Aidan Despite the voidlings scouting for me, I decide to go and scout a little bit myself. Just to get a lay of the land. It's always better to see these things myself, after all. Then I can go check out the Labyrinth after that. But before either of those things, I enter the city again and move towards the metal building. Since I haven't actually checked inside of it yet. The building looks about three stories, and looks like the size of a pretty large house. Is this the city hall or something?
I frown for a moment before just walking up to the front door, which is made out of a pitch black metal, only for the door to open automatically when I get near it. Revealing the inside of the building to be a large lobby, with a receptionist desk at the back of the lobby, and lounge areas on both sides of the entrance. Other than the empty receptionist desk and the lounge areas, there are two stairwells going up on either side of the receptionist desk. Not to mention two doors behind the desk itself.
I walk through the empty lobby before opening the doors behind the desk to find what look to be a shared work area, some offices, and more stairs. So I go up the stairs to find more offices on the second floor attached to the sides of two long hallways going from the two staircases going down to the lobby to meet at the end where a much larger office is. Lastly, inside of the office, I find a door that opens automatically when I approach it and reveals another staircase.
One that goes up to what looks like a one-story living space. With a bedroom, bathroom, living room area, and more. Right. So this is the city hall and my private living space? Or a private living space, at the very least. Doesn't have to be mine. I will stay here for now though, seeing as there's no other place to stay in the meantime. With the city hall explored, I go ahead and sit on a chair in the living area while finally looking at the System Menu for the System City.
Which isn't faded anymore like it was before. ◊◊◊◊◊ System City Menu War Points: 110, 762 City Perks: None Current System Buildings System Buildings Shop System Buildings Placement ◊◊◊◊◊ I start by selecting the Current System Buildings Menu. ◊◊◊◊◊ Current System Buildings Menu System City Hall – The City Hall of the System City. Every System City has one, and it grants an indestructible building for the purpose of city management.
The only way to destroy it is through an enemy planet's user or monster directly attacking it. Being registered within the City Hall's citizen registry for the System City grants users a +10% to all of their stats while they are in the System City's Labyrinth. Furthermore, various other System City Buildings grant additional benefits to being registered within the City Hall's citizen registry.
If the City Hall is destroyed, the System City will fall lest the City Lord manage to reach the City Hall and spend Victory Points to restore it within three minutes of its destruction. Basic City Walls – The City Walls of the System City. Every System City has them, and they grant a basic aura that repels wild animals and marks the territory of the System City. Additionally, groups of monsters that number less than ten will be significantly less likely to attack or try to pass the City Walls.
And every user registered within the City Hall's citizen registry gains a 10% damage reduction to all damage done to them by enemies to the System City. System Kiosk – The System Kiosk of the System City. It allows all users in the System City to open the Gaia Marketplace, where they may purchase items listed on the marketplace or list their own items on the marketplace in the marketplace.
Every user registered within the City Hall's citizen registry gains priority in the marketplace when selling items, placing their items closer to the top of the marketplace. System Portal – The System Portal of the System City. It allows users to travel to any other System City that has opened a connection to your own System City for the price of 100 War Points per teleportation that will be paid out to the City Lord who owns the System Portal used.
Every user registered within the City Hall's citizen registry will have a 10% discount on the System Portal's usage, and will be allowed to teleport to the Gaia Public Cities used for meeting other cities and hosting System Events after System Events begin. This novel's true home is a different platform. Support the author by finding it there. Level 1 Void Breach – A Void Breach opened by the System for the Void Crowne City Lord of the System City thanks to the use of a Legendary Token.
It connects the System City to the void, spreading the bounds of the System City into the void for one thousand feet around the Void Breach. The Level 1 Void Breach allows one thousand voidlings of Iron Tier to pass through from the void into the planet of Gaia every day, where they may stay for twelve hours before the System automatically teleports them back through the Void Breach. However, all voidlings registered as denizens of Gaia may pass through the Void Breach whenever and however they please.
Labyrinth – A Labyrinth for users to delve into for War Points, loot, and honor. All War Points earned in the Labyrinth are taxed by a flat 1% paid to the City Lord upon exiting the Labyrinth. Outside of the Labyrinth, the System provides the Labyrinth Leaderboards board and the Labyrinth Colosseum.
