The Gate of Sacrifice collapsed. Rayan fell through endless darkness. He did not scream. He did not resist. He simply released his grip on the First Quill. The moment it left his hand... The Dharma Astra inside his soul awakened. Not violently. Not with thunder. With silence. A golden mark appeared over Rayan's heart. Then another. Ancient symbols spread across his body. They were older than the Astra ranks. Older than the Celestial Court. Older than the World Tree itself. The Dreamers recoiled.
"Impossible."
"The First Law has awakened." Rayan opened his eyes. Golden light filled them.
"What is the First Law?" No answer. For the first time... The Dreamers were afraid to speak. Suddenly, Rayan found himself standing inside the Hall of Origins. But it was different. The ancient hall was no longer ruined. Its pillars were complete. Its golden rivers flowed beneath crystal bridges. Countless statues stood along the walls. Every statue represented an ancient Dharma Heir. Rayan walked forward. At the center stood one empty throne. Above it... A single inscription. DHARMA DOES NOT RULE. DHARMA CHOOSES.
A figure appeared before him. The First Heir. The same warrior from the beginning of his journey. The one who had passed the Dharma Astra across time. But now Rayan could see his true face. He looked exhausted. Almost human.
"You finally arrived." Rayan stared at him.
"You knew this would happen?" The First Heir smiled.
"I knew someone would eventually reach this point."
"Who were you?" The warrior looked toward the empty throne.
"Not a king."
"Not a god."
"Just the first person who realized..."
"... power should never belong to one person." Rayan understood.
"The Dharma Astra..."
"Wasn't created to make someone the strongest." The First Heir nodded.
"It was created to prevent anyone from becoming absolute." The Hall of Origins trembled. Memories appeared around them. The first civilization. The first Astra. The first gods. The first war. The first betrayal. And finally... The Celestial Court discovering the First Law. Support the creativity of authors by visiting the original site for this novel and more. They feared it. Because Dharma could judge even gods. So they tried to destroy it. The First Heir sacrificed himself to hide it. But he could not destroy it.
Instead... He sent the Astra through time. Until it found Rayan. Rayan looked at his hands.
"So the Dreamers aren't afraid of me." The First Heir shook his head.
"They are afraid of what your existence proves."
"What does it prove?"
"That creation doesn't need a single authority." Rayan looked toward the empty throne.
"It can govern itself."
"Exactly." The golden symbols around Rayan began changing. His Dharma Astra started separating from his soul. Rayan felt an unbearable pain. His memories began disappearing. His childhood. His battles. His victories. Siena. Kael. His father. Everyone. Rayan fell to one knee. The First Heir watched silently.
"The final sacrifice requires you to surrender the Dharma Astra." Rayan's breathing became heavier.
"And my memories?"
"Without the Astra..."
"... you may lose the memories connected to it." Rayan closed his eyes. He thought about Siena. Her smile. Kael's laughter. His father's embrace. The people he had promised to protect. Then he smiled.
"If forgetting me saves them..."
"... I'll accept it." The First Heir looked at him sadly.
"You truly are willing?" Rayan nodded.
"I was once the weakest prince."
"I thought strength was everything." He looked toward the golden light surrounding him.
"Now I understand."
"Strength isn't what you keep."
"It's what you're willing to give away..."
"... when someone else needs it more." The Dharma Astra began leaving his soul. One golden thread. Then another. The Hall of Origins shook. The World Tree screamed. The Dreamers shouted from beyond reality.
"STOP HIM!" The walls of the Hall shattered. Millions of crimson eyes appeared through the cracks. Sophia's voice echoed desperately.
"Rayan!" He looked toward her voice.
"I found the answer."
"Then hurry!" The Dreamers began forcing their way into the Hall. Rayan stood. The Dharma Astra floated before his chest. Instead of keeping it... He opened his hands. And released it. The Astra exploded into millions of golden fragments. Every fragment flew outward. Toward every world. Every soul. Every living being. The Dreamers froze. They had expected one final god. One final king. One final weapon. Instead... Rayan had done something they could never understand. He had given the power away.
The Dharma Astra was no longer his. It belonged to everyone. The First Heir smiled.
"Now..."
"... Dharma has truly awakened." Rayan's memories began fading. His vision blurred. The last thing he remembered... Was Siena calling his name. Then darkness. The Hall of Origins was collapsing. Golden fragments of the Dharma Astra flew through the shattered walls, crossing the boundaries of dimensions and disappearing into countless worlds. Rayan stood at the center. His body was still intact. His soul was not. Every memory connected to the Dharma Astra was being torn away.
