The massive metal doors at the back of the chamber swung violently open. Everyone turned their heads. Ken paused with his fruit tart halfway to his mouth. A tall, incredibly imposing man marched into the room. He wore a pristine, bright white military uniform with gold trim. He had short, platinum blonde hair. His piercing green eyes constantly sparked with faint electrical energy. He walked with absolute, uncompromising authority. It was the 1st Prince, Zeus Belmontia. The entire room froze.
The judges instantly sat up straight. Princess Iris turned around. Her eyes widened in genuine surprise. Prince Zeus did not smile. He did not look friendly. He marched straight down the center aisle. His polished boots clicked sharply against the marble floor. Small, jagged sparks of yellow lightning popped around his fingertips. He looked like a man who demanded absolute perfection from the entire world. Zeus stopped right next to Princess Iris. He did not even look at her.
He kept his sparking green eyes fixed entirely on the three judges.
"You hesitate," Prince Zeus announced. His voice was deep, strict, and incredibly powerful.
"You read the evidence of high treason, and you hesitate. That is a massive disappointment." The Head Judge swallowed hard.
"Prince Zeus. We were simply verifying the claims."
"The claims are absolute truth," Zeus declared coldly. He raised his left hand. He held a thick, dark gray folder. He threw the folder onto the wooden desk. It landed with a loud smack.
"My sister's unit found the murder of the scientist," Zeus stated. He finally glanced at Iris for a fraction of a second.
"But they only found half the story. I have brought the rest of the proof. Dr. Raven's crimes go much deeper than a single assassination." Ken finished his fruit tart. He dusted his hands on his pants. He watched the 1st Prince.
"Wow, this guy is very intense," Ken mumbled lazily.
"He needs to relax. Maybe he needs a fruit tart too." Naomi nudged Ken again. She gave him a warning look. She pointed at the angry Prince. Prince Zeus opened the gray folder. He pulled out a stack of photographs. He laid them out on the desk. The photos showed a man in a dark blue police uniform. The man in the photos was dead.
"This is the police chief of the Yellow Leaf district," Zeus explained grimly.
"He went missing six months ago. The official report said he ran away. That was a complete lie. My personal spies tracked his final movements. I found his body yesterday." The judges gasped again. Double murder was an unforgivable crime.
"The police chief was conducting a routine patrol in the outer districts," Zeus continued. His voice crackled with electrical energy.
"He accidentally stumbled upon the illegal Solurius radiation transports. He found Dr. Raven's secret supply lines. He gathered evidence. He prepared to expose the entire operation." The author's content has been appropriated; report any instances of this story on Amazon. Zeus pointed a sparking finger at the photographs.
"Dr. Raven found out," Zeus said ruthlessly.
"He ordered his assassins to capture the police chief. They brutally murdered him to protect their apocalyptic weapon project. They buried his body in an unmarked grave. Dr. Raven orchestrated a double murder to hide his treason." The room was completely silent. The sheer scale of the crimes was undeniable. There was no more room for hesitation. There was no more room for political favors. Prince Zeus crossed his arms. He glared at the Head Judge.
"You have the letter from the dead scientist. You have the confession of the assassin. You have the body of a murdered police chief. You have the proof of an illegal radiation bomb. Dr. Raven is a traitor to the Belmontia Empire. Do your job."
The three judges stared at the photographs of the murdered police chief. They looked at the letter from Dr. Carrion. The evidence was absolutely overwhelming. The entire case was built like a solid brick wall. There was no way out for Dr. Raven. The Head Judge picked up a small wooden gavel. He looked very serious. He hit the gavel against a round block of wood. Thwack. Thwack.
"The evidence presented by the 13th Unit and the 1st Prince is undeniable," the Head Judge announced loudly. His voice echoed across the vast chamber.
"Dr. Raven has committed crimes of the highest magnitude. He orchestrated double murder. He funded illegal, apocalyptic radiation research. He has betrayed the Belmontia Empire." Princess Iris let out a soft breath of relief. She looked at Naomi and Sayma. They shared a quick, proud smile. They had done it. They had solved the case.
"By the ultimate authority of the Emperor," the Head Judge declared, reading from a glowing magical scroll that appeared on his desk.
"Dr. Raven is hereby officially stripped of all his political titles. He is removed from his seat of power immediately. He has zero authority in this capital city." Laxmi grinned wildly. She pumped her fist quietly.
"Yes! Take that, you evil politician!"
"Furthermore," the Head Judge continued. His expression grew incredibly stern.
"Dr. Raven is immediately summoned to appear before the highest, most severe Imperial Court. He will face absolute, unyielding justice for his horrific crimes. He will not escape." Zinia crossed her strong arms. She nodded her head in deep satisfaction.
"Good. He deserves to stand trial. He needs to answer for everything he did to those innocent people." Prince Zeus did not smile. He simply nodded his head once. He accepted the ruling with cold, strict perfection. He turned around to leave the chamber. He had delivered his evidence. He had zero interest in chatting with his younger sister.
"Wait," the Head Judge called out. He raised his hand. Prince Zeus stopped walking. He looked back over his shoulder. Sparks of yellow lightning popped around his boots.
"Is there a problem?"
"The Emperor has issued a final, strict decree regarding this specific case," the Head Judge explained. He looked extremely nervous. He picked up another glowing scroll. Princess Iris frowned. She stepped forward.
"What kind of decree, Your Honor?"
"The nature of Dr. Raven's crimes is incredibly sensitive," the Head Judge read from the scroll.
"The public does not know about the Solurius radiation project. They do not know about the apocalyptic bomb blueprints. If the citizens learn that a corrupt politician almost built a toxic weapon in their city, it will cause a massive, uncontrollable public panic." Sayma pushed her glasses up. She understood the logic perfectly.
"A city-wide panic would destroy the economy. People would riot in the streets. They would lose all faith in the government."
"Exactly," the Head Judge nodded.
"The Emperor refuses to allow a massive panic during the Succession War. Therefore, the Emperor has commanded a strict media blackout." The Head Judge hit his gavel one more time. Thwack.
"The upcoming trial of Dr. Raven will remain a highly classified State Secret," the judge declared with absolute finality.
"The courtroom will be sealed. There will be no public broadcast. The citizens will not see the trial on television. All associated evidence is entirely hidden from the public record. You are all forbidden from discussing this case with anyone outside this room."
