"You are remarkably honest, Ken," Sayma's father said. His voice lost its cold edge. It sounded genuinely amused.
"Most young men sit in that exact chair and lie to me. They boast about their wealth. They brag about their fake political connections. They try to sound incredibly smart. You just talk about potatoes." Ken grinned widely.
"Potatoes are very reliable. You can mash them, fry them, or bake them. They never let you down." Sayma's mother let out a soft, genuine laugh. She covered her mouth elegantly.
"You are quite refreshing, Mr. Eliot. Sayma is always so serious. She constantly reads books and calculates statistics. She never relaxes. We mistakenly thought she would marry someone just as stiff and analytical as she is." They mistakenly interpreted his childish antics as a sign of a pure, wonderfully genuine nature that perfectly balanced their daughter's intense, analytical seriousness.
"I try to get her to relax," Ken agreed happily. He pointed a lazy finger at Sayma.
"I tell her to take naps all the time. She just ignores me and reads more books. It is very tragic." Sayma blinked her eyes behind her thick glasses. She was completely stunned. Her parents were not angry at all. They were actually smiling. They warmly approved of the fake match. They thought his goofy, careless nature was exactly what their stressed daughter needed. While the parents warmly approved of the match, Zaima was absolutely furious and deeply disgusted by the commoner. She gripped the edge of the table.
She wanted to scream. She hated his untucked shirt. She hated his lazy smile. The dinner ended smoothly. Ken ate three full plates of food. He ignored all proper dining etiquette. Sayma finally relaxed her shoulders. Her tactical lie worked flawlessly.
"We must speak with our staff in the kitchen," Sayma's father announced. He stood up.
"Make yourselves comfortable in the lounge. Dessert will be served shortly." Sayma stood up quickly.
"I will go help them carry the dessert plates. I want to make sure they bring the premium chocolate cakes." She smiled at Ken and followed her parents out the door. The dining room became very quiet. When left alone for a moment, Zaima stood up from her chair. She marched slowly toward Ken. She wore her pristine white uniform. Her face was twisted into a scowl of pure hatred. Zaima attempted to viciously troll and humiliate him.
"Do not think you fooled me, peasant," Zaima sneered. Her voice was harsh and cold.
"My parents are foolish. But I know the truth. You are just a greedy rat. You are using my sister for a free meal." Ken did not flinch. He did not look scared. He just reached over and picked up a clean silver spoon. He balanced the spoon lazily on his finger.
"I am definitely using her for a free meal," Ken agreed casually. He gave Zaima a goofy smile.
"She promised me limitless desserts. I am a businessman. I go where the cakes go. It is a flawless strategy." This tale has been pilfered from Royal Road. If found on Amazon, kindly file a report. Zaima slammed her hand onto the table. The silver forks rattled loudly.
"You are a complete embarrassment! You walk around with your shirt untucked like a beggar! Princess Hestia laughs at you every single day! My unit is perfect! Your unit is garbage!" Ken watched the spoon wobble on his finger. He let out a loud yawn.
"Wow. You really practice these speeches, don't you?" Ken asked lazily. He dropped the spoon on the table.
"Do you stand in front of a mirror and practice looking angry? Because your face is stuck in a permanent scowl. You are going to get wrinkles very early." Zaima gasped. Her face turned a bright, vibrant pink.
"How dare you!" Ken effortlessly and mercilessly roasted her right back with highly sarcastic, devastatingly witty comebacks that targeted her massive ego. He slouched his shoulders and looked directly at her.
"I just do not understand you, Zaima," Ken said casually. He crossed his arms over his chest.
"You look exactly like Sayma. You have the same face. But you are incredibly annoying. Sayma is smart. She reads books. You just yell at people. It must be very tiring trying to prove you are better than her all the time."
"I AM better than her!" Zaima shouted loudly. She pointed a shaking finger at him.
"I serve the 16th Princess! My uniform is spotless! I am an elite warrior! She is just a boring nerd hiding behind a shield!"
"A spotless uniform just means you stand in the back and let other people do the dirty work," Ken countered smoothly. He gave her a lazy wink.
"Sayma gets her hands dirty. She calculates real strategies. You just stand around trying to look pretty for the cameras. You are basically just a shiny lawn ornament." Zaima's jaw dropped completely open. She stared at him in pure shock. Nobody had ever spoken to her like that. This messy commoner was tearing her entire personality apart with absolute, effortless sarcasm.
"You know nothing about me!" Zaima shrieked. Her hands curled into tight fists.
"I am a master of triangular barrier magic!" Ken let out a long, dramatic groan. He threw his head back and looked at the chandelier.
"Triangular barriers," Ken mumbled lazily. He shook his head.
"That is the most inefficient shape possible. Triangles have weak corners. Sayma uses hexagons. Hexagons are structurally flawless. Even bees know that. You are getting outsmarted by bugs, Zaima. That is truly tragic."
"Shut up!" Zaima screamed at the top of her lungs. Her face turned an explosive shade of red. The blush reached all the way to the roots of her hair. She was completely losing her mind. He pushed the elite 16th Unit servant to the absolute brink of a violent, physical meltdown. She raised her right hand. Bright white magical energy instantly flared around her fingers. She completely abandoned her noble discipline. She wanted to physically smash this arrogant, lazy boy right through the dining room table.
She aimed a sharp, glowing triangular barrier directly at his face.
"I am going to crush you!" Zaima roared furiously. Ken did not move. He did not raise his hands to defend himself. He just sat in his chair and smiled a goofy smile. He knew he was perfectly safe.
"Zaima! Stop right there!" The dining room doors burst open. Sayma rushed into the room. She held a large tray of premium desserts. She pushed her thick glasses up the bridge of her nose. She looked incredibly alarmed. She saw the glowing white magic pulsing dangerously in her sister's hand. Sayma immediately ran across the room. She grabbed Ken's arm. She pulled him out of his chair.
"We are leaving!" Sayma announced frantically.
"Wait, what about the cake?" Ken complained loudly. He stumbled as Sayma pulled him away from the table. He pointed a desperate finger at the dessert tray.
"There are chocolate slices on that tray! We cannot leave the cakes behind!"
"There is no time for cake, Ken!" Sayma hissed nervously. She kept her grip firmly on his sleeve. Zaima glared at them. The glowing white magic pulsed in her hand. She looked like a complete maniac.
"Do not run away, you coward! Stand still and fight me!"
