"'Upon mutual consent, the host shall inherit fifty percent of the host's talents, abilities, skills and physical constitution with complete compatibility...'" He looked up.
"... You're serious."
"I don't joke about my bloodline."
"And in return I get one ability or physiology among the ones who you have contracted with or your own self. Did I understand that right?" Tony asked.
"Perfectly."
"So I can make my body just like yours?" Tony got a bit excited, though he was still in doubts of how it would work.
"No."
"No? Isn't what you did just a talent?" Tony asked.
"No. What I have is called Senjutsu, and that will work only when you yourself have massive chakra reserves. You neither have chakra, nor the reserve." Rei put cold water on his thoughts.
"So this sen.. juts.. whatever the name is a biological talent?" Tony asked.
"Yes and no. It's my talent but it can be learnt too, though it might not be the same. If you learn it, I will have to warn you that learning senjutsu is exceptionally hard and you might not have the patience for that." Rei said.
"What do you mean by that? I am a genius. I can learn anything."
"Oh! Then can you sit without moving a muscle or even an eyelid for hours in a single position while sitting on a board that is on the top of a pin point hill?" Rei asked and t the whole description was enough to make Tony stiffen up. He didn't expect that learning this senjutsu without a talent would be that hard.
"Yeah. Thought so." Rei couldn't help but laugh.
"Tony, out of everyone I know, you're the last person who needs someone else's power." He folded his arms while looking directly at the billionaire.
"Your brain is already your greatest weapon."
"... Did you just compliment me?"
"I did."
"... I should record that." Rei ignored him.
"If you ever decide to sign a Half Contract, I do have some recommendations."
"But did you just kick away my intelligence while also acknowledging it as the greatest weapon?" Tony just wasn't done as the realization just hit him.
"Yes, but you forget that the world I live in, technology isn't the advanced. So having your intelligence, at least half of it, would greatly boost for sure, but I can only concentrate on one part at most. I don't have unlimited time to give my attention to."
"Hmm.. Someday I need to visit your world. But that would need me to sign this contract, isn't it? So what would you recommend instead?"
"Thor's physique is the obvious choice. Longer lifespan, ridiculous durability, strength and a healing factor. That alone would let you spend centuries building technology instead of worrying about growing old." Rei answered calmly.
"Beyond that there are other possibilities. The Uzumaki Bloodline would dramatically increase your vitality and stamina. Chakra itself would open an entirely new energy system for you to study. Senjutsu could eventually become an option, but only after you naturally build a proper chakra network and enough reserves. Without that foundation, it would simply be impossible."
Tony was confused about the Thor thing so he asked and when he came to know about aliens and even the fact that SHIELD also knew, he became more cautious. All this time, he was thinking invaders might arrive from Rei's universe, but it seemed even their universe wasn't safe. So he needed to upgrade his suits for his own peace of mind. So longer life was on the table too, but was he ever interested in longer life? If he did so, wouldn't he be alone as others would just die.
In that regard Rei would have to go on contracting others in his life and that was a huge favor to ask. So it was better to just ignore this man named Thor's physique. Reading on this site? Tony remained silent for nearly a full minute before finally folding the contract back together and handing it to Rei.
His expression had become thoughtful, but there wasn't the slightest trace of impatience in his eyes anymore. After everything he had witnessed tonight, even someone like him understood that a decision capable of changing the rest of his life wasn't something to make on impulse.
"... I'll think about the contract later." Tony said honestly.
"Not because I don't trust you, but because I don't want to sign something this important without giving it the time it deserves. For now, let's stick to what I do best." A familiar grin returned to his face.
"Building ridiculously overengineered suits."
"Fair enough." Tony immediately pulled another holographic blueprint into existence, his fingers flying across the projections with renewed enthusiasm.
"Your new armor won't just resize anymore. It'll be adaptive. Whenever your body changes during that Sage Transformation, the suit will dynamically reshape with it. If your forearm turns into a cannon, the armor covering that section will automatically retract and expose only the necessary area. The same goes for your shoulders, legs, torso or anywhere else your biology decides to become... creatively destructive."
"That would solve every problem."
"It'll do more than that." Tony smirked confidently.
"Variable geometry, self-adjusting internal supports, segmented nanolocking plates and predictive movement algorithms. Your armor won't fight against your transformations anymore. It'll cooperate with them. Instead of forcing your body to adapt to the suit, the suit will adapt to you."
"Congratulations. You're about to own the first armor I've ever designed for someone who keeps changing species every few minutes."
By the time Rei returned to his origin world, night had already settled over Konoha. The familiar warmth of home immediately replaced the cold Manhattan breeze as he stepped through the front door. His parents were still awake, quietly chatting over tea before both looked up with welcoming smiles the moment they saw him.
"You're back." Hana smiled warmly.
"I need to tell you both something." The seriousness in his voice immediately caught their attention. Rei sat opposite them before explaining everything. He spoke about the evolution of his Kekkei Genkai, the new inheritance clauses and how Half Contract holders could now inherit one ability, technique or physique from him. Finally, he arrived at the part he had been thinking about the most.
"... My lifespan has changed." Daichi frowned.
"What do you mean?"
"Thor's physique wasn't just strength." Rei answered calmly.
"It extended my lifespan tremendously. Assuming nothing kills me, I'll probably live for several thousand years." Silence filled the room. Neither of his parents looked excited. Instead, both instinctively thought about what that meant for their son. They would eventually grow old while Rei remained exactly the same. They didn't need anyone to explain how lonely such a future would become.
"I need to meet this Thor, maybe see what he eats and drinks. That will help me i extending my life for sure." Daichi said, trying to break the tension. But Hana was still not fazed by the subtle joke.
"I can take you to Asgard someday when you both have enough time." Rei nodded and then continued.
"I don't want to be alone in the long run."
"You've always done everything you could for me. Now it's my turn." A faint smile appeared on Rei's face.
"I'd like both of you to inherit Thor's physique. You'll gain a much longer lifespan, tremendous strength, an incredible healing factor and you'll be able to stay with me for a very, very long time."
"... You were thinking about us?" Hana whispered.
"Of course." Rei answered without hesitation.
"You're my parents. Isn't that what I should do. Besides its free of cost too.
""Hey what do you mean by free of cost? If there was a price, you wouldn't have given us this privilege?" Daichi asked, in a mock anger.
"Bet my cost would have been larger than Hana."
"Naa Dad, your cost would have been cheaper than mom." Rei said with all the seriousness he could gather while Hana was just trying to stifle her own laughter at this point.
"What do you mean? My market price is much better than Hana, okay?" Daichi said.
"Oh yeah, whom do you go to running when something bad happens to your body. Dad, accept it, you won't survive without mom for a single day." Rei said and thus they continued to have this banter while the family felt grateful that Rei was so thoughtful....
"Then... let's begin." The contract activated simultaneously for both of them. Small arcs of lightning danced briefly across Hana and Daichi's bodies as an immense vitality flooded every cell they possessed. Their muscles tightened, their bones became denser and stronger, while an indescribable warmth spread through their bodies like a blazing furnace. The transformation lasted only a few moments, yet when it ended, both instinctively knew they had become something far beyond ordinary humans.
Daichi slowly clenched his fist, hearing the air groan beneath the newfound strength, while Hana stared at her own hands in disbelief as every ache and trace of exhaustion she had accumulated over years of missions had completely vanished. Looking at one another, they couldn't help but laugh softly before pulling Rei into a grateful embrace, overwhelmed by the priceless gift their son had given them.