"Rayan!" Siena's voice reached him from somewhere beyond the collapsing realm. He turned. For one brief second... He saw her. Not as an illusion. Not as a memory. The real Siena stood beyond the golden barrier. Her eyes were filled with tears. Rayan stared at her.
"Have we..." He struggled to remember.
"... met before?" Siena's lips trembled.
"Yes." She stepped forward.
"We've been through everything together." Rayan searched his mind. Nothing. Yet something inside his heart reacted. A warmth. A strange familiarity. A feeling he couldn't explain.
"I don't remember." Siena smiled through her tears.
"I know." The First Heir stood beside Rayan.
"You can still stop this." Rayan looked at him.
"Can I?"
"Yes."
"Then what happens?"
"The Dharma Astra returns to you."
"And the worlds?"
"They remain dependent upon a single wielder." Rayan looked toward the countless golden fragments.
"No." The First Heir nodded.
"I knew you'd say that." The Hall shook violently. A massive crack opened above them. Beyond it... Millions of crimson eyes appeared. The Dreamers had reached the Hall. One of them spoke.
"Rayan Ashvar." Rayan looked upward. The voice continued.
"You were offered peace."
"You were offered eternity."
"You were offered absolute authority."
"And you rejected all three." Rayan slowly raised his head.
"I don't want to rule."
"Then you will lose everything." Rayan looked toward Siena.
"Maybe." He turned back toward the Dreamers.
"But at least what remains..."
"... will belong to everyone." The Dreamers attacked. A wave of primordial darkness descended toward the Hall. The First Heir immediately raised his blade. Siena summoned thousands of golden lotus petals. Kael's celestial flames erupted. Caelum's frozen domain spread across the collapsing realm. Aster's crimson threads connected every surviving warrior. The Seven Authors appeared behind them. Archeon raised his silver sword. The Final Narrator opened the Book of Endings. For the first time...
Every generation stood together. Not because one ruler commanded them. Because they chose to fight. The darkness struck. BOOM! The entire Hall of Origins shattered. But the golden fragments of Dharma absorbed the impact. Across countless worlds... People awakened. A farmer suddenly stopped working. A child looked toward the sky. A soldier lowered his weapon. A healer reached for someone she had never met. A king opened his palace gates. Each of them felt the same mysterious presence. Not a voice. Not an order.
A choice. Protect. Forgive. Resist. Love. Live. The Dreamers recoiled.
"They are using it." The First Dreamer watched silently. The golden fragments were no longer merely pieces of the Dharma Astra. They had become something greater. A shared potential. Inside the collapsing Hall... Rayan suddenly fell. Siena caught him. His eyes were becoming empty.
"Rayan!" He looked at her.
"I know your face." She froze.
"You do?"
"I don't know why..." He touched his chest.
"But when I see you..."
"... I feel like I've come home." Siena broke into tears. She hugged him. Rayan hesitated. Then slowly... He hugged her back. He didn't remember her name. He didn't remember their journey. He didn't remember the promises they had made. But his heart remembered enough. The First Heir smiled.
"That's the final truth of Dharma." Rayan looked toward him.
"What truth?"
"Memories can disappear."
"Names can disappear."
"Kingdoms can disappear."
"But the choices we make..."
"... leave traces in others." The First Heir's body began dissolving. Rayan stared at him.
"You're leaving."
"I've been gone for a very long time." The First Heir smiled.
"Now..."
"... you don't need me." Golden light surrounded him. Before disappearing, he whispered:"Live." Then he was gone. The Hall of Origins completely collapsed. Rayan and Siena fell through the darkness. Siena held him tightly.
"Don't let go." Rayan looked at her.
"I won't." Below them... A golden world appeared. The World Tree. Its branches stretched across infinity. And at its center... A new throne was forming. But Rayan didn't sit upon it. He looked at the throne. Then pushed it away. The throne shattered. A new symbol appeared where it had stood. Not a crown. Not a sword. A simple open hand. The symbol of choice. The Dreamers watched. The First Dreamer finally spoke.
"The Dharma Heir has sacrificed his authority."
"The Age of One has ended." Its crimson eye turned toward the other Dreamers.
"Now let us see..."
"... what creation does with freedom." The remaining Dreamers roared. The final war was no longer about Rayan. It was about every living soul. And as the World Tree erupted with golden light... Rayan whispered one final word.
"Dawn." The universe answered. To be continue....
