"I don't need to." The room became unusually quiet as she looked directly at Rei without even the slightest hesitation.

"If you're going to live for thousands of years... then I want to live for thousands of years too. I don't want to grow old while everyone here else stays the same." Karin continued softly.

"You saved me when nobody else would. You gave me a home, friends and a family I never thought I would have. A woman who always showed another side to the person she liked, while actually having another side inside her, it didn't sit well with Rei. But of course, he couldn't say this to her. Not because he couldn't, but because he was sure that his words of discouragement would mean anything to her. What she needed was therapy and love. The unconditional kind, one that would teach her that she didn't need to prove anyone to live happily and in her own terms.