All users may see the deepest any user has made it into this City's Labyrinth on the Labyrinth Leaderboards, as well as the furthest anyone has made it on any Labyrinth in all of Gaia and all of the Aqua Galaxy on separate tabs. Labyrinth Colosseum – A colosseum surrounding the entrance to the Labyrinth. All users may enter the Labyrinth Colosseum bleachers to watch System Events on a special livestream shown on a System screen above the Labyrinth for a fee of 300 War Points.
Every user registered within the City Hall's citizen registry will be allowed to enter the bleachers of the Labyrinth Colosseum for 100 War Points. It has a seating capacity of 2000 seats. ◊◊◊◊◊ That gives me a lot more information than I was expecting. And it explains what the City Hall is for. Citizen registration for the System City, huh? It sure makes things a lot more convenient. The System Buildings even give benefits for becoming a citizen of the city.
Also, it's a pity that the void breach has a limit to the number of voidlings that can enter the world from there. But at least it doesn't limit the Gaia denizen voidlings from coming and going. The fee on the System Portal is nice too. Actually, there are quite a lot of fees. And now I know what those bleachers and the colosseum are for. Although I'm a little surprised that there's no benefit for registered citizens for the Labyrinth itself. Just the colosseum around it. Anyway, I move onto the next menu.
The System Buildings Shop, whose name is rather self-explanatory. ◊◊◊◊◊ System Buildings Shop War Points: 110, 762 Unique Building: System Auction House – 30, 000 War Points – The System Auction House is a Unique Building that can only exist once per planet. It is a System enforced Auction House that handles all transactions of the auctions directly with no fear of scams or fraud.
Users may host their own auctions in smaller auction rooms within the Auction House, while the City Lord and specific assigned users by the City Lord may use the main room within the Auction House. All items purchased within the Auction House are protected until the user leaves the System City, making stealing items purchased within the Auction House impossible within the bounds of the City.
If users who have just bought items within the Auction House are detected to be in danger by another user, a check will immediately be made by the System to detect if the purpose of the attack on the user is to steal what was purchased. If the attacker's intent is to steal what was purchase, the Auction House security and nearby civilians registered in the City Hall's citizen registry are both notified of the crime and the parties involved in it.
The City Lord receives a 15% fee from all auctions occurring within the System Auction House. | Buy – Unlocked Advanced City Walls – 30, 000 War Points – Upgrades the Basic City Walls into Advanced City Walls. This increases the size of the walls by two dozen feet in height and one dozen feet in width, increases the number of monsters that can be turned away from the walls from groups below ten to groups below thirty, and increases the damage reduction for all users within the City Hall's citizen registry to 15%.
| Buy – LOCKED Level 2 Void Breach – 50, 000 War Points – Upgrades the Level 1 Void Breach to Level 2. This increases the number of non-native voidlings that may pass through the Void Breach from one thousand to three thousand, and it increases the size of the System City reaching into the void from one thousand feet to three thousand feet. | Buy Medium Labyrinth Colosseum – 10, 000 War Points – Upgrades the Labyrinth Colosseum to a Medium Labyrinth Colosseum.
This increases the size of the colosseum and its seating capacity to 5000 seats. | Buy Medium System City Hall – 10, 000 War Points – Upgrades the System City Hall to a Medium System City Hall. This increases the size of the building and increases the number of receptionist desks capable of registering users into the City Hall's citizen registry from one to two.
| Buy System Blacksmith Shop – 50, 000 War Points – The System Blacksmith Shop allows users to directly hire blacksmiths from all around the Aqua Galaxy to forge weapons and armor for them. A 10% fee is extracted from all commissions made through the System Blacksmith Shop that is paid to the City Lord. Every user registered within the City Hall's citizen registry will have the fee reduced to 5%. | Buy – LOCKED … Return ◊◊◊◊◊ Okay, that System Auction House looks really nice for making War Points.
And I think I do actually remember getting a Unique Building unlocked from reaching the top one hundred on the Galaxy Tutorial Leaderboards. So that must be where I unlocked it from. It'll probably be the first building I buy when I start buying buildings. As for the others? They're mostly just basic upgrades, or locked buildings. I guess most System Buildings need to be unlocked with Victory Points or Event Points to build. That's a shame, but I do at least know one thing from seeing all of these buildings.
I'm going to be rich in War Points from all these fees alone. That thought makes me chuckle a little as I get up and begin leaving the City Hall. Only to find voidlings already manning the different offices in the City Hall, including the receptionist desk. With some of them asking if I could grant them staff positions in the City Hall to begin officially working. Yep. These voidlings are incredibly convenient.
