Chương 33: First Commission

Arthur walked into the backdoor until he found someone, asking them to let the manager or owner know that someone had arrived regarding a Quest. The restaurant was a medium establishment with three stores. It was not a high-end restaurant like the ones that existed in Sector A. After waiting for a while, the person who went inside to inform returned with a middle-aged lady. She must be the manager, Arthur guessed. The lady looked sharp by her demeanor and walking style.

She wore a crisp-looking manager suit with moderate makeup. Arthur stood there silently, looking at the lady quickly walking towards him. He could feel that she was also intently judging him by his attire and demeanor. Furthermore, the Quest owner must have received the Quest taker's details, including his Class details.

"Hello, I am here to deliver the Quest item," Arthur said as she finally came to a stop without any expression on her face.

It was just an hour and a half since it was packed; so, Arthur felt the meat would be fine, not being spoiled or anything of that sort.

The guy quickly unwrapped the package box. Inside, the meat was neatly stacked with a uniform size of two inches by six inches. It was perfect to cook any type of dish. Arthur was truly satisfied by the work of the Antrae skeleton. With that satisfaction, he looked at the lady to see if she had any complaints or anything. However, the lady, who was indifferent the whole time, had her face changed after witnessing the meat. She immediately went down and picked up one of the meat cuts.

She quickly inspected it with great curiosity. Although Arthur could guess she was animated after seeing the meat, he failed to guess whether she was excited or disappointed. Arthur stood still, looking at the lady as she picked them up, one after another.

"It is a fine cut, Madam. We can send this batch to serve," the guy who unwrapped the package said. Only after hearing his words did Arthur's heart feel good. He had finally completed his first Quest, the first of many.

"Mr. Arthur, it is a fine cut, and the quality of the meat is also very good. Thanks for taking the Quest as well as completing it," she said. Only now did the lady start to smile, breaking her manager persona.

"No problem," Arthur said as he waited for the payment.

"Mr. Arthur, please follow me," she said with a smile, completely different from her previous order. Obeying her request, Arthur followed her closely. They quickly crossed the kitchen, where a lot of chefs were continuously working to prepare the dishes. After crossing two more doors, the lady entered into an office room. She quickly sat on the head chair, gesturing for Arthur to sit on the other chair. She turned on her digital tablet and started to navigate to the Awakening Website on the translucent screen.

Following which, she pressed the Quest completion button. With that action, Arthur had completed his first Quest.

"Now, Arthur, I owe you 10, 000 Credits for the meat. Do you have a Bank Card so I can deposit the amount, or do you want it in cash?" the lady asked.

"Yes, I have a Bank Card. Please deposit it in there." Arthur handed over the card.

"Very well. I will deposit 10, 000 Credits, plus an additional 1, 000 Credits as gratitude for the fine meat," the lady casually said. Hearing she was going to give an extra 1, 000 Credits just for the quality of the meat and the cut, Arthur was shocked. He had made a good decision in hiring a dedicated skeleton worker. The extra 1, 000 Credits were all thanks to Antrae, the Butcher Skeleton. If Antrae were a normal person, Arthur could have bought something for him. However, it was a skeleton.

What would a skeleton even need in this world? Just when Arthur was thinking of how he would give some bonus to the Antrae skeleton, the door parted open. The guy who had taken the meat entered in an urgent manner. He swiftly walked towards the lady and started to whisper. The lady listened to the guy without any reaction. Once he was done whispering, he stepped back.

"Let the orders be prepared first; we will see what to do next," she said. The guy nodded his head and left the office room. The lady continued the transaction, transferring the Credits into the Bank Card. Meanwhile, Arthur was thinking about what Quest he should take tomorrow, since that guy, Nickolas, was going to come. Just when he was thinking about Nickolas, the lady suddenly spoke.

"The meat you have brought has already sold out. The customers were very much drawn by the taste," she said with a smile on her face. Arthur was surprised by the sudden revelation. Did the Hunk Boar meat truly possess such a taste that it sold out? Just how much time had passed since he entered the restaurant? However, a sudden thought arrived in his mind. Since they currently had a demand for the Hunk Boar meat, he could simply sell the rest of the meat he had right here.

"If you have that much demand for the Hunk Boar meat, I have a few more. Do you wish to buy them?" Arthur said.

"I will buy every last piece of meat you have, and I will pay an extra 1, 000 Credits, the same as before," the lady said in an excited tone. Arthur was surprised by this sudden change in the lady's behavior. She was completely different from her earlier manager duty. Currently, she acted like a desperate buyer needing to purchase something that was rare on the market. However, he could not understand how the meat was so special that it sold out. It was just regular Adult Hunk Boar meat.

It was only of Alpha standard quality, so it was not as if it were a rare or higher-standard beast meat. They could easily visit the Luck Forest and hunt as much as they wanted. They could even hire [Gamma] or higher standard Awakened to hunt the Hunk Boar. Arthur could not understand why they did not do such an action. However, that did not matter. Now, he had a chance to earn a lot of money; he could even sell the unskinned boar as well. Following this thought, he summoned Coburn inside the private room.

The skeleton emerged from the magical circle diagram, holding the remaining five packages on its shoulder.
