Different Fifth Floors across Aidan's Tutorial Over the course of the next several days remaining of the Tutorial"Alana, get out of the way!" Ali hears Henry shout, following which she jumps back with her fists still up as the large armored death knight in front of her lets out a roar. Then several arrows coated in flames rush past her to slam into the death knight. Increasing the volume and pitch of the roar as the undead feels the heat of the flames.
Ali pants in exhaustion as Jackson moves in with his bone sword, Jamie uses her bone staff to cast healing spells on the undead to hurt it with her Bloodline that makes her healing harm undead, and Rachel focuses on healing Ali. And after one last barrage of arrows from Henry, the death knight boss of their Normal Difficulty Tutorial's Fifth Floor finally falls.
Despite the pain from her wounds, which are gradually fading from Rachel's healing, Ali finds herself grinning at the sight of the System Messages that appear in her vision. All of which confirm the death of the boss.
"We did iiiiiittt!!!" Jackson shouts while jumping up and down, only to grimace when he lands on his shattered foot. A wound obtained during an exchange with the death knight when the knight launched him backwards earlier.
"That hurt."
"You idiot," Jamie mutters as she quickly rushes over to heal him.
"Don't do stupid antics until your healed."
"But we won!" Jackson says with a wide grin directed at Jamie, which Ali notices makes the introverted girl blush a little. Ali tilts her head a little at the sight. Is a romance forming in our team? She glances at Henry to find him looking at the two with a faint, knowing smile. Meanwhile Rachel doesn't notice a thing as she focuses on healing Ali. Ali returns her focus to Jackson and Jamie when the girl continues lightly scolding him for rushing in too quickly and without a healer.
Then for several other things after that. One after another. Pretty much taking Ali and Henry's jobs from them in the process. Not that Ali has any issues with it. So Ali turns her focus onto Rachel as she begins her own after-battle feedback with their group's other healer. Their group works well together and was lucky enough to end up together a second time for the fifth floor, just like the first floor. But that doesn't mean they'll end up in the same location after the Tutorial.
And even if that wasn't the case, bad habits should be stopped before forming regardless. I'm just glad Aidan's doing well now… A faint smile spreads across her face at that thought as she continues scolding Rachel. Briefly making Rachel wonder if Ali enjoys scolding them in the process. A loud roar echoes across the offering chamber of the jungle temple as Zryss the Fangsplitter soars through the air and pierces his new spear directly into the skull of the high priest boss.
Finally finishing the monster off when his feet kick the high priest to the ground. And while he's still standing with one foot on the high priest's corpse, covered in wounds all over his body and panting in exhaustion, the System Messages registering the hard difficulty Tutorial boss' death enter his vision. Unauthorized usage: this tale is on Amazon without the author's consent. Report any sightings. But he's not happy with this result.
Not happy at all as he turns his head to look at his arm, which is currently lying several feet away from him. Completely torn from his body by the high priest's attacks. He almost lost a leg as well, only to barely dodge the attack. This rat-damned boss was never meant for a single person to kill. It can't have been. Ever since the very start of the battle, Zryss has barely been hanging in there. Finally making him understand why slaying the boss in the hard difficulty Tutorial isn't a requirement but a bonus.
Unlike the other Tutorial difficulties. And that makes him wonder just how the First Ranked managed to kill his boss so quickly. Entire days before Zryss. Is he just that powerful? Or did he get lucky? Either way, Zryss has already sworn to himself that he will conquer this new planet just like his old one. So he will do so. No matter what it takes. He will make the orcs the supreme species.
After letting out a faint growl of anger, the Orc King walks over to grab his arm before moving towards the boss' chest for his rewards.
"You cat finker! You filthy little cat loving finker! How dare you try ta take tha last hit from your great ruler!" Redneck the Thirty-First shouts while slamming his lovely crimson spear down on the easy difficulty Tutorial boss' corpse – that of a large zombie – multiple times.
"I was tha one who led you finkers 'ere, an' this is how you treat your king?!"
"Hey, Radrad the Zeroith," Zenzed the Seventh whispers as Redneck continues shouting at the ratkin who stole the final hit from the boss.
"Didn't Redneck ge' lost ten times on our way 'ere? An' didn' Blueneck find tha right path?" Redneck spins around and slams his spear on the ground once more while activating a skill in the spear, sending an arrow of flames straight at Zenzed the Seventh. Burning off the fur on the ratkin's head and back as Redneck shouts, "I told ya! I was testin' you cat finkers! Teeessstiiing!" The other ratkin all rapidly nod their heads in agreement, not wanting to be scalded bald themselves.
Because a ratkin's fur is their treasure. They can't get married without the fur to show off to their mates, after all. So, without any hesitation, the seven ratkin in the group excluding Redneck, Zenzed, and Blueneck all begin to betray Blueneck one after another. After shouting at Blueneck some more and feeling thoroughly satisfied, enough that he forgot why he was shouting in the first place, Redneck finally turns his attention to the boss chest as he declares, "Let us claim out rewards! For tha ratkin!!!"
A wave of squeaking from the various ratkin fill the underground crypt in excitement. Of course, Redneck makes sure to take more loot than the rest of them, which decreases their excited squeaking a bit. Andrew Stone feels more than a little discomfort as he sits on a recliner on the opposite side of the room of the rest of his team members for the fifth floor. With the sole exception of the other human in their group, Akira Fuji, who has been sharpening his sword for the majority of the time they've been here.
Which has been entire days since they cleared the fifth floor. Just how long can someone sharpen their sword before they sharpen the rest of it away, anyways? Andrew's attention turns back to the other alien creatures in the room. And while the elf, Serina Duskbane, and the voidling, Xyrr'kethal, are fine since they never say anything and were good team players on the floor, the wrath was a different matter. Something about Rictar'lavi bothers Andrew. A lot.
The wrath worked well with their team, Andrew admits that. It's how they were the first in their cluster to beat the normal difficulty boss. But the way the wrath looks at their team like they're nothing, just tools to use in battle, bothers the heck out of Andrew. Andrew has already been in a terrible mood since entering the System. Because the System itself is a terrible thing prompting people to kill each other and fight to the death for power.
And Andrew is a firm believer in the belief that power shouldn't be held by singular people. No matter who they are. So seeing people like the wrath – if another species could be counted as a person in the human dictionary – bothers him. Still. Andrew knows when to keep his mouth shut. But thanks to that, and the personalities of every user in the leisure room, the room has been dead silent ever since they all first entered it. With the only sound being that of the sharpening blade.
Which is still being sharpened even as Andrew's mind tries to figure out what to do now. Seriously?! How long can one person sharpen a sword?!
