Aidan I start out by opening the Multiversal Wars Menu. ◊◊◊◊◊ Multiversal War Menu War Points: 110, 762 Victory Points: 0 Perks: Tutorial Discount, Tutorial Skill Infusion Monsters Launch Assault Attack Victory Point Shop Event Point Shop ◊◊◊◊◊"I see you're looking through the Multiversal War Menu!" the Guide says, reminding me that the Guides can see what menus you have open so that they can help guide you. But only while they're acting as your guide.
"You have quite a few War Points already too! Wow! But I suppose that's to be expected of a First Ranker! Please ask me anything you want to know!" I glance at the perks listed there before finding that I can pull up their descriptions by focusing on them. But since I already know what the perks do, I move past them to open the Monsters Menu. Since I'm curious what Boss Monster I unlocked. ◊◊◊◊◊ Monsters Menu Boss Monsters Regular Monsters Return ◊◊◊◊◊ I select the Boss Monsters option.
◊◊◊◊◊ Boss Monsters Menu War Points: 110, 762 Blighted Broodmother – 25, 000 War Points – A blighted boss monster that constantly spawns three blightlings per hour. These blightlings will spread the blight through every target they touch. And once the blighted broodmother is killed, she explodes, spreading blight to every target within three hundred feet of her. Return ◊◊◊◊◊ Huh. That's not half bad. It's not an incredibly powerful one-on-one boss, but it is certainly a boss that'll give me a lot of Victory Points.
And Seraphyne mentioned that whenever a monster's description states the word 'target', it means that just the users directly participating in the war. So the blight shouldn't spread to bystanders. As for the price? Twenty-five thousand is less than a fourth of my current War Points. I still don't know how easy it is to get War Points, though. So I'll reserve my opinion about whether that's a good price or not for later. With that thought, I return to the Monsters Menu and move to the Regular Monsters Menu.
◊◊◊◊◊ Regular Monsters Menu War Points: 110, 762 Elite Void Golem – 250 War Points – A rare golem monster. Void golems are golems made of void mana with a void core. Their only weaknesses are having the mana in them drained or having their cores destroyed. This content has been unlawfully taken from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere. Weak Mimic – 100 War Points – An uncommon miscellaneous monster.
Weak mimics are monsters disguised as loot boxes meant to trick users into trying to open them for loot, only for the mimics to gobble up the users instead. Zombie Soldier – 25 War Points – A common undead monster. Zombie soldiers are the sturdiest of the most common undead, but they deal less damage than the skeletons and ghosts. Gray Wolf – 25 War Points – A common beast monster. Gray wolves have strong jaws that they can latch onto a user with and tear them to shreds.
Fishman Spearman – 25 War Points – A common humanoid monster. A fishman spearman is a monster with very little intelligence, but a strong combat ability when in the water. They are armed with a single spear. Acid Slime – 25 War Points – A common slime monster. An acid slime is a slime made of acid. A large blob of acid with a thin membrane on the outside that can shoot out deadly acid at its targets. However, as with most slimes, the acid slime is incredibly fragile.
Return ◊◊◊◊◊ Okay, so are these the same monsters everyone gets, or what? Actually, I should just ask.
"Are the unlocked monsters the same for everyone?" I ask the Guide, who is still staring at me with a smile on his face. His smile grows wider as he answers, "Every user starts out with five unlocked monsters chosen at random by the System out of a set pool of monsters! Amongst the monsters chosen, four of them are common basic monsters while one of them is a rarer monster! And you got lucky with your rare monster to have a mimic!
Mimics are incredibly good at the start of the Multiversal Wars since no one is expecting them!" That's good to know. I have a lot of points. That's the main conclusion seeing the price of the basic monsters gives me. Enough points for an entire swarm of thousands of monsters. That's kind of scary. It's a good thing no one else got the First Ranker reward for the Galaxy Leaderboards. On another note, the Guide isn't saying anything about the boss monster I have unlocked, or the elite void golems.
Which leads me to believe that he either doesn't see everything, or he's just not mentioning anything I don't ask. Either way, I prefer him this way. Actually, he seems less rude than the last time I met him. Albeit still rude. I stare at him for a moment before returning my focus to the System Menus as I return back to the main Multiversal War Menu. Then I open the Victory Points Shop.
◊◊◊◊◊ Victory Points Shop Victory Points: 0 Gaia User Revival – 1, 000, 000, 000 Victory Points – Revives one user from the planet known as Gaia. City Restoration – 100, 000, 000 Victory Points – Restores one System City that was destroyed during the Multiversal Wars and places the one who purchases this as the new City Lord. Gaia Planetary User 1% Stat Increase – 10, 000, 000 Victory Points – Permanently increases the stats of all users on the planet of Gaia by 1%.
War Discount Perk – 1, 000, 000 Victory Points – Grants the user purchasing this a 5% discount when sending monsters to enemy worlds. Gaia Victory Points Boost – 1, 000, 000, 000 Victory Points – Permanently increases the number of Victory Points earned by 10% for all users on the planet of Gaia. Gaia Monster Weakening Perk – 10, 000, 000 Victory Points – Permanently reduces the stats of all monsters sent to Gaia by 1%.
Gaia Monster Strengthening Perk – 10, 000, 000 Victory Points – Permanently increases the stats of all monsters sent by Gaia to another planet by 1%. … Return ◊◊◊◊◊ That's a lot of points for those. But, at the same time, those are some really nice things to buy. I glance at the Guide as I ask, "How many Victory Points does each kill earn?"
The Guide's eyes flash with faint surprise before he clears it and says, "Ah, I see Her Excellency, the Ruler of the Void Throne has filled you in on details about the world after the Tutorial." He nods his head once.
"Every user killed by one of your monsters will earn you one Victory Point. Every System City destroyed by monsters will earn the users who sent the monsters a pool of ten thousand Victory Points split between the users. And every City Lord slain by your monsters will earn you one thousand Victory Points." Well that's a small amount compared to the price of those things in the Victory Points Shop. But those are probably prices meant to be pooled together by numerous users. Probably. Hopefully.
"What are all the ways to receive War Points?" I ask while crossing my arms and glancing down at the chair I'm sitting in. A different chair from the last time. And, once again, a chair I'm draining of source mana. I lift my head again as I hear the Guide answering, "The main way to earn War Points is to slay monsters either in your System City's Labyrinth, or slay monsters sent by other users from enemy worlds. Whether it's you doing it yourself, or your System City's defenses doing it.
But you can also earn War Points through System Events. And while the War Points earned in the System Events vary depending on the events, the number of War Points earned from each monster slain is dependent on their Tier. Iron Tier monsters give one War Point per monster slain. Bronze Tier monsters give two War Points. Silver Tier monsters give three War Points.
Then it begins to change at Gold Tier, where Gold Tier monsters give five War Points, Platinum Tier monsters give ten War Points, Diamond Tier monsters give twenty-five War Points, and Adamantium Tier monsters give one hundred War Points per monster slain."
"How does the Labyrinth start?" I ask with a slight frown at the difference between the amount earned from killing monsters and the amount it costs to send them.
"What Tier does the Labyrinth start at?"
"Iron Tier, of course," the Guide answers.
"But users may enter a portal at the start of the Labyrinth to move to the different Tier sections of the Labyrinth they have cleared before." That's not bad, then. I just have to go through the Labyrinth once for each section to get past the weaker sections. Then I can start my next Labyrinth runs in the deeper floors. Before I ask more questions about the Labyrinths, I should look at the next menu. The Event Points Shop Menu.
