sure it was a Mawman's License?" the old man spoke finally.
"Yes, Mr. Torin. I verified it clearly. It was a Mawman's License with the seals of Mawman and the Union Government."
"According to the staff, the kid who had the license did not even know what an Industrial License was in the morning. When he came back in the afternoon, he was holding a Mawman's License to open a branch workshop," the fat old man, Omero, explained everything.
"I believe this kid from Outer Sector B must be a new Awakener and a scapegoat to test the waters again," Clancy speculated the situation after hearing the fat old man. The old man again went silent, holding the wine glass as if he was planning something or understanding the situation.
"Mr. Omero, the Lambert Family owes you one. We will repay this courtesy," Torin thanked the fat old man.
"Mr. Torin, those are big words coming from you. The Bruchmann family received countless favors in the past. It is just a small thing," the fat old man said finally, and left.
"Grandpa, what do you think? Is that Mawman family trying to establish a new business again?" Clancy speculated.
"I think that old man is trying to do something in his final days instead of living a peaceful life and dying," the old man said.
"Should we clean up that kid and his family? That will put a full stop to whatever that old geezer is planning to do," Clancy said. The old man did not answer immediately. He placed the wine glass down and stood up. He walked towards the open balcony and looked at the center city of Sector A, with towering buildings and busy traffic at this night as well.
"Let us not put our legs in a muddy puddle without knowing its depth. Inform the Industrial Regulation regarding this new shop and verify its legitimacy. Once we know the full picture, we will take action," the old man said.
"I will inform Robert to take care of this," Clancy said. Hearing this, the old man nodded his head, his eyes still looking at the vast city.
